Ubolratana Dam

Last week of September 2023, I'd been there for work (floating solar project). Good place, great atmophere.
The food store there is good. Tons of store outside the dam. You can sleep there, the room is ok though.

It's a beautiful place worth visit! The road to get there is good and it's a magical view over the dam and the rich nature while driving there , go by motorbike if you have the opportunity.

Was quiet as not tourist time. Size of the reservoir enormous. Restaurant was empty but food was good & astonishingly reasonable priced. Luscious green park to picnic.

A nice cool place entrance is free and you can also eat inside or stay in a resort and they also have a golf course

26th Feb 2019. Beautiful gardens and walks. Lost of places to park and eat.
Good viewing point is up the hill through Wat Pha Bat Phu Pan Kham not the direct road because its gated.

One of the best attractions in the Khon Kaen area, including the reservoir and the national park around. Highly recommended!

Unbelivable veiws and gardens. accomodation also to rent. we did cosy and clean with a resturant close by. fantastic walks at night.

Ubol Ratana Dam was built in the 1960s. It is named after Ubol Ratana who is the oldest child of King Rama IX.

When you reach the gate to the park surrounding the dam, you must show your ID. But you do not have to buy a ticket. Admission is free for Thais and for foreigners.

Once inside the park you can walk to the dam. You can walk across it from one side to the other.

Inside the park there are several shops and restaurants. This place is very popular among the Thais, especially during the weekend.

Good place to relax and​ feeling with the​wind touch your face and body.​

Worth visiting. Beautiful views. Wonderful gardens. Easy to hang around with friends and family. Dam can be viewed from different points. Awesome.
