Viang Tak Riverside Hotel

Of the many provincial mid-range hotels I had in upcountry Thailand, Viang Tak offers the best value for money. It has oodles of amenities not always found in this price range, a staff throughout polite and eager to be helpful and an A1 location. Optionally it can be booked without breakfast. Free bicycles for guests.
Only some of the many things that I personally enjoyed: very big clean tiled room with huge window and river view; electric outlet next to bed; no noisy fan in bathroom; water cooker; electricity stays on when you're out; hot shower and aircon worked well, shower doesn't flood the bathroom; key card and no big key tag; lots of shopping and morning market next door (but no disturbance); private (if slightly limited) parking obviously was 24 hours security.

This hotel is amazing - what a fantastic find! I loved it and will come back again and would highly recommend… clean, big pool, perfect location, the most comfortable bed in Thailand and the breakfast is superb!

This place is an gem, super polite and helpful staff from the car park guy to reception to the cleaners and cooks, room is huge and very comfortable and exceptionally clean, everything is extremely well made and maintained….i cannot recommend this place enough. Stayed just one night, in a "deluxe" room on floor 5. Check in was quick and easy, with friendly staff speaking English. Room had a double bed, desk, table & chairs, wardrobe (with fancy bathrobes), fridge and kettle, TV, hot shower, modernized AC unit, and a great view of the river area. Also a minibar. Wifi was ok until evening, then it slowed down too much. Back up to speed in the morning though. Hotel has a carpark in front of and behind the building. Attendant was there to guide my car in and out of the stall, and he even assisted as I checked the engine oil level. Didn't use the swimming pool, but it looked inviting. There's a restaurant and a lounge on site, but I didn't eat there so can't comment on the food. They also offer in-room thai massage for 180 thb. Excellent value hotel, would absolutely return.

It`s not the "Raffles" in Singapore but the Viang Tak Riverside hotel definitely offers a touch of a grand hotel.
Attentive, clever staff, large areas and rooms, lots of comfort and quality from a time when maximizing profit was not the top priority, offer a great living experience. We - a couple and our 9 year old son - had a huge corner room with great views over the river and the hills on the horizon. Everything worked perfectly and the cleanliness was good. The breakfast and everything else was just great for the price.
If you don't want it brand new and lovelessly uniform and overpriced, you will find a great hotel experience the Viang Tak Riverside hotel.

What a nice place to stay. You get what you pay for. Best view and big room and the best breakfast. So many varieties of food to choose. Of course the staff are kind and friendly. Definitely will come back when I visit Thailand.

This is possibly the best breakfast in Thailand. Excellent value for money. Stay here regularly and have never been disappointed. Friendly and helpful staff. Great view of river Ping. Clean pool. Was glad to bring my elderly mum here and see her swimming in her late 80s. Alex

Good hotel big buffet breakfast. Situated next to river Ping making the view pretty good. The service is also excellent.

Stayed here last Saturday, lucky, only 3 room left when we checked in. Great room on 5th floor with a great view over the river and the mountains in the background. Everything in the room was very fresh. They must work hard with maintenance because we stayed in this place 10-11 years ago and it look almost as new today. The included breakfast was very good, many different dishes, lots of fruit, coffee-machine. Management and staff very good. One of the best hotels I stayed in Thailand and I have been around quite a bit last 17 years.

Hotel location is excellent for those who want to just stay in town.

Condition is quite old due to hotel age but still clean, tidy and well organized.

They serve "yellow potridge" - Tak specialty food. Cooked the mince pork with curry powder then put into the potridge

Quiet and relaxing place to unwind outside of busy Bangkok 😊

Excellent stay with swimming pool, close to night markets, great view from floor 6 of the coloured street lighting next to river and the lighted up river bridges upstream.

The stay was overall very satisfying. Our room was clean and comfortable. Big thanks to K. Jeab and all the staffs for their hospitality!

Viang Tak Riverside Hotel is one of the best places I had been great staff very friendly people you have every thing a karaoke Disco place good food. If go to Chaing Mai you has to stop in Tak.
