Awesome experience, located at Sangkhlaburi in Kanchanaburi Thailand. About 180km drive from the main Kanchanaburi area. Good views driving to the bridge, some parts of the routes do not have street lights. Arrive at the Mon bridge, about 800 meters long in fairly good shape. At the end is a small market selling stuff made by the locals. Modest rooms for rent available in that area. The river below is the Songaria river, spectacular views from the bridge. Be careful if you are walking children on the bridge.

Longest wooden bridge in Kanjanaburi. Dress up in Thai clothing and give alms to the monks in the morning. Not a lot of western people go and they are missing out.

Beautiful and quiet place. Historical bridge. Enjoy the view. There is a possibility to take a boat tour from here to the lake and old monastery.

Very nice wooden bridge. Best to see at sunset when it is cool and light is sensational.

Off the normal tourist routes, this was a very attractive place to visit. A dam has flooded a valley, creating a large lake. A morning mist burns off early when the sun warms up, creating great views. A long boat ride on the lake is recommended.

We came to Sangkhlaburi to see Thailand 's longest wooden bridge, Mon bridge. Having seen the longest wooden bridge in the world on Myanmar (U Bein Bridge), this wooden bridge is very similar structure designed and just as beautiful. To best capture the beauty of this bridge is best during either sunset. A lot of visitors will gather on the bridge to capture the sunset, but for a good photograph shot, it's best taken picture by the pier to have the bridge and sunset on the backdrop.

Say goodbye to your busy life here!
The people here are very friendly. I think it is quite nice to experience on the bridge because you will feel like you stand in somewhere on earth even when you see the underwater temples where is a mysterious place EVER!!

So much to see, so little time so we stay one night. The Mon bridge or “Saphan Mon” is Thailand’s longest wooden bridge. There are many activities that you can enjoy near the bridge. Boat tour offers you to see the underwater temples, scenic view on the bridge, visit the Mon village market, where visitors can sample Mon food and buy handmade Mon products.

Conceived for cultural unification, the Mon Bridge was built by a Mon monk and Mon volunteers to reunite with the Thai community across the lake.
In the 1960s, a dam was built causing an old Siam village and temples to be submerged. The two dominant cultures we're relocated on different sides. The Mon and Thai cultures are distinguishable by language and traditions, but have lived in harmony together for centuries. Mon people have been persecuted in Myanmar, and have have always found safe refuge among Thai people.
Monk Luangpho Uttama was the Mon abbot of the local Buddist temple. He initiated the construction of this bridge in 1986 with local Mon workers to fulfill the wishes of the two communities to reunite. The bridge is named Uttamanusorn Bridge in honor of the monk, but is commonly called Mon Bridge. The construction is crude and perilous, but it is enduring.
Originally, the area was populated by the Karen Hill Tribe. The long history of Siam has benefitted from the harmonious communities of Karen, Mon, Khmer, Lao, Burman, and Thai peoples.
Thailand is an amazing place to enjoy cultural diversity and kindness. May we all learn to enduringly celebrate the wondrous beauty of cultural richness.

Pretty nice area to visit. You can take a boat to see a few ruins on the lake. We were not disappointed coming all the way from Bangkok ( 6hours of drive).

A great place to visit especially in the cooler months. Nice views especially in the morning or towards sunset. Be ready for crowds during the holidays. Check out the markets on the other side. Try some breakfast. Would happily come back.

The longest pedestrian wooden bridge in Thailand. Very touristy but charming and beautiful. Try to come at sunrise to see surrounding mist and fog. At sunrise at both ends you may encounter Buddhist monks receiving alms/merits from Thai believers.
You will encounter all kind of people on the bridge, mostly Thai native and tourists including flower sellers.
At both ends of the bridge you’ll finds street markets shops and restaurants in addition to long-tailed boats operators offering rides on the lake.
It is certainly worth visiting. Your visit will be enjoyable.
