This is a 'must visit' temple complex with a stunning array of buddhist temples and stupas. If you're into photography, aim for the 'golden hour' and you will not fail to capture some fantastic images. The complex is clean and well maintained and, unlike some other temples in Thailand, seems to be place of genuine pilgrimage rather than a tourist destination.

A very colorful but charming temple. It is one of the most beautiful temple complexes seen in Thailand. Even though it does not have the spiritual sense of a temple, it is a nice complex of buildings, statues and stupas. The colors used in the structures complement well with the surrounding nature.

Some part of it is still under construction and people can donate for the construction. Even the process of donating is made so interesting, letting us to hang a flag like thing on a rope.

The entrance is free and there is ample parking infront of the temple.

No need to buy tickets. It's up to you for donation. Great scenery and buildings. Advise to visit in the early morning. The floor is frying hot as it is open air, directly exposed to the sun during the afternoon.

One of the best and most beautiful temples I have visited in Thailand. A real gem. So pleased I found this spot near Chiang Dao.

Immaculate well maintained grounds with expansively magnificent mountain valley range views. Must see Theravada Buddhist temple in Chiang Mai!

A bit out of the way of Chiang Mai but if you're on a tour this is a must-do stop. The temple complex is fairly new and in amazing condition, in the middle of the the beautiful countryside. The colours in the temple complex are really vivid.

The temple is also known as the Blue Temple (different from the one in Chiang Rai) due to its blue roofs and I was very amazed by the beautiful nagas and pagodas spread all over. There are at least 10 buildings spread all over the land, and they are actually still building more.

Absolutely stunning and rich in culture!

Such a serene and magical place. My favourite Wat of the many during my travels in Thailand. Amazing architecture and details spread over a vast amount of land. They are constantly building more structures to add more Buddha’s.

We arrived before noon and had most if the place to ourselves. An hour later it was packed as we left for lunch.

Very clean and well kept grounds. Shoes off and dress appropriately to show your respects. No entry fee, but donations accepted throughout the grounds.

The best was the lying Buddha. So grand and vibrant in the art and details.

Recommended to anyone who lives culture and is headed to sticky waterfalls as it is “relatively” close by.

Nice place to visit, dont missed it. Ladies be sure to cover your legs as a respect. You may rent the sarong(covered skirt for 20bath)

Importantly if visitng in the afternoon bring socks to avoid frying your feet. The flooring tiles can cook on sunny days.

Just an amazing temple complex! Still under construction, but this doesn't prevent you from enjoying the already completed beautiful temples. You have to spent couple of hours to walk it all. Caution: In some places the floor is very hot, so you need to walk fast from one shady place to another or wear socks.

This is a very large temple and one of those must see landmarks in the area. I have traveled around much in Thailand; this is at least one of he largest temple grounds that I have seen. The grounds are beautiful and well kept and there are many bathrooms and a few snack and souvenir shops close by.

Best to have shoes you can easily remove as there are many different building to tour. While there was a couple of people in shorts, please plan with appropriate attire as you are entering a temple.

Wat Ban Den was Majestic. The contrasting colors, the amazing architecture and all. But it's around 42 km from Chiang Mai main city. So, please take a prebooked meter taxi for round trip instead of just taking a grab. Look at some of the amazing photos and videos I have taken just with my phone
