This sanctuary is well run, clean and all of the elephants are well maintained. All of the elephants that we encountered seem clean, healthy and happy. They are so friendly and fun. It’s a great experience the 1-year old baby is so cute

Ooh my God!! Fantastic experience and a MUST DO! Take care of the elephants, walk, play and roam with them. You will learn a lot more of them in a sustainable matter and without riding or touristic shows. This is nice eco-tourism!! 👍🏼👍🏼

Although I was very skeptical, I was nicely surprised by the staff and kind guide. We got a lot of explanations about the elephants; e.g. the differences between wild and “domesticated” ones, how this park came into existence, the environment and general life of the elephants. Every elephant has a mahout (“handler”) to take care of them, check on them, lead them to certain areas when they roam.
We were allowed to feed them multiple times, pet them, walk with them, cook for them, and bathe them. We were worried, because with the first feed they seemed very hungry. However the guide explained that we were feeding them their first dessert of the day (bananas and sugar canes). Indeed, at later feeds they ate much slower already.

I was pleasantly surprised how not-forced everything was. The elephants enjoyed themselves, walked everywhere they wanted, and were only stopped when they wanted to go into areas they weren’t allowed to (such as the dining area). Everything was respectful towards the animals, so I would recommend taking the whole day tour as well!

We have visited this Sanctuary on a Saturday in February with their whole day tour (from 08.30-15.00 back at hotel). There were only 6 people total in our group. The website lists things you need to bring, such as a swim suit/insect spray/sun screen. They offer a photo service throughout the day, so you don’t even need to bring your phone the entire time with you and you can just enjoy your time with the elephants. Incredible experience!

Incredible experience, very highly recommened. This santuary is one if the best as they only take small groups per day, so there was a lot of interactions with the elephants. The group was 17 people for nine elephants. We had an incredible time.

It' an elephant sanctuary where you can interact with the elephants in a respondible manner. You will be educated by the staff about the care they need and this is NOT a place where they do circus acts or where you can ride the elephants. The entry fee or a day long ticket where you get lot's of direct action with the animals goes all yo the wellfare of the elephants.

Pro - they love the elephants, you get a great experience feeding and giving the elephants baths. Elephants can do cute tricks.
Con - you don’t see much of the park and they don’t take credit cards. Highly recommend ❤

We had a great time at this elephant park. They treated the elephants very well not like some of the bad reviews about this place say. The tour guide was very friendly and helpful. We did the full day tour. Started of with some information about the elephants and where they come from. Then feeding the baby elephants and their moms. Then playing with other elephants and making and feeding sticky rice balls with banana and vitamins. After that you going for a swim and washing the elephants. They also prepare lunch for you, we had a vegetarian pad-thai and when the day is over there is watermelon, pineapple and cookies waiting for you.

The Baan Chang Elephant Park is a rescue organization that has 44 elephants from all over Thailand. The day begins by changing into outfits that the park provides, then getting your lunch and a bag of cut sugar cane. Then meeting the elephants and feeding them the sugar cane before walking the elephants through a jungle path. We ate lunch while the elephants ate more plants. Then we walked them back to the camp and bathed them.

Really a fantastic experience to have an intimate connection to these wonderful animals.

The trainers are extremely professional. And the clothes they provide are clean and save you from the elephant dirt. The lunch they provide is tasty and hygienic. Highly recommend this place for your visit.

Come here to feed, ride and bathe elephants. Staff is very friendly and the elephants have a personality of their own: naughty, playful and stubborn. But it is all great fun. 👍

My husband and I had an awesome experience. We had an opportunity to experience the elephants up close and personal. We fed them, made special food for them, and gave them a bath. We had a memorable experience that will last a lifetime. Our guide, Chin, made a delicious meal and held our hand throughout our time there. Thank you for everything.

Indescribably beautiful and a wonderful experience. Everyone should go to Baan Chang and relax. Excellent guides, and opportunities to play with elephants, all rescued from circuses, work, or other places. 49 elephants at present, with two infants, one just two weeks old and another four months old on my visit in March 2017. Gorgeous. Also have a chance to see paper recycling from elephant poo poo - not smelly, just processed cellulose. The elephants eat 10% of their body weight per day. Chance to give the elephants a scrub in the pool, walk, feed, and stroke. Best fetaure was the elephant trunk neck hug - their trunks are so soft and warm - unique feeling, with a burst of hot breath through the embrace. No fear. Extra clothes required, but the Park also supply blue uniforms, have a lock up closet, and serve food and snacks. Extra cold water to carry around to keep hydrated. Everything thought of. Have to be fit to walk with the elephants - they take YOU for a walk! Support Baan Chang Elephant Park. Beware, you need to fly from Bangkok's second airport by Asia Air - book ahead as the airline is very busy. Otherwise, it's an 8 to 10 hour drive. Flight is cheap. Spend two days there. I went for a day and regretted leaving so soon.

Loved, loved, loved this place. The whole day was amazing. Ethical and genuine elephant sanctuary looking after domesticated elephants whom originate from various backgrounds. Absolutely no riding. Very educational. I feel so privileged that I have had the opportunity to interact with these gorgeous, intelligent animals. From feeding them bananas and sugar cane, to walking with them as they forage, witnessing how they interact with each other and people, washing them and making/feeding them vitamin balls I thoroughly enjoyed every single second. Every member of the work team was fantastic from the guide, to the driver, the mahouts and their families who live in the sanctuary too to be close to their charges, the ladies who prepared us a fabulous lunch and the no-pressure photographer. The day was well organised and yet relaxed. To be honest...I didn't want to leave! Would highly recommend.

Really nice elephant sanctuary, explaining and guiding was very good. Really had the feeling the elephants were having a good time there. You were allowed to feed them and bath with them, also possible for longer tours to also mud bath with them and some more playing. I personally think about 2 to 3 hours with them is long enough. The lunch we had was great to, so were the sanitary facilities. Toilets and shower were working properly.

We did the full day Elephant experience. Dang picked us up at our hotel at 8:30. The group was small with only two more pick ups. The first stop was the elephant poo poo park, which was interesting and fun. The rest of the day we spent playing with baby and adult elephants; feeding them and bathing them and just walking with them. We had a great time!! Highly recommend. There were only 8 people in our group and we met probably around 12 elephants throughout the day. It was exactly what we were looking for. The lunch was delicious and everyone at the sanctuary was very kind and attentive to both us and the animals. Thank you Dang and crew for a wonderful experience!!

I can't recommend this elephant Park enough we had such a beautiful experience spending time caring for the elephants and learning about them. The staff was great and spent a lot of time preparing us for our time with the elephants. From feeding the elephants, taking them on a nature walk, lunching with them, having the opportunity to scrub them down in a pond, it was surreal real and beautiful experience.

We made sure we found a company that did not allow you to ride the elephants as most elephants are rehabilitating from a life of abuse. It was a blessing to be up close and personal with these ginormous and amazing animals!
