Angkaew Reservoir

Drive through University campus to arrive at reservoir. Path all the way around for walkers/joggers. Lots of shade as below mountains. Sun sets behind mountain an hour before sunset time. No pets allowed yet pets can be walked in shaded woodland below near parking areas.
Lots of parking and an easy sloping walkway up to the waters edge. Popular spot for locals and Uni students.

This place is truly breathtaking. Unbelievable nature, really a gem in Chiang Mai everyone should visit. It is situated next to Universities so there are lots of young people. Very clean. Super calm and quiet place with exceptional nature.

This place is like a park inside Chiang Mai University. It’s perfect for an evening stroll or jogging, and bringing your dog along is ideal. Nice place to visit, exercise, and all that.. there are some parking space around… may be a little further away but walkable. You stroll around the reservoir you might here Chiang mai zoo animals roar (cry whatever). Quite unique place to exercise or just simply visit and enjoy the scenery.

The most beautiful Park and Lake with mountain inside Chiangmai University. The best time to visit is sunrise and sunset.

A nice and quiet place for relax, pinic facing the small reservoir. Evening and morning with quite number of people, come late, it is very quiet and peaceful

We went here by a private car. There’s a free parking super nearby. It’s within Chiangmai university. Good for a stroll.

Love this place. It was raining but the view was breathtaking. You can walk around the lake and there are some nice spots to sit around and chill too. The place located in Chiangmai University, and very easy to get there.

Inside the CMU, good for jogging & walking. But no pets allow, no picnic as well.

Lovely walk around the lake and such beautiful scenary. We come early at 6.45-7am to catch the sunrise. Breath in, breath out, living the best retreat days!

It's a quiet and relaxing place to visit - a short scooter ride from the Old City. Not a lot of places to park a scooter.
The walk around the Reservoir is easy.
A café is nearby if you need refreshments.

'Angkaew Reservoir' (อ่างแก้ว) is located in Chiang Mai University (CMU), half-way from Chinag Mai old town to Doi Suthep. We spent our morning walking around the reservoir that acted as the public park, meet-up spot, the place for recreations and more

The open view of the reservoir that has a wide-range of mountain as the backdrop and if the sky is clear you can even see 'Wat Phra That Doi Suthep' from below.

Well known among locals and travelers, the place always get crowded in the evening, as it had been listed in most if not all in the local travel itinerary

For me personally 'Angkaew' is a place to seek peace of mind. Spent a relax morning walk with a peaceful environment, surrounded by green scenery of forest and mountain will definite ease your mind

Nice lake to visit inside Chiang Mai University. It's packed of people in the evenings running, walking around or just spending some time with friends or family.

In the heat of the afternoon I rode my scooter here. Parked and walked around the lake, serenity and many pleasant views for stimulation of mind and body. I saw some wonderful fauna during my escapdes through shadows and sunlight - make time to go here.
