Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception, Chanthaburi

If you’re a Catholic, I highly recommend to see this historic cathedral. This is always my purpose of coming back to Chantaburi

During the Holy Week, I visited this cathedral and was struck by its beauty, as well as the warmth of the people there. Even though I'm not a Christian, I could appreciate the holy atmosphere of the place. The interior design is impressive and exudes a sense of reverence.

One of the most memorable moments was when the people there generously gave out free eggs, which was a touching gesture. I was also impressed by the welcoming nature of the church people who made me feel included despite not being part of their faith. Overall, it was a wonderful experience that left a lasting impression on me.

Definitely worth stopping ! Beautiful cathedral. As the time I was here I couldn’t access in because of a ceremony. I save it for next time then!
Near the cathedral you can walk along the river it’s really beautiful, and authentic. Away from touristic area.

This cathedral was claimed to be the most beautiful in Thailand and we are quite agree. The day we visit has not much visitors despite the long holidays. They are now managed that visitors has to queue in the small group and they show short video showing the history of the place , after that , visitors can walk around and they requested that visitors should not take improper selfie.

The Cathedral with more than 300 years of existence, with many imprints with local people. In the campus around the church, there is a kindergarten, a funeral home...

This Cathedral is very very beautiful. It's Gothic style and look like France and Italy mix it together.

Incredible cathedral of Chanthaburi. This is one of the best tourist attractions you should not miss. Nice building with beautiful statue of Maria set with natural sapphires. ♥

One of the most tourist attraction and UNSEEN in Chantaburi province.
With its two towers of classic Gothic style, it became the symbol of the city where a statue of the Virgin Mary stands a few meters in front of the main entrance of the building. Today they close for visiting inside the classy and shady stained glasses dispict various saints, but you can walk around outside. Across the river is an old town Chantabun community. If you plan to travel in Chantaburi, don't miss it.

It was surprising to find a Catholic cathedral in the centre of a Thai town. Old Town is nearby, so it makes for a good day of tourism.

It was an extraordinary experience to find this large Catholic cathedral in the middle of Buddhist Thailand. A simple but worth seeing cathedral. I will definitely visit the cathedral again.

The Cathedral of Immaculate Conception of Chanthaburi is definitely the must visit if you are in this city.

The church carries similar design with the Notre Dame in Paris but with black and white finishing. It stands out from its neighborhood and looks amazing well from across the river too. Unfortunately there were canopies setup beside the church that I can get some nice side profile of this beautiful Cathedral.

The working cathedral has a beautiful interior too, together witha beautiful glittering statue of Mother Mary.

The church is open for visitors at specific hours in the morning and afternoon and there is even a caretaker that will help you answer any questions on the church but in Thai.

Wow worthy place to visit. This awesome Catholic Cathedral is located right in Chanthaburi town. If you are into architecture, you can't miss this place. Its Gothic-style altar is as famous as its beautiful ceiling. The cathedral is said to have been built over hundred years ago but the Catholic community there existed for over 300 years. Highlight of the place is the Virgin Mary's statue stunningly decorated with precious gemstones.

Roman Catholic Cathedral in Chanthaburi province Thailand since 1944. The area surrounded by old vintage village you can talk a walk around the cathedral: foods, street arts, workshop and museum.
If you cross the river also find walking street old town Chanthaburi which have many things unique.

Nice and Majestic! Though it wasn't open when I was there, it was an awesome trip. Paid 20baht for parking beside. Nice walk around. Must go.

Nice to see a great cathedral for Catholic believers, there are actually a lot of catholic churches in the area but this cathedral is not to be missed. beautiful architecture and clean , too.

There are shops surrounding the cathedral, cheap souvenirs and a few steps away from the historical river, with vintage shops in it.
The cathedral is only open during scheduled mass so make sure to check their schedule before visiting.

One of the popular photogenic landmark in Chanthaburi.It doesn't matter whether you are christian or not, they welcome everyone. This is a largest Catholic church in Thailand. The location is nice, really close to the river and community.

Simply an amazing experience to see the Cathedral of Mary Immaculate Conception in Thailand a d to learnt about the history of the Catholics in this community at this geographical location for the last 300 years. A place of serenity and beauty. Very well maintained. A close knitted community that also consist of the local township and school. Do visit this place if you are nearby. A unique experience in Thailand.
