The market offers mainly home-made products. The atmosphere here is calm, even idyllic. The market is not crowded and the walk around the canal is pleasant. If someone prefers quieter places, Khlong Mae Kha is a must. Most stalls open around 6 PM, especially after sunset.

Nice ambiance for a walk and chill. Parking is available, but a fee applied. Recommend to come here after 15h and during weekend for animated place. However, during the week and morning time are quite calm and free from tourists.

15/Nov
This night market is off from the old city and I heard it is quite new. Thus it is not crowded as the other night markets in the old city.
The stores are along both side of the river or canal. Basically only 2 rows of stores not big night market. Price here is also a bit cheaper than other night market.
Come before the sunset and have a nice view of the stores by river side.

It's definitely a more laid-back area than any nearby bazaars and night markets. Strewn along the banks of Mae Kha River are shop owners who open up their front/back doors of their homes as business shops! The handicrafts here are more from Hmong, Lanna, and Karen cultures. You can see shop keepers relating to one another in this neighborhood, very different feel from any competitive night markets and bazaars. Try some of the food stalls here, they are surprisingly good and very affordable indeed! Enjoy yourselves! God bless! 😁👍👌✝❤

Cozy strall with family. Many souvenir stalls. Children singing performance. Best time to go around sunset hours, like 430pm. Reflection on river is nice view for photography.

Once was an area where is known to locals but now is a new attraction. The canal was revitalised in recent years. The area is well maintained. It is popular for locals and others for evening walk. It is quiet during the day but it gives a different mood of calm and peaceful.

A beautiful place to stroll. We were there on a beautiful, cloudy morning. Restaurants and coffee cafes abound. Flowers, murals, running water, food, coffee, cold beers, and smoking areas. I think they have it covered. I would also add IG worthy. We will definitely return for another stroll.❤

New place that great to visit.
They have a lot of improvement from abandoned canal to be a beautiful canal with beautiful walking street beside Khlong Mae Kha canal (a lot of arts and shop along the canal).
You can use public transportation or parking in parking lot nearby the place (of course its not free😅)
I recommend to visit in both daylight and night light, because they have a difference feeling ❤❤

Escape the crowds at Khlong Mae Kha! Weekdays offer a peaceful escape to enjoy winter's crisp air and delectable local foods. Be prepared for some shops to be closed, adding to the charm of this hidden gem. It's like taking a mini-trip to Japan without leaving Chiang Mai!

Lovely stroll along a lovely lit canal with lots of local artisan artists, grab a beer, coffee. Juice bar and a good few food offers. Feels homely and you can stroll at a nice pace and take it all in. Will vary some nights when like the Sunday Market is on but definitely worth a visit. A local band created a great ambience and was great to chill and enjoy a cold beer.

Khlong Mae Kha is a charming and colorful canal village that offers a glimpse of the local culture and lifestyle in Chiang Mai. I visited this place on a weekday afternoon and was pleasantly surprised by the variety of shops, stalls, and restaurants that lined the canal. I enjoyed walking along the canal and crossing the two orange bridges that resembled the ones in Japan. I also stopped by some of the souvenir shops that sold ethnic handicrafts and clothing from the hill tribes that live in the area. The prices were reasonable and the quality was good. Khlong Mae Kha is a great place to visit if you want to experience a different side of Chiang Mai, away from the crowded and touristy areas. It is easy to access from the city center by taking a red truck or a taxi. The canal is open from 4 pm to 10 pm every day, but it might be more crowded on weekends. I recommend visiting Khlong Mae Kha if you are looking for a relaxing and enjoyable evening in Chiang Mai. P/s: The canal is a bit smelly :)

It's a lovely place to have a walk or look for souvenirs/clothes/foods. There are various stalls along the little canal, which are owned by the inhabitants of the adjacent houses, and different tiny restaurants in the area.
During the night, light bulbs will be turned on and they will create a delightful atmosphere. Sometimes, there will be local musicians and dancers that will make you smile.
I suggest you take a look on your own and have fun with the locals.

If you want a leisure time walking and enjoying the products from the local norther people, you should come here.

You can find souvenirs, food and desserts here too. There are so many spots to take photos.

You can take a red minibus here or there’s a car park nearby, so easy. I think the perfect time to visit this place is around 4.30 - 5 pm. as it won’t be so hot and all of the shops open already.

Delicious espresso! One of the best coffees I ever drank. Very nice bar with comfortable seating overlooking the canal. Good cold Singha beer as well and many locals visiting. Recommended!

Great place to stroll. Food and gift vendors are standard street fare. Many more restaurant choices are nearby on Kamphaeng Din Rd. Plenty of parking for cars at 40 baht or less.
It wasn’t a problem for us but, at this time, there are no railings between pedestrians and the canal. Keep a firm grip on children and grandparents.

Enjoyable walk! I made mistake of coming early, around 3.30. Luckily, I parked with paid spot and the lady has given me an umbrella to use and hide from the sun.

It is so beautiful, with lots of trees and flowers, peaceful and picturesque.

I recently visited the Mae Klong River and was impressed with my experience. The area was very clean and well-maintained, which made me feel more comfortable during my visit. The river is quite popular among tourists, and I can see why.

The flowers lining the river were beautiful, and I even encountered a friendly and affectionate cat that made my visit even more enjoyable.

The food and drinks available were also very affordable, and the locals were all very friendly and welcoming.

Honestly go at sunset. And you'll get some amazing pictures out of it. There's some cute local stalls you can visit too. Food option is limited but it's worth a trip. Definitely got late night date vibes.

I went this area on afternoon around 3:30 and there were not too many people. around 4:30 to 5:00 a lot of people started to coming in maybe to see the sunset. It was very nice that local children were running around and having fun, and seeing artistic walls and decorations. It was interesting that many food places seemed to be inspired by Japan, they even had Taiyaki!
