Perception Blind Massage

After several recommendations, I personally went in to Perception Blind Massage to see what all the fuss was. Well it's a gem hidden in plain sight on Thapae Road. See the pictures and page link.

You walk in and it's very nicely decorated inside and much nicer than many of the standard massage places along Thapae Road. You are welcomed and given several options for your massage from Thai style to oil and aromatherapy. Then you are given a delicious tea to drink and a sheet for recording your details and preferences, which is another level of service to identify how they can best assist you to have the best massage experience during your visit. The form also includes areas to avoid and areas to focus on, so be sure to carefully mark these sections.

You are also given a card detailing your massage therapist's name and other details, which gives you a feeling of connectedness.

You are led through the spa section and up to the second floor massage area past some thoughtful wall decorations. The minimally lit massage area is around 10 curtained off massage tables. Your massage clothing is laid folded at the end of each bed and you are given a chance to change whilst they bring your therapist to you.

I made a slight mistake for going for medium to hard strength massage on the form, but my massage although painful at times was wonderful in the following days. I got what I asked for and during the massage and could adapt a little along the way. Mr Ped(Diamond, in Thai) was my massage therapist and his wife also worked at Perception since it started. He has 12 years massage experience and you definitely felt that through the massage.

The therapists are all selected and tested by the owners and are regularly upgraded and learn methods for better massage all round. Let's just say the experience was much better than any previous massage, I have experienced. I am not a regular massage receiver, but maybe one day.

The session flew by, and I was feeling wonderfully refreshed while feeling a little tender in spots, the hallmark of a good massage. The therapist left me to change back into my clothes and I returned to reception taking a few pics along the way.

We settled everything as I sipped a hot tea and ate a couple of cookies. It was a fantastic experience and definitely worth a little bit more than your average massage experience in Chiang Mai.

One of the best things about Chiang Mai is this spot, definitely should be included in your top 10 things to do in this city! Besides getting the best, very professional massage you are supporting a good cause and helping blind people have a better life. The masseuses have very developed tactile abilities with sensitive perception by touch and can locate and work on spots on your body you didn’t even know needed attention.. my masseuse knew in a couple of seconds after examining my arm that I had an accident... and it happened sooo long ago when I was a child so that I even forgot all about it ...

Sip on some tea as you wait for your masseuse to find her way to you - on the way to the massage room, you’ll be inspired by unique spiritual sayings on the walls. As you lay down and have your muscles and joints kneaded back to health, you’ll notice that making “ugly”faces when you are in pain won’t help you here. Amazing bodywork!

This was the most intuitive massage I have ever had. It was a touch more expensive than other massage places in the area, but their service, cleanliness and skillset of the massage far exceeds the 100 baht ($5 CAD) difference in price. I highly recommend you give this a try when in Chiang Mai, it's something to experience!

Great blind massage!!! The therapist is polite and professional, great service! They serve tea before and after the massage which is very thoughtful. Tips appreciated and you can handle it to your therapist directly. Still a good choice even it is a little bit expensive than normal one, but how great it is enjoying great massages and supporting blind therapist at the same time!!!

I first came here in 2017 and the masseuse I had then was called Khun Koi. She is absolutely amazing and did wonders for the tension in my muscles. I always had aroma massage therapy for at least an hour and a half, sometimes 2 hours.

I was here again tonight and was lucky to have her massage me again. She even remembered the sound of my voice. This time I got a package; a combination of aroma and Thai massage for 2.5 hours. It was fantastic!

I even got to meet the owner and he was very kind and easy to talk to. All the staff are friendly and took good care of me.

This is one of the most excellent massages I have ever had. Yes, it’s on the pricier side for a Thai massage, but it’s worth it. Everything was very well laid out and very professional. They give you a brief rundown of your massage therapist before you go into the room with them. Would definitely go back.

Very professional and clean place. I had a fantastic thai massage and the masseur was really skilled, able to spot knots all over my body. You are in a dark room, very quiet. This is pricey (400 per hour, twice the price compare to surrounding places) but totally worth it.

While the prices here are certainly double anywhere else in Chiang Mai, the quality is well worth the price. In the US, 1-hr massages are often $65 on the cheap no frills end, but typically $120+, so ~$15 for an hour (450 baht) of quality body work is such a steal. I opted for the 90 minute Thai Massage, and they had a promotion for 100 baht off of you get 90 or 120 minutes. I was paired with Aom. She is small, but my goodness is she strong. I was very tight everywhere, and she really granted me a lot of relief. Very professional, sweet, and talented. She also made sure to check in on me regularly to make sure I wasn’t in pain. Felt AMAZING afterwards. Everyone that I encountered here were very pleasant and helpful as well. Highly recommend!

Quite a nice place to have a different massage experience. I particularly liked how they dimmed the room to make it more calming. The staff I've spoke with are well versed in English and they communicate your needs to the masseur. My masseur worked the knots in my back and neck area that I didn't know existed. The technique is different from what I am used to, but it works!

I cannot rate this place highly enough. Aside from offering a fantastic massage, the staff and masseuses are super friendly and can tailor you massage to how strong or soft you like it. Bear in mind the massage room has very thin windows so you can hear the cars outside but when you’re in the zone you’ll soon be blanking that out.

My wife is Thai and we often go for a massage when we visit Thailand. This time she recommended we go to the Perception Blind Massage

I went for the Thai Massage and specified the areas where the most work was required.

Afterwards I felt a big improvement in my low back and neck which had been giving me trouble for a few days.

I would thoroughly recommend going here at least once, and please make sure you tip, the economy has not been good to Masseuses recently and those struggling with disabilities are even harder hit.

Honestly worth the money! They give you hot tea and a cold towel press when you first arrive, then you fill out your massage preferences and they give you little friendly background cards so you can choose which masseur you'd like! Mr.Tip was so lovely and friendly! Definitely will come again!

I had a Head, Back, and Shoulder massage with Koy. I wanted deep pressure, and she did so, right from the beginning. She was amazing and intuitive. I have chronic pain and she really did a wonderful job loosening up tight muscles. Ask for her if you go! She was very professional, and the ambience was ideal for a massage.

I will return a few more times during my stay in Chiang Mai. :)

A MUST visit! My husband and I are health professionals and during our 4 week visit in Chiang Mai, we visited many of the highest recommended massage places around. We experienced good, great and never forget massages. Perception qualifies as never forget.

The entire staff are highly skilled and professional. They deliver a comfy change of clothing, offer reasonable pricing, and have a comfortable & clean space. They have many skilled therapists. On different occasions we were both able to have a massage by Ped, an experienced therapist with over 11+ years of experience. He is the most focused and skilled deep tissue therapist we have ever experienced. We also highly recommend Aom, Koi and Korn.

Also, if you have the privilege of receiving a massage from one of these highly skilled therapists, please remember to tip them fairly/generously as they really are providing a service that enhances quality of health/life.

I requested 1 hour head neck back massage. I like the questionnaire at the beginning which allows you to specify how strong you want the massage, areas to avoid, areas to focus. The lighting is great, music is soothing. One of the better ones in Chiang Mai!

There are so many places to have a massage in Chiang Mai, but I would highly recommend a visit to Perception Blind Massage. It was an amazing massage and the masseuses and staff were very friendly and professional. So glad our search lead us to them. 😀
