Doi Lom Elephant Rescue Sanctuary

Amazing experience!! We visited as a family of 7 with 2 young children (10 and 4) and had an absolutely amazing experience. The owners and guides are very knowledgeable and its clear that the elephants are very well cared for and loved by the trainers. Everything was at a slow pace and the elephants were able to wander off and graze on their own when whenever we stopped. The best parts of the experience were feeding them the food we made when we arrived and also getting into the water with them and splashing them with water. We would recommend this sanctuary to anyone and will hopefully be back in the future. Thank you Doi Lom elephant rescue sanctuary.

This is an exceptional elephant sanctuary. I spent hours trying to find one where the elephants are treated humanely (no riding, not forced to do things, etc) and Doi Lom Elephant Rescue was definitely the right choice. It was a wonderful experience with superb staff. You fed the elephants, walked with them, and helped bathe them. I highly recommend a visit here.

Doi Lom elephant rescue is a really small sanctuary with 3 elephants. You feel like home there.
It is the best way to be close to the elephants. The afternoon and night spent there were wonderful. Thanks to the full team, Muu and the trainers for this magical moment 🙏

If you want to ethically get up close and personal with elephants then please visit Doi Lom. Tony and his team truly care about their elephant family, and strive to give them the best life they can. When you visit Doi Lom you are helping to keep this small herd of elephants out of work camps, and you are also helping the entire village. Tony rents land from village land owners and also hires local residents to prepare meals for guests. My partner and I planned to go for a few hours and ended up spending the night, as it was such a lovely experience. The elephants, Tony, his staff and family, and the location. (Yes there are a few rooms to rent!). Please support Doi Lom; they are an ethical elephant experience in Thailand.

Wonderful Experience! We learned the history of where the elephants came from. Made their medicine, walked around the farm feeding and washing the elephant. We had a nice lunch of Pad Thai and watermelon. Thoroughly enjoyable and we left feeling content that the elephants are leading happy lives

Such a lovely experience! Kind people, happy elephants. No tourist stuff. No riding. Only being together with the elephants, feeding them, playing with them. Absolutely perfect!! Best experience!

We wanted to spend some time with elephant more than a day, so we asked Tony if it was possible to stay for a week as volonteers which he gladly accepted.
This sancturary is the best experience we had so far in Thailand.

- The kindness and sympathie of the staff
- All the explainations about the elephants
- The astonishing place in the middle of nature
- The accommodation was so nice and clean

In one word we couldn't get better !
Helping as a volonteer was so intense because you created a bond with the elephants when you take care of them (feeding, cleaning, take a walk..). It was very sad to leave this wonderful place.

An amazing experience ! A once in a lifetime! Beautiful family with 3 elephants. We made medicine and fed them and washed them and cared for them. Such a beautiful place. The trainees we incredible and gentle with them. I definitely recommend this sanctuary. An honest caring community.

This was an absolutely amazing experience! Seeing the elephants was such a privilege and to see them being looked after so well and loved by the staff was really heartwarming. If you want to visit elephants then this is definitely the place to go.

Beautiful place with very good accommodation options, big capacity and what is most important, perfect ppace for the elephants living here. We came because we love the animals and wanted to spend some time with them and we did. Owner provided a program with preparing food and medicine for them, getting used to them and then walk with them and bathing in little a lake with them.
Elephants are in good environment here, it's only 5 of them now so every one of them is being taken care of and has its own human companion.

Our group's camping experience in the hills north of Chiang Mai was nothing short of exceptional. We set up camp right next to the river, surrounded by the tranquil beauty of the hills. The location offered a perfect blend of natural serenity and adventure.

Our days were filled with thrilling activities, but the highlight was definitely the proximity to the river. We spent hours enjoying the crystal-clear waters, be it for a refreshing swim or just to relax by the riverbank. Evenings around the campfire were a perfect way to end our days.

Waking up to the breathtaking view of the sun rising over the nearby hills was a sight to behold. Breakfast by the riverside was a joy, and our visits to the nearby village were a unique cultural experience. The opportunity to buy food for the elephants and observe their gentle nature added a memorable touch to our journey.

This wasn't just a camping trip; it was a connection with nature, an adventure shared with friends, and a chance to experience the local culture. The hills north of Chiang Mai provided a setting for unforgettable memories that our group will cherish for years to come.

Great experience and great attention! We were a really small group so we had a lot of time with each elephant! Elephants are treated great and they are free. Also the workers are super friendly and create a great mood. Would definatelly go back.
