This more than worth the trip here, it’s amazing! The glass walkway is interesting and sets this place apart from other temples within Thailand. The temple here is wonderful as well as the other structures that encompass the area. Being on the sea also adds to its calmness and unique views.

Beautiful Buddhist temple. The temples are built on pylons over the water. Beautiful relaxing and a good place for meditation. I definitely recommend this as it's a short trip outside of Bangkok. But be sure to wear a hat and bring sunscreen as the heat Tempe pretty strong but it's tempered by a cool breeze off the water.

Off the beaten path day trip destination from Bangkok. Not many tourists here. An interesting temple with rich history. Parking is free and there are plenty of parking spaces. There’s a food court with many food stalls.

The unique temple by the sea in Samutprakarn that takes more than 1 hour by car from Bangkok. Wat Hong Thong is also known as Wat Klang Nam. The temple has a plenty of parking.

Beautiful scenery from this temple.
Not far from Bang Pu.
If you go to Bang Pu, don’t forget to visit here as well. Peaceful and chill out there.

Beautiful temple on water with a scenery of the sea. Only access via private transportation. Crowded on weekends and holidays, there’re some restaurants and shop before you enter the temple’s area. Best to visit during sunset. Please respect the temple by appropriate behavior and dress-code.

A FANTASTIC UNIQUE EXPERIENCE.

Wat Hong Thong is in TOP 3 of the hundreds of temples I have visited over the last 3 decades.

it may not be the biggest oldest or the most stunning ornate temple one can imagine.

But there was a very special balance between water Temple, nuns, and monks from the day I visited there it, all in all, did that I got a very special experience.

It was also the first time that I heard that nuns and monks chanted together, they were very beautiful to listen to.

I can only recommend visiting this amazing place.

Wat Hong Thong is a monastery affiliated with the Maha Nikaya sect and is located in Tambon Song Khlong, Amphoe Bang Pakong, Chachoengsao Province. The temple grounds cover an area of 21 rai and 80 square wah.

Commonly known as "Wat Klang Nam" or "Wat Lang Por Pan" among the local residents, Wat Hong Thong was established on September 13, 1983. The temple received royal consecration on September 12, 1986, with a wide consecration area of 20 meters by 32 meters. Within the temple, a mental development center, a meditation hall, and a sacred stone platform were constructed, extending into the sea. Notably, the temple houses a stupa called "Phra That Kongkham Maha Chedi Pra Chao Kanon," the first of its kind worldwide, containing relics in the sea.

The lower level of the stupa features a pedestal for Luang Por Sotorn. The second level holds a lifelike honeybee-shaped image of Phra Mongkol Thep Munee, the deity of Pak Nam Sub-district. This level also houses the replica image of the Emerald Buddha or Phra Kaew Morakot. The topmost level contains the golden stupa with relics. Each level features mural paintings depicting Buddhist stories, including royal portraits from past to present, and the Great Wheel of Life.

One of the temple's highlights is the underwater ubosot, featuring a golden Buddha image and murals depicting Buddhist stories. At the back of the ubosot, there is a bronze-cast sculpture known as Phra Chao Borommawongthoe Chum Phon, a highly revered image. Additionally, the temple has a small golden chedi on the upper side.

Wat Hong Thong is also known for its special features, such as the central underwater ubosot, the golden Buddha image inside, and the mural paintings depicting Buddhist stories. The temple is a sacred site with several revered objects, including the "I Khai" spirit house, Luang Por To, Phra Mae Kongkha, and more.

Every year, during early April, the temple opens the opportunity for Buddhists to ordain as novices (nak kam map) in a special ceremony.

This Buddhist temple is built on stilts over the water and it's offering stunning views during high tide. During low tide the place is much less special. The a stroll around the temple and listen to the prayer bells sounds in the wind.

A beautiful Temple built out over the water. Off the beaten track but well worth a visit. Great little restaurant next door and new hotel being built.

Noce temple on the water. But during low tide, it looks much less beautiful. Many people to go there and lot of traffic.

This temple is visited mostly by locals. I was curious to visit as I love to drive my BMW e36 outside Bangkok. It is a nice place to walk around as it is by the ocean. It has a couple places you need to pay to use them. These are the elevator to take to a tower for a nice view and the glass bridge. Is not much to pay but the rest is free to walk around. The temple has plenty of parking. Also, you will enjoy watching the way of life of the locals around the temple. It is a beautiful scenery. Lots of seafood to buy and cook at home. You will enjoy visiting this place. I’m living in Bangkok and I just love exploring places like this away from the main city. Recommended

Nice quiet place on the waterfront. Brilliantly designed with intricate carvings. The temple looks marvelous looking out over the sea on the Gulf of Thailand. The best thing I liked here was its serenity. Not like other temples that are usually overcrowded. Visited it twice in a month.

Charming place. This temple is very different to other temples in Thailand. It is build on the water.
It is not very crowded and there are not many tourists, due to the location probably. Tranquil and relaxed.
Many cats inside :)

Very stunning temple which is unusually build over a quay on the sea, and offering a breath taking view at twilight.
