Anantara Chiang Mai Resort

I recently stayed at Anantara which truly exceeded my expectations. The hotel itself is very nice and exceptionally clean, providing top-notch services throughout my stay. The food was fantastic, with a variety of delicious options to choose from. Although the location is a bit far from the city center, it was quite easy to navigate to and from the city using Grab, which added convenience. One of the standout features of this hotel is its great vibe, thanks to its scenic riverside location. Additionally, the hotel offers a river cruise, which I had the pleasure of joining. It turned out to be a memorable experience, providing stunning views and a unique way to explore the area. I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone looking for quality accommodation with a touch of adventure.!

The kindest, most helpful people, we had a major issue. Hospital ambulance, you can imagine, the staff helped us beyond imagination. Thank you forever. The one bed apartment was exceptional and the breakfast buffet fantastic. Thank you for the flowers sent and the general manager to take the time to check in to see how we were and to the manager of the apartment side of the hotel and all involved.

This is a beautiful and very comfortable resort with excellent facilities. The overall service is without fault. We particularly enjoyed the Bubbles bar and their cocktails in the “Happy Hour”. The two ladies looking after the Bubbles bar – Bow and Nai were charming, fun and looked after us really well.
The Bodhi Terrace restaurant is a high class restaurant with exceptional service, great menu and a great view looking onto the river. We had a thoroughly good evening there.
The resort is within 5 minutes’ walk to the night market in Chiang Mai and there are a number of interesting shops and restaurants.
The rooms are spacious and light. A nice and comfortable balcony overlooking the grounds and the river create a beautiful atmosphere. Housekeeping service is beyond reproach. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here and wished that we had booked for a few more days.

A truely sepctacular hotel. Stayed for our honeymoon. From the moment you enter you know you are in for a treat. The service is polite and very professional. The room was very clean and really appreciated their gesture for our honeymoon. Despite mosquito warnings we did not really have any issues during our stay. The restaurants on site were exceptional particularly the breakfast buffet! Loved the pool which sits adjacent to a koi pond. It truely feels like you are swimming with koi fish.

Overall a very pleasant stay at Anantara Chiang Mai. The service was wonderful (especially BJ at the front desk), the property is on the older side but well-maintained, and the location is good. Highly recommend - the only minor comment is that the food is average at best.

The Anantara Chiang Mai is the perfect oasis while staying in Chiang Mai! The property itself is incredibly beautiful and peaceful, with a great spa and pool area plus dining areas right along the riverside. The rooms are well appointed and have everything you need during a stay, plus the beds are some of the most comfortable I've slept on. Service is friendly and attentive and someone is always available should you need anything. Thanks to the team for an amazing group stay!

Sawasdee Ka! This was our first stay at an Anantara property and it will not be the last! We were booked on a 28 day cruise Bangkok to Korea and wanted to extended our vacation to explore Chiang Mai. I choose this property because of the wonderful reviews and the concierge excursion offerings! It was a memorable and remarkable 5 night stay. The Kasara River View Suite was large, modern and very well equipped. The bed was extremely comfortable and the bathroom was spacious, with a sliding wall separating the two rooms. The suite was beautifully cleaned each day with drinking water, tea and coffee being replenished daily, and small gifts left on the pillow each evening. There was nothing we could find fault with in the suite, but if I had to choose something, it would be that we couldn't stay longer.

As for the rest of the hotel, I would describe it as an oasis in the midst of a busy city. A feeling of calm and welcome descended as soon as we walked in to the lobby. We enjoyed everything that Anantara has to offer, the dining, the world class spa (best massage maybe EVER), and the sunset rooftop cocktails. As I mentioned, one of the main reasons for choosing Anantara was the concierge. Sittisak ("B") and team helped me understand the tour and dining options, and then booked and confirmed everything! Helping us to make the very most of our time in Chiang Mai, Including two fabulous days with Cathy, a cooking class at Grandmas Cooking School, and a life changing day with the elephants! Amazing!

However, my husband and I feel that what makes Anantara so special is the people that work there. We were made to feel like family, and without exception, everyone was friendly and helpful from the first email to the moment we departed. My only wish is that it wasn't a 32 hour flight away!

A beautiful landmark hotel is situated near Historic iron bridge on the Ping river. The main breakfast area is in the old colonial building built 100 years ago. There has Jim Thompson Thai silk fabric store inside near the lobby entrance. Serenity and beautiful along Ping River

We absolutely loved our stay! The resort is so beautiful and relaxing! The koi fish pond around the pool was so pretty. The staff was super polite and helpful! So many great restaurants and street markets right by the resort.We are very spoiled now after staying at this resort. Cute holiday celebrations and decorations as well.

A beautiful resort, very well managed hotel with very friendly staffs. Top service level. The public areas such as the swimming pool, the lobby, and the restaurants are very well maintained. But it didn’t feel very calm and quiet in the hotel. There’s loud extraction fan/ventilation system next to the breakfast outdoor sitting area, and at the hallways outside of hotel room.

This place has perfect vibes. It's right on the river and yet you can easily get to Old Town. Staff here are universally wonderful. We used nearly every facility at the hotel - the fitness center, boxed breakfast for early-morning trips, all the restaurants and bars - and everything was great. it was the perfect start to our trip. My only quibble would be the rooms, which could use a refresh. I love the clean, minimalist aesthetic, but some of the furnishings are showing their age.

A Modern-Lanna (Northern region culture), luxury and private hotel located in the center of Chiang Mai nearby the river. Staffs were polite and helpful.

Room was so big and clean. Bathroom had an open bathtub and toilet which’s good for a couple but not for family and friends.

Atmosphere around was super fresh and green, so relax. The bar was also great. Anyway not all the staffs did know about all the packages hotel provided. We nearly missed nice complimentary drinks at the bar because we planned to go out. Good that we brought the booking details with us and thanks to the manager who took care us well.

Breakfast’s great. Becareful of the rush hour, tables were too limited and food were super slow. You could ask staffs for a lar carte or you could go and get them at the buffet line.

There’s an underground car park.

I had so much memories and good things about Anantara Chiang Mai.

I held my wedding ceremony in the resort and it was nothing short of amazing.
The service crew, event organiser and every single Anantara's staffs are so professional with service-oriented mindset. They are simply there to take care of you.
You folks know who you are, I don't want to name it here publicly.

I will definitely return back. My close friends and relatives are also eager to experience the stay themselves.

Stay at the service apartment across street and come here for breakfast. The food is indeed very very delicious and with variety of choice. Also, the service is very nice everybody having a smile on their face.

Service was second to none. Every member of staff was happy, welcoming and willing to help. Outstanding room and clever layout. A building steeped in history and a great location. Food was excellent, breakfast under the tree and overlooking the river. Highly recommended. Even had the privilege of witnessing a Thai wedding. A perfect few days from which to explore Chaing Mai.

What an absolutely lovely hotel which is, almost impossible to fault.
From the lovely lobby area to each room to store shoes, the beautiful gardens and river front restaurant. Breakfast was superb with a great selection of fresh dishes each day. Location is super, just within easy reach of restaurants and markets.
Our room was beautifully appointed with sofas and loungers on the balcony (OK, we did go for a river view suite, read further for caution here).
The staff were amongst the most friendly and helpful I've ever encountered.
Now the caution, there are 2 very noisy restaurant/clubs next door which play loud music until midnight. Because of this, our peaceful river view suite was anything but! Just choose your room carefully!

Very resort feel. Clean, huge, tranquil, serene, riverview, etc. The service is smart in dressing and service. They are a notch above. Able to handle pre-empt situation and provide appropriate advice. Keep up the good work.

One of my favorite places during my stay in Thailand. The room was beautiful, spacious, clean, and definitely 5-star quality. The resort itself was beautiful and staff was very nice. The breakfast was not the best, so we chose to eat off the resort. Otherwise, our stay here was amazing. Bed is comfortable, the balcony is spacious, all the features of the room are well kept. I would definitely stay here again!

This was our first time in Chiang Mai and we couldn’t have picked a better hotel than the Anantara.
Even before we had been there for 24 hours we kept on saying how much we were loving every minute.
As others have mentioned, the facilities are great.
Our Kasara Suite was really spectacular. Clean, spacious and even had a table and daybed in the room plus another daybed and chairs overlooking a beautiful courtyard.
The entire grounds are so peaceful we felt so relaxed the whole time. Instant tranquility.
The pool is large and heated so we spent a long time there. There were around 25 sun lounges and you could find a spare one almost any time with the afternoons being the busiest time for the pool.
The beautifully restored British Colonial Office is the “soul” of the Anantara Chiang Mai. It just creates a sense of timeless class and serenity.
The breakfast buffet at the Bodhi Terrace is fantastic with an extensive array of delicious choices plus selections from the a la carte menu.
We had dinner at Service 1921 twice and the food was so good. I asked our waiter for a recommendation and she suggested the Burger which I thought was odd as they can be good but nothing special. How wrong could I be, without a doubt the best burger I have eaten. Everything we tried was great.
Portions were very generous. Prices are very reasonable for the quality of the food.
We had a 1 hour massage which was both relaxing and able to release tension from aching muscles. The Spa itself is beautiful. Bee and Sumatra were wonderful masseuses.
If the century old British Colonial Office is the “Soul” of Anantara Chiang Mai then the staff are the “heart”. Service is exceptional and we would especially like to recognise Benz in the Brit Bar, Ta the 1921 Restaurant Manager, David, Food and Beverage Manager, Bowey and P, Gong and Eak in Reception. They were always smiling and happy to assist in any way possible.
We can’t wait to return.
