Wat Khao Sukim
Situated on a hill covering an area of some 1,320 acres, Wat Khao Sukim was built in 1966 by devout Buddhists with the objective to be used as a meditation venue. The expansive temple compound offers a peaceful haven surrounded by shady orchards. The temple also houses a large collection of religious items and valuable antiques donated by the public. On display are wax sculptures of over twenty Buddhist monks that are highly revered from Buddhists. In the temples, newly built Ubosot (ceremonial hall) contains mural painting created by Chakrabhand Posayakrit, National Thai Artist in Painting. Opening hours: 8am-5pmGetting there: The temple is near Khao Khitchakut National Park, 20 kilometres from downtown Chanthaburi and can be reached through three accesses branching off Sukhumvit Road (Highway No. 3):- at Km. 305 (Ban Huai Sathon); at the Ban Noen Sung intersection; or at Km. 324 (Khao Rai Ya

Nice and holy place for Buddhists and travellers. There is a big museum where you can enjoy and learn the history from antique items at the temple. Kids also can enjoy feeding big fishes and turtles at the pond.

WAT KHAO SUKIM AT CHANTHABURI
Wat Khao Sukim is 17km inland from Sukhumvit #3 the main road south heading towards Trat/Koh Chang. Several roads lead there. Buddhism has been a significant part of daily Thai lives for almost 1,000 years before modern-day Thailand was even born. It penetrates every part of their society, so you can never truly understand Thailand or the Thai people unless you get to experience their Buddhist temples and festivals.
Thailand is a truly remarkable nation in culture, religion, and temples. If you are a fan of culture and want to experience the real Thai way, visiting one of its thousands of Buddhist temples is best. And although Chanthaburi has dozens, if you want to visit one of the best, we would recommend you visit Wat Khao Sukim.
Also, if you are traveling through the beautiful Chanthaburi region in eastern Thailand and want to explore the area’s Buddhist roots, then you should continue reading.

The most unique about this Wat are all the impressive large Chinese ceramic vases housed in different rooms, I jawdropped. There are also many wax figures of famous monks done very well(more realistic looking than those by Madam Taussand, especially their eyes) but I find the most precious thing to see are the sariras(舍利子)a kind of rare relics found in some monks' ashes after cremation. They look like crystals. I think most foreign visitors missed to see them.
Eat well before you visit as the stalls selling freshly cooked food is filled with flies. You can see at least 30 of them trying to get near your food at any moment. No cafe. Free entrance, please donate, have lift in the building and very fast free tram service to take you up and down or you can just walk, very short distance.

Never expected to see such huge temple premise .. Huge as in the whole mountain belonging to the temple! Currently, the Chedi is under construction. If you are inside the open air chedi, the winds breezes in strong and provides a really cool shelter from the extremely weather in Thailand. Serene and quiet. Great place to learn and practice meditation from Ajahn Anan, a discipline of the famous forest tradition meditation master.
