Hotel Sidi Idriss

Lovely trogolodyte hotel. It is clean and comfortable. Breakfast is decent. It is common shared bathroom which is clean except no place to hang clothes inside. If take dinner and breakfast price is 80 dinar per pax and if just stay witj breakfast is 60 dinar/ pax.

Another great place signifying the unique vision of George Lucas to use this as a set in the movie Phantom Menace, New Hope and Clone Wars.

This was the home of Uncle Ben, Aunt May and Luke Skywalker.

They have a WC onsite, restaurant and rooms . The place is practically a Hotel , just be aware of the locals. They will pretend to be tourist guides. They will start showing you around and then expect you to pay them for the service.

We visited Hotel Sidi Idriss because it was one of the Star Wars sets in Tunisia. It is worth a visit, although the place is not very big.
It can be very crowded, lots of buses full of tourists can arrive in just a few minutes.

A must see place for all Star Wars fans.

It surpassed my expectations. The unique experience of seeing the set where Star Wars was filmed is one thing but the opportunity to stay there is a another.

Sleeping in a cave is as unique experience as you're going to get, and it's great. The rooms are cool when it's hot outside and warm when it's cold out.

The showers are shared but they do have hot water.

About 40DT per night including a dinner. Also have a great little bar.

Don't just pass through on your star wars tour but spend the night and take your time.

We had such a wonderful stay at the hotel on our way through the the Berber villages and the Atlas Mountains!! The staff here are incredibly friendly and are always ready to welcome you with food, drink, and genuine hospitality. It was so wonderful to be given a tour around the local museums on Berber culture, to hold some local falcons, and to take camels up on a beautiful mountain path overlooking the city! Not to mention all the STAR WARS AWESOMENESS!! Would come back again any day :)

I stayed for 1h, but I had a chance to eat in the kus kus restaurant. The food was really good. Especially the kus kus with pumpkin 🎃

Wow!! I loved it!!! The food was sooooo good the bar is great and the staff is so cool! This is a must for any star wars fan! Its not the ritz so dont be a snot.. you're staying in a cave and its totally rad. The bathrooms are shared but i found them well cared for. I would say,if youre going in ghe winter stay an extra day tozeur isn't as great when its cold and this place has AMAZING food and a bar and i cant stress how great they are

A amazing experience, especially if you are a Star wars fan ! The Berber building style are fantastic. For 40 TDN each (low season) I have bed, breakfast and a delicious Tunisian dinner.

The area around the hotel are very beautiful and you can do great hikings

Underground rooms "troglodytes" built by local Berbers.

Hotel Sidi Driss (IDRISS) was used in 1976 as a filming location for Star Wars episode - A New Hope. The hotel is designed as a traditional Berber troglodyte underground building. It featured as the home of Luke, his Aunt and Uncle on the planet Tattoine (incidentally there is a city by the name Tataouine, around 100 kms south, in Tunis and it is famous for troglodytes / underground homes.) It was featured again in the 2002 episode - Attack of Clones.

I've been here so many times still never been here. 😍🥲 RIP Uncle Owen & Aunt Beru.

No ATM's in old matmata. Take money with you. Book at hotel .cheap rates . I paid 40dt for B & B + evening meal .in Jan . 2/DT by bus from Gabe's. 3dt a beer. Clean hotel. Good service .

Where one of the Star Wars movies was filmed ... a very amazing place with a lot of heritage and building style for the region.

Good food in a testaurant built inside the underground house made for the Tatouine house of Star wars. Amazing!
