I seldom write comments. But it is worth writing for this amazing tour. Definitely 5 Stars without doubt. We joined the Half Day Morning Elephant Sanctuary Tour at Blue Tao Elephant Village, Jungle Waterfall Trail in April 2023. It was a fantastic and unforgettable tour. The Blue Elephant staff treat Elephants so gently and respectfully, elephants can stop to rest, play with the sand…do anything they want during the trip. I highly recommend you to join this Elephant tour. We had great memories with Elephants. (We took more than 200 photos 😉) We enjoy and like this tour sooo much. Special thanks our tour guide, Mr. Winai!

If you are looking for the Elephant tour, Blue Elephant is your BEST choice!!!

My partner and I done a tour with Blue Elephant and we have nothing but good things to say. First of all, Lida is an amazing tour guide with extensive knowledge. We learnt so much about the tribe and their elephants. We were lucky enough to be the only ones on our tour and therefore had numerous times on the trip to really get up close and personal with the elephants. Lida also took amazing photos throughout our tour which we will cherish forever. The hike they take you on is breathtaking, I cannot recommend these guys enough. To end an already perfect day - the lovely ladies at Blue Elephant prepared an amazing lunch for us. Our favourite excursion we have EVER and probably will ever do. If you are ever in Chiang Mai - DO NOT MISS THIS !

We took a morning tour. It was really great experience that we’ll remember until end of our lives!
Guys are taking really good care of the elephants that they rescued from other regions of Thailand.
Nuka is a great guide - she told us a lot about her country, her tribe, animals and also had shown us the farm life.
Also, the elephants looked really happy.

We had a great time during our Blue Elephant tour and would highly recommend it! It was amazing to be out there with the elephants, feeding them, hugging and cuddling them and - not to forget - bathing with the elephants in the river and cleaning them! Mr Billy told us a lot of interesting things about thee elphants and the staff was very helpful. This tour is not to be missed on any trip to Chiang Mai!!

Great tour. All worked very well. Billy was a great tour guide. He was after every small detail. The young guys taking care of elephants were very nice as well. The sanctuary jas three elements elephant. You have to help prepare food and help them bathing in the river. Great experience.

Traveled to Thailand in December 2022. We held off on booking a tour in advance as we wanted some local input on which sanctuary was best. We got pointed to you Blue Elephant and were very happy with our experience.

Toto was guide and arranged with our driver and picked us up right from our Air BnB. We got to make the elephants food, meet/feed them in their pen, and then take a wonderful hike though a wooded trail with some amazing views and see their handlers gentle/unique tree relationship with each Chang. Lunch was great and we even got to bath then under a waterfall.

Highly recommend!

Had an amazing time at blue elephant tours. The guides were kind and the elephants seemed to be well taken care of. I think the half day experience would have sufficed. Overall amazing once in a lifetime experience.

Miss Lida (our guide) was so attentive and had lots of suggestions for us within the tour and musts while in Chiang Mai. Also, Miss Lida shared interesting facts about the Elephants/Karen tribe history. Really enjoyed our day from 7:30 am till drop off. The falls, the cave, the lunch feast they served us we're delicious! Followed by white water rafting, then our precious Elephants memories. The owner was such a cool uncle, and the farm was so peaceful. We had a light dinner with fresh fruits

Our experience with Blue Elephant Thailand Tours was life-changing. We got picked up from our apartment and driven to the site to spend the day with the elephants. We were welcomed with food and drinks and the elephants were amazing. We went on a hike with them as the tour guide told us about them. The day ended with an early delicious dinner and a trip back. We highly recommend this to anyone, even those with kids.

My husband and I travelled to Thailand for our Honeymoon, Chiang Mai being the second stop on our trip. I highly recommend if you are going to visit Chiang Mai, this tour is a must! Simon, our tour guide, was incredible. He was very knowledgeable with any questions we had, it seems like all of the locals knew him and he was well respected. He was very kind to us, and he even offered to take pictures for us. We booked the full day tour where we got to see the Mae Ya Waterfall, the summit of Doi Inthanon Mountain, the Twin Royal Pagodas, have lunch at Tree House Good View (which was an incredible view), and end at the Blue Tao Elephant Village.
The whole trip was just breathtaking, and our favorite part of our whole Thailand trip so far. Simon was with us for a full 12 hours, and couldn’t have been more amazing on this day.

This is a bit more of a luxury tour if you get the full 2 days and 1 night package. You are mostly paying for the amazing accommodations of staying in a luxury tree house in the middle of the wilderness because I’ve seen tours with the same amount of activities for a fraction of the price. I can’t compare how worthwhile those are though because I’ve only gone on this one. I quite enjoyed the experience as a whole, although it was a tad overpriced. The photos were worth it to me and the feel of sleeping in nature with the full mountain views while still having the comforts of a hotel. The place was very clean and comfortable, although when we went, it was newly built. So I’m not sure how the infrastructure would hold up over time. The tour guide and owner was very nice and accommodating, they provided everything that we needed and I had hands down the best meal in Thailand here. As well as the fact of eating it outside with the mountains right next to us was amazing. Sadly, we did not see any stars but I still had some amazing photos.
Accommodations aside, the rest of the activities involved were decent. The highlight is definitely the elephant sanctuary where they do not allow riding since a few years back and the elephants are well taken care of and happy. I would recommend bringing boots to this if you’re going during the rainy season because it was super muddy and slippery for us. Washing the elephants was definitely a fun experience, very hands and and you get right into the fray of things as well as feeding them.
Our tour guide Bob was great, he was very friendly and tried his best to answer all our questions, he was very knowledgeable about herbs and plants that we saw, telling us random facts, joking around, and entertaining us with some magic tricks, as well as things regarding the Karen tribe. I really enjoyed visiting them and learning about their culture.
The tiger kingdom was interesting, I was happy to visit them and see the tigers.
The zip lining was decent, I would’ve liked to stay there longer and participate in some of the other activities that the park had to offer because the zip line was over pretty quick.
I enjoyed the hike up to the temple and seeing the gigantic statue along the way.
The bamboo rafting sounds a lot better in theory than the actual activity as the water is completely brown and you’re sitting on the raft where your bum gets soaked and the rest of your body gets splashed every few mins. I was a tad concerned about something scratching me from under the raft if it coincidentally fits between the slits of the bamboo.
The butterfly orchid was a let down as there were no butterflies this time of year and we essentially went to see a few rows of plants and flowers.
The waterfall was a disappointment because there was no view, the water was brown as it rained that day and mud mixed in, it was a very long drive to get there and a 10min walk through a muddy, wet, and insect filled path.
Overall, this tour was worth it to me, although I wouldn’t mind if some of the activities were switched out for other things.

Had the best experience of my life spending time with the elephants and the people who takes care of them such a kindly, friendly and respectful people.

We made the food to feed them , took pictures and went hiking with the elephants.
After coming back the lady made home fresh food for lunch .

Thank you so much for everything.

Highly recommended! We had an incredible experience. The owner of the sanctuary comes down once a year to provide food for the local villages & treat the elephants to a massive buffet, we were lucky enough to experience that with them. The elephants are cared for with a lot of love & the tour guides/elephants carers were very friendly & informative. Special thanks to Mr. Winai our tour guide & Surin the owner of the sanctuary. Overall was an incredible experience and I’d highly recommend to anyone in Chang mai!

Seriously amazing. From the bamboo raft, to the Kayan tribe, the treehouse lunch, Buddha on the hill, and the elephants it was the perfect day. Huge shoutout to our tour guide Lida who is an earth angel. The locals who work for this company are happy people with pride in their country.

We loved our experience with the Elephants. We really enjoyed hiking with them, and LOVED our traditional lunch we had, while looking over the water fall. We really loved having Bob as our tour guide, he made a huge impact on our holiday in Thailand. He was funny, knowledgeable and a great tour guide!!

Couldn't have had a better experience! Hotel pick up, safe drive, wonderful experience learning about the country and elephants... the hike was beautiful to a lovely waterfall. I've never felt more safe around these gentle giants with the companies guides. The lunch was amazing! I highly recommend this trip!

Amazing day with the gentle giants. I have previously visited other camps but I especially like the layout of this one (with trek included). It allowed you to have personal time with the elephants, that I haven’t had in other camps. Not too crowded, just a couple groups, that made it extra special. Food, foot spa and staff all amazing! 10/10 :)

This experience was immediately a core memory. We all loved Bob our “guide” and it was such an intimate time with the elephants (3 of them 5 of us). It was so sweet getting to go on a hike with them and truly spend our entire experience loving on and getting loved on by the elephants. Don’t be scared of the kisses!
