Incredible stay! Authentic experience with delicious dinner and breakfast. Witnessed an amazing sunrise from the terrace. The owners organized a memorable night, allowing us to try traditional food, wear costumes, and dance. Attention to detail and guest comfort was evident throughout. Perfect stop for travelers from Tataouine to Matmata. Highly recommended!

The place is a gem hidden in the Tunisian mountains, in a little Berber village. The room was spacious and clean. A bit cold in winter so be prepared with warm clothes.

The food was just fantastic. You can take a walk with Moussa who will explain the Berber traditions.

A fantastic, authentic experience staying with the family who own the Dar. We were welcomed with tea upon arrival and even though there was a language barrier we managed to communite. We happened to visit when the English speaking guide/manager was away but we spoke to him on the phone and he welcomed us and checked if there was anything we needed help with. Originally we found it quite challenging to reach the Dar without a car. However with a bit of wrangling and some intense googling we found that we could reach the Dar by travelling to Gabes, Matmata New, Matmata ancienn and then we managed to blag a lift from Old Matmata to Toujane. I would highly recommend if coming by louage like us to travel early and expect some waiting times at louage stations whilst the bus fills up. The view from the terrace at sunset was amazing, you can see right across the plains to the sea. We also loved exploring Toujane; the locals seemed curious when we walked past especially the children. The village is very much a quiet, peaceful and tranquil place to slow down. The food prepared by the mama of the family was lovely and I highly recommend asking for dinner like we did. The rooms were modern, clean and perfect for us.

We had a wonderful night spent here - a lovely village and we were made to feel incredibly welcome and also enjoyed a beautiful sunset walk guided by the generous Moussa who speaks brilliant English. Would highly recommend as a local and traditional escape.

Fantastic place to stay, would recommend! Very welcoming staff that make you feel at home with family. They were happy to teach us about local culture, the history of Toujane and show us the art of carpet making. The surrounding mountains are beautiful and the stars are clearly visible at night. Our stay here was an enriching and unforgettable experience.

We had such a lovely time there and wished we’d spent another night. Food was delicious and people were really welcoming. Super clean and beautiful.

An absolutely fabulous place!! I just showed up with my bicycle without reservation and got an extremely good deal including dinner and bf. The family is verry welcoming. The meals were superb and absolutely good value with traditional foods and ingredients. They have different kinds of rooms: caves, suites and simple rooms. It was one of the best places I stayed in Tunesia. Good views from the terrace. If you have the choice, stay here instead of Matmata (wich is kind of a tourist trap). Toujane is beautifull located on the side of a hill. I like to thank the family for their efforts to make my stay special.

The location is great, with a panoramic view of the plains below all the way to the Sea. The food is authentic Berber(cuscusi, chorba, loubia), delicious and of large portions. You can be invited to eat with the rest of the extended family on the terrace because you are treated like one of the family as well. Fathee does all to make you feel part of the house. Two rooms are grottos and there are several with great views out the window on a part higher up . I highly recommend staying there if you are in Toujane. I certainly would stay again in the next trip to Tunisia.

Book this place right now. Fathi welcomes you into his home as if you are family. It is an incredible guest house with traditional berber touches. Fathi is an incredibly kind and knowledgable host. He organized every little aspect of our trip making sure we got the best price. The village is incredible and has pristine historical architecture which Fathi was glad to show us around. The room is perfect. A cave with traditional touches but also extremely clean and with all the modern amenities one could want. The food was home cooked and marvellous. I would highly recommend trying the Brik. I cannot recommend this place enough.

It was an amazing experience to live with this kind family who takes care of you, sleeping in a cave room near an ancient Berber village with a wonderful view. This experience brought me a lot. The eldest son of the family is fluent in French and even spends his free time with you if you wish. It's right in the middle of the mountains for a nice view and hiking activities. In the small village, you can enter a few shops to drink tea. The family helped me organize a car to take me to the next Louage station for my next trip. Great experience! We stayed for two nights. We wanted a cultural experience and got it. We stayed in a regular room one night and a cave room the second night. Both were fine. Good food. We are all our meals with them. Fathi speaks good French and showed us some cool places nearby. Great family that likes people. There are no hidden fees or surprises when you checkout. I want to thank once more Fethi and his family for our stay in his establishment and for all their help and support.
Our car met some technical issue. They helped us to make it repaired despite that their beautiful village is really isolated.

Fathi welcomed us to his home and his family as If we were part of it. The project he is trying to develop in Toujane is very beautiful and it is inspiring to see how they live and see the life. He showed us around the village and although it wasn't in our plans to visit it, it was definitely worth the time! The house is beautiful and authentic and you will be more than comfortable in this strange yet amazing room. And the food they cook is homemade and delicious! True Tunisian food. I suggest everyone to go see this place and meet him, his family and his amazing friend Musa, who's soul is definitely a young and beautiful one. Hope to see you all again!

The host is very kind and guided us all over the village. I suggest it if you want to feel a true Amazigh experience in these special houses

Fathi ci a accolto nella sua casa. E' sempre stato disponibile e sempre presente per eventuali necessità. La sua casa ha una bella terrazza dove si vede tutto il paese. Davanti alla sua casa si può parcheggiare l'automobile. Abbiamo cenato presso la sua casa con cibo cucinato da loro per 25 dinari a persona. Ci ha fatto da guida per illustrare Toujane e ci ha chiesto 60 dinari. La colazione è buona e fatta in casa, compresa nella stanza. Esperienza positiva.
