It was a fun experience! We rented a golf cart that ended up coming with a lovely framed photo for only an extra 150 Baht. Its a beautiful zoo, with a lot to see. We were a bit disappointed that the aquarium was closed while we were there, but upgrades! Love that you're able to feed and interact with some of the animals as well!

We enjoyed our time at this zoo. The animals are kept and fed well. They seem to be really quiet and relaxed. The territory of this zoo is huge. You can use golf carts or buses to make your journey easier. I recommend coming to this zoo earlier so that you can see all the animals and have a good time here. My experience was amazing. It's a real fun for both adults and children. Must have for visiting when coming to Chiang Mai.

Over all amazing zoo, lots of exhibits to see. All your typical zoo among. Big cats, giraffes, zebras, bears, exotic birds and much more. We rented a golf cart, 350 for first hour then 300 after.
In the end we had it for 3 hours, we planned for 2 hours but there is not enough time to see the zoo in only 2 hours. I would plan for 3-4 hours it’s huge. The zoo is in good condition it did have a few empty enclosures but not that many. It’s still worth coming. You can also feed Asian elephants, feed the deer and cows. All very interesting.
The only thing I was let down by was the reptiles section. Not many snakes and the turtles water is so filthy and very smelly. They could do a much better job of keeping on top of this. Not good for the animals Heath to have them In such poor conditions.
We didn’t see the panda either as it was extra charge to go into the panda enclosure and I believe they no longer have one.
Overall I would recommend the price is very cheap. If you want to rent golf cart bring your driving license as a deposit. If not they have a shuttle bus service (it’s not free)

It was fascinating!!! Such a great place for the whole family to enjoy. There’s a lot to see and to do and it might take all day. No need to work, there are stains where you can have a break, snack or even lunch. It’s beautiful and has a lot of spots for photos and videos. Absolutely must visit in Chiang Mai

An amazing zoo! The walking trails are well shaded and the whole park feels like a rainforest. We saw lots of animals. All the exhibits were clean and the animals had lots of room, foliage and enrichment toys. We are used to walking so we had zero problems getting around the park. There are golf carts and buses for those that need it.

Review for snow buddy winter land!
Small place but very nice, my son loves it! Price is 20mins for 200B. If possible 30mins could be better.

Really big zoo in terms of size, you either pay for trolley/golf cart or you have to really love trekking to be able to finish the whole route. There werent that many animals around when we visited though with many areas closed for renovation. We find it funny that there was no panda despite the animal seemingly being the zoo’s mascot. In general, we still enjoyed our visit.

Family & Freind & First Date Friendly Spot!

My faves are the red panda & capybara.

There is also a sacred shrine (favourited by Locals) at the zoon.

This zoo in Chiang Mai is incredibly spacious and well worth a visit if you have some free time.

While the pandas may no longer be there, there are numerous other captivating animals to see. What’s more, they even have a waterpark inside, adding to the fun and excitement!

It was a great experience, even though the Aquarium was close for renovation. Rent a golf cart if you can’t walk uphills. Overall great experience, will repeat to see the Aquarium.

We love this zoo.

It’s close to animal like you can feed elephants, hippo, birds, dees, giraffes…
You pay( donate) 20b for each baskets and you can feed them.

You can get on tram ( bus) or you can rent golf cart 350B/ hour ( 300b after first hour)
It’s easy and no need to wait bus to come

We usually take 1.5 hours so pay 650B
Just need Thai driver license or international driver’s license.
You will pay after you return your cart and don’t forget to get back your license!

Aquarium is closed
And panda 🐼 area I think u need to pay ( not sure)

Parking yes 50B
Entrance fee : it’s thai and foreigner price butlittle bit.
over 60 years old is free are same I think.

While I'm not a huge fan of zoos on the whole - If you find yourself in Chiang Mai, make an effort and support the Chain Mai Zoo.
The Giant Panda and the little Red Panda will surely make your day. It's sad that they are alone in the enclosures but we only have us humans to thank for that. The animals on the whole, seem to be well looked after, which is always a plus for me.

Great experience at the Zoo. Perfect place to get a big hike into your day and see some fantastic animals up close. Zoo is undergoing renovations. Animals seem well taken care of and have good environments. Aquarium is worth the extra time and money. Support the animals with your visit!

Loved Chiang Mai zoo! It was pretty early morning in February that I went, maybe that's why most of animals were up and active. I could watch the staff feeding animals and they were soooo cute. Even though some parts of the zoo was under construction (due to the renovation or something), the zoo is so huge I still was able to enjoy it to the fullest. I recommend to check Great Hornbill (the beautiful big bird), one of them was so perky and friendly, he was trying to feed me a banana ;((( so cute ;(( I wish they had souvenir shops opened though! I definitely would have bought some animal keychains or something if they had any. There were only families or students, but if you are animal lover I recommend you visit here. The animals seem to have pretty good environment for them.

One of the best things to do in Chiang Mai just wow!! Go early morning or late afternoon as it can get hot. Theres a lot of snacks and drink places around and a few places selling food as well as an indoor restaurant.

Theres only one panda left and the panda show was worth it.

We went for two hours using the hop on hop off tram and managed to see half the zoo in two hours. Theres gold carts available for 350 an hour which you drive yourself which is definitely worth it. If you opt to walk it will take a long time and some parts have many hills.

Theres so many animals to see as well as shows.

I will definitely come back, what a great experience and it's extremely kid friendly.

We wasn't sure coming to the zoo reading the reviews. Entry is 150baht, the panda is on its own so there isn't much to see I wouldn't advise. The aquarium was the best part of the zoo, so much to look at. The beer enclosure is pretty much shut. They have minimal animals, but the experience was still very good, the golf carts was very fun but abit expensive.

We went here 2 times during our stay in ChiangMai. The first time we walked, the second time we rented a golf cart. I highly recommend the zoo, it is a pleasant walk in the forest and the animals are good taken care of.
For the panda and aquarium, the charge is separately.

Very interesting and engaging experience especially the Asian Elephant. Only costed me 150 baht to get in. You can also rent a tram for the whole day for 60 baht.

Impressed with this Zoo. Best time to visit is morning, less people, nice temperature and animals pretty active.
Price currently is THB 150 (THB 100 if living in Thailand), which is excellent value!
Some places are under construction/renovation, but still plenty to see and now there are also a good selection for a meal. At least one dine in restaurant and lots of food trucks and other little shops.
The Zoo is huge, I recommend renting a golf cart to get around. Super fun to drive and even with cart we spent 3 hours.
