Maison Troglodyte Matmata متحف قصور مطماطة

This house is a short drive from Hotel Sidi Driss on the way to Toujane. It’s worth a visit because it’s different to Sidi Driss and a real family still lives there. There’s a suggested 10 dinar entry fee which they don’t always enforce but we’re very appreciative when I paid.

The house is nice, well maintained, we received local bread and tea, seems authentic not touristic. We were accompanied by a young man who requested a tip, that is in addition to the 10 dinar fee for the house and a few dinars for the pictures with the camel outside.

A beautiful authentic house with a friendly, knowledgeable host. Definitely worth a stop! Make sure you have a tea on the rooftop afterwards.

Uns hat ein Einheimisches Guide am Hotel Sidi Idris (Star Wars) abgefangen und hat uns dann für 10 Euro/Person durchs Hotel und durch die Höhlen begleitet. Dort war ein Snag inklusive. Sollte man gesehen haben wenn man in der Nähe ist.
