Away Chiang Mai Thapae Resort - A Vegan Retreat

This place was as beautiful as advertised, their vegan food is so good you won't even miss meat! We picked the room where you can swim up from the pool, and it was worth every penny because we were able to take a quick dip whenever we wanted. Their staff was friendly and helpful, and there's a security guard at the front entrance 24/7. It's a very close talk to the moat and a the markets. My only regret is that I couldn't take their cooking class. They say that you need to give them 1-day's notice, and they actually mean 24 hours. I asked to be registered the night before and they could not make arrangements in time. We will definitely be back though, so it's something to look forward to for next time!

I loved my stay here. The fully vegan buffet has a variety of options (including vegan pastries, sausages, curries soymilk etc).
The pool is clean and beautiful, it was quiet usually so I had a lot of space to swim.
All the water is provided in glass bottles so there is less plastic waste.
The reception is really helpful, I needed a package delivered and they were willing to receive it for me.

We absolutely loved our stay at Away Chiang Mai as it was the perfect start to our honeymoon adventure! We loved the close proximity to be able to walk around the city & come back to a nice, cool room when it was hot in the afternoon! Pool was absolutely spotless every day. The vegan breakfast buffet is one that I will dream of until we meet again one day! 🥲 Everything from service, location, food & everything else in between was absolutely perfect! The cute little frog noises outside of the room really reminded you that you're in a beautiful, tropical paradise! You won't regret staying at this beautiful hotel. Thank you again!!!

Lovely vegan resort! So close to city center, yet quiet and peaceful. Staff, service, food and rooms were all lovely 😊 We booked through Agoda and had difficulty as we wanted a suite but for some reason couldn’t get that booking. Finally just booked a regular room. However, on arrival we told the staff we were celebrating our anniversary and they upgraded us to a suite! Also gave us a complementary afternoon tea. Wonderful experience.

Just arrived at the airport and couldn’t wait to write a 5 star review for the Resort. Stayed here for a week and every single staff member we met was sublime: Alex, Nook, Kat, Fern, Orn, Ya, Som and more….
They were so friendly, patient, thoughtful and helpful and made our stay incredibly enjoyable! We could see the tremendous amount of effort they had contributed. The food was very delicious and beautifully presented, room service was quick and clean, all the facilities were in good shape! We thank you heartily and see you next time!

The hotel is awesome. Restaurant is pricey but delicious. Rooms are big and very clean. AC is working good. Staff is super friendly and helpful. Location is near the eastern wall/entrance to the city center.
But: there are a lot of frogs at the resort which do some noise at night which you can hear inside your room. But we got used to it in our second night.

Great hotel to stay in. We had a end of terrace room on the top level. Room was quiet and clean. Bed was comfy. All staff were friendly and helpful. We only had breakfast at the hotel restraunt and it was yummy.

It's really good vegan hotel. The bed is very important to me and super relax. Big bathroom. They have afternoon dessert buffet. That's cool! Super fulle when stayed here. Super good location can walk to Tha Phar gate and close to massage in temple

We enjoyed our stay at Away Chiang Mai. The room was nicely decorated in contemporary style and clean.

The hotel provided mainly vegetarian food. We know ahead of time and like the food.

The hotel staff were polite and friendly.

The alley was narrow to get to the hotel and limited parking area.

This is true vegan paradise! Everything was perfect. We tried cooking classes, massages, reiki... The staff is very friendly and helpful. We look forward to coming here again.

Beautiful vegan resort in a great part of town. We are both vegans from Australia and really loved our stay here, it was the best vegan accommodation that we stayed at in Vietnam, Thailand and Cambodia. We had the pool room which was a great choice. We could walk straight out onto the pool in the morning.

The rooms are stunning and the breakfast buffet is incredible. So many delicious options every day. The staff also clean the rooms each day which is really appreciated. We love the location too - we were so close to Thae Pae Gate were lots of new years celebrations were happening and walking into old town is really quick and easy.

Our time at Away was beatiful, magical, and a vegan paradise. We will definitely be back and highly recommend to any vegans staying in Chiang Mai.

This golden spot in charming Chiang Mai was all we wanted it to be. It's such a quaint and pretty place to stay in. The fact that the restaurant is 100% plant-based meant that we could blindly eat anything we wanted, and this made our stay even more enjoyable!

The staff is very polite and their customer-centric training is very evident in the way they handle their customers. I must mention Nop at the reception and Andy at the restaurant for the way they went out of their way to make our stay extra special; the super service of all the other staff members deserves a mention as well.

My stay at this vegan hotel was truly exceptional. Beyond the delicious and healthy cuisine available to all, the rooms were fantastic, offering both comfort and style. The hotel's location is also ideal, making it convenient to explore the surroundings. This is a fabulous location. Super modern and the staff is amazingly friendly and service oriented. The rooms are big and comfortable and you cannot beat the location. I'd highly recommend to someone staying short term or for a longer vacation. It's a great place for a yoga retreat and I look forward to working with this place more in the future!

My family and I highly enjoyed our stay at this hotel. What a lovely clean hotel with a nice size swimming pool. The room was large, bright, clean, and beautiful. The wifi was fantastic. Location wise, it is great as it's conveniently situated very close to the amazing old city gate. Also, there's good restaurants and shops located around the area. Due to this hotel being a vegan hotel, the breakfast served is all vegan, and we were all quite happy with it. The food was delicious and tasty. I am very impressed with the professionalism and enthusiasm of all the lovely happy staff here, especially Alex. What a lovely bunch of people. Highly recommended and will certainly stay here again when we do decide to go back to Chiang Mai for a holiday.

As a vegan, this was the best hotel experience I’ve ever had! The breakfast buffet had so many options, and I knew I could eat everything. I also paid for ‘half board’, meaning that I got a second meal every day. I highly recommended this option!! You can choose lunch or dinner. It’s a 3-course meal with a drink, and there are so many great choices! The room was large and had all the amenities you might expect from a hotel.

Absolutely the best hotel I've ever stayed in. Vegan or not, this is an exceptional hotel! Rooms are beautifully furnished, cozy, and extremely clean. The pool is lovely.

The restaurant is great and the food is delicious! The breakfast is also wonderful - will make any vegan smile and my omni boyfriend also loved it.

All the staff are so kind and helpful. Could not recommend Away more!! ☺
