Spectacular view. We went around 7 PM and it was deserted, the cafe closed and the buildings locked. But the view was still amazing at sunset and evening, and you can still walk around to see the outside of the wat, which is illuminated in the evening. Phrathat is not lit in the evening, and is rather eerie!

Our small car had a few issues and I think it would be very difficult to reach on a scooter. Trucks probably do better on the steep, winding roads!

I came conveniently by car, parked it in front, and walked to inside. Very beautiful, one of a must visit place for Buddhist on Doi Measalong. 3fl. for praying and enjoying the scenic view around.

Great Thai + Buddhism memorial architecture. At the 3rd flr. you will find the finest series paintings about all public figures concerning this project. Thai style stain glass is stunning . Enjoy panorama view and cool air up there.

I visited this beautiful place by my city car (1200 cc Nissan Almera). I need to drove backward at the last steep slope (the one-way circle). This is not a road under high way department's standard, It's too much steep for most cars and most By-car tourists. It's too much dangerous if you are not familiar with driving on the mountain. This is a serious warning!

Beautiful views.
Inside the main building, go up the stairs to see a very special Buddha on level 3.
Some locals sell trinkets in the parking lot, but they are not aggressive.
There is also a cafe/restaurant here, but I did not visit that.

Serene scenery. Not a lot of visitors during morning.
The road to the mountain top is not too difficult.

Beautiful place. Park downstairs and walk the stairs up. You can walk through two buildings here. Bunch of kids are selling some goods instead of school.

Simply a quiet little place in Mae Salong, and the best viewpoint. Couples of parking space outside, it’s good to spend 15 - 30mins here to take some picture and look at the beautiful scenery.

Phra Boromathat Chedi” is an impressively Thai-style stupa on a hill near Mae Salong village. It was built in honour of the late Princess Mother, Srinagarindra, who was a great patron and benefactor of the area. Next to the chedi is the Princess Mother Hall, a modern, Thai-style pavilion which looks like a temple in appearance, but does not contain any religious objects. From the platforms around the chedi, there are good views across town and west towards Myanmar from the top. We recommend that, after visiting the Phra Boromathat Chedi, you walk downhill by foot on the 719-step staircase to Wat Santikiri to reach the centre of Mae Salong.

The views along the road are stunning, the road itself is fairly dangerous during the rainy season.
