Beautiful cave, the deeper part required a tour guide which will hold a lanturn and lead you the way.

It is not very educative, though. It's more like the local imagination the shape of those stalactites.

There are a few great hugh halls with super high ceilings that impress me the most.

Bring your own head torch. it would be more fun to look around by yourself.

Interesting cave. I would recommend taking a guide to the other part with no lights - seems more unpaved path with a lot of bats and some spiders. It’s not that difficult but in few places you have to go on your knees. Entry is 40 bat plus 200 bat if you decide to go with the guide.

The cave tour is 200 baht and is well worth it. The guide will bring a lantern and point out different landmarks, formations and shrines. It was much larger than I expected and turned into a fun little adventure.

It’s a must visit place to check out the beauty that nature has created within this cave. There will be a nice local guide lighting and guiding your way through the cave, the session takes up 20 - 30 mins. So, be prepare and watch your steps.

Fantastic cave!!! Bring a good LED head flashlight so u can see well! Wear good traction shoes! Some areas are wet and can be slippery. Highly recc hire a guide! 200 baht she gives u tour plus carries a gas lamp. You can easily get lost as this is a big cave. Lots of paths and a few tunnels to crawl through to get to other paths. Many times i thoyght i was back to a room we had already passed but no... new room! Also, restroom u are supposed to remove ur shoes and wear one of their sandals to use facility. I didnt kniw this. Note: no one made fun of me or criticized me except my wife.

The place will leave you breathless literally after trekking through the caves hahaha but I lost my breath at the fantastic koi pond here that believe it or not has seriously large piscine monsters, kois, red tails and other freshwater monsters that were visible in the emerald green clear waters. Didn't do the lantern trek where the locals will take you through the pitch dark cave branches, but have put it in my bucket list for when I've more time and stamina, strongly suggest carry a bottle of water to hydrate yourselves and wear a bumpcap or cycling helmet if youre tall like me and prone to knock your noggin on rocky overhangs that may be missed in certain low light areas. The caves are pretty impressive by themselves with a few live stalagmites and stalactites on the lit path. Carry a good high-powered light if you want to illuminate your shots of the darker regions.

Nice walk around temple, quite busy and lots of free parking space.

20-40THB ticket fee to the cave, once you enter there’re 2 paths to go
1. Short walk w/o guide in the cave
2. Long walk with 200THB fee with guide and lantern

I chose to pay more and it rewarded me surprisingly. Highly recommended for anyone who still good with thier back and knee. You would feel how scary it is once the light go dark, i mean completely dark !

Really interesting place to visit, be sure to pay for a guide as you can go deeper into the caves and they are really informative.

Pretty cool temple to visit. The regular entrance ticket gets you to just the illuminated areas of the cave temple which has a lot of Buddhist statues.
The real beauty of this place lies in the special tour where you need to book the local guide who takes you through all the secret tunnels with a kerosene lamp. It was a real adventure where you need to crawl on your knees to get through some of the passages.
Filled with bats and really beautiful stalactites and stalagmites, the guide, who speaks limited English tries to explain the different carvings and formations on the cave walls.

What an amazing temple. There is a 500 steps walk up to it, which brings you through this amazing mediating and self journey of reflection before getting to the temple. It's a beautiful route, not too hard, through amazing nature and sounds. The temple also doesn't disappoints. The monks are so welcoming. We went up to have breakfast with them! If you come before 8, you can help by bringing the food from the kitchen up to the monks and listen to the chant they make before eating. After blessing the Buddhas and the monks, you can return the food to the kitchen and enjoy an amazimg breakfast with one of the best views.

This is a large area with various Buddhist pagodas, Buddha statues, various buildings, shops, parking areas and the cave. It's not large as the Nam Lod cave but still very impressive. There are two areas within the cave, one with a guided tour (compulsory to have a guide which need to pay additionally to the entrance fee) and one free (easy to walk and not large as the main cave). The guide (with an oil lantern) will take you through various (some places where you need almost to crawl under low veiling of the cave) areas within the tunnel. The inner walls of the cave are covered with large formations and columns which are impressive. There are various limestone formations which looks like elephants, dragons and buddha statues.

Naturally cool inside the temple cave, lit with electricity at public part if one does not want to hire a guide to explore the unlit part. Exterior is prettied up for taking photos. One can donate 9 baht to get a lucky ribbon and make a wish. Need a translator app because the ribbons come in specific colors that match the type of intention!

Worth the visit! The cave is an eye opening experience! Must visit with a tour guide (200 baht per group not including tip for the guide). There are several local guides by the cave entrance. My two boys (3 and 5) are amazed! First time seeing bats!

Awesome Cave in the Chiang Dao temple. Guided Tour was great for only 200 baht. A must visit on the return trip from Chiang Dao Viewpoints to Chiangmai.

Absolutely beautiful attraction to visit. The koi fish outside are magnificent, the temples are pretty extravagant, and the caves are a MUST. Only costs 40 baht to go inside, but 200 baht for a tour guide (doesn’t matter how many people you’re taking with you, you just need one guide). Demonic feeling inside the cave and temples..

For an even more effective tour, bring a high powered torch!

Entrance to the cave alone is 20bht. From there you can stroll along the length of the cave inside with many beautiful buddha statues. Cave is as original as it looks with certain parts a bit muddy and slippery due to water dews so walk with care.

If you want to experience deeper, you can engage a cave guide who will bring you with a lighted picnic lantern to the inner parts of the cave. During the experience, the guide will also off the lantern entirely to experience the total darkness. Cool.

The pond outside the cave has very very clear waters and you can buy food to feed the fishes. However during my last visit, the fishes are obviously very full as there were many leftovers floating on the water surface.

This place has changed a lot over the years with many vendors doing business within the compound. You can buy herbs or thai snacks all within the area. Food restaurants and also coffee joints can also be found here. Overall I find it getting a slight bit of over touristy but still worth a visit non the less. Children can experience the cave experience in a safe environment.

Please do not feel pressure to not use a guide. I didn't and the experience is still good. All photos taken are without guide.

Strongly recommended as there are caves to explore inside the temple. The big cave is huge and needed a local guide to navigate (English guide is available for free but tips are welcome). Took about 30 mins in there but was worth it!
*Elderly and pregnant woman should beware as the cave is dark, slippery and narrow at some points.

Nice to see that there is a Cave temple just near Chiang Mai. It is always fascinating to see history and culture a bit cliche but I think even if this is already a tourist area this is still a very good place to visit!👍

A big and beautiful cave with buddha images and other scared statues inside. Worth paying a little entrance fee (20 Baht) but if you want to see the restricted part of the cave you have to pay some fee (200 Baht per a group of 5 people) for a tour guide which is also worth paying.
