3.5 kms from camping area to the peaks. You will love night trekking from 4 am to 5.30am. To wait for the fabulous sunrises and ocean of clouds

If you love camping, hiking, forrest and fresh air, then this place is a must in Chiangmai. Put some effort 2+- hour to reach the summit.

Amazing beautiful park with surprising different nature on every hight level. The view from the top is stunning. The road to the top is good when you enter from the north (Thaton) but the road to the top starting from Fang is at some places very bad and not suitable for cars of motorbikes.

Highest located camp ground in Thailand. You need to have a strong engine vehicle (4W or 1.8 cc) to be able to get up there otherwise they wont let you up there (officers are checking at the entrance to the park). If you dont have that car you can go to the office at the hot spring where you can book a tent with all others needed (pillow, sleeping bag and mat) and they will secure a return transport from there up to the camp. You will need to wait a bit as they need at least 4 or 5 ppl (to share the fee) otherwise you would need to pay the full fee of transport.
Camp is clean with good facilities (toilets and showers with cold water only). You can also buy food there (hot pot with lots of meat and vegetable, small package for 350thb, big one for 500 thb, breakfast as mam noodles, rice soup) and water or coke.
It takes 1,5hr to 2,5hr to reach the summit from there. You can hire a guide there or just go by yourself. Most of ppl leave around 4am to get up there.

Great place to see stars and sunrise. This National Park can be packed with people during cold season. It takes 2-3hours to walk from tent camp to its summit. Better to have local guides so they can escort you and give information of the plants you see during the hike.

Clean and well maintained park. I only visited the hot springs and cold river part of it so far but it is a lovely place.

Friendly park rangers and very vibrant campsite. You can take your own car (4x4) I think or pay 200 or 300 baht for the truck service at the national park (Head office at the hot springs). Very chill place with amazing views. Hike is also easy to moderate level.

Hiking to the top of Doi Pha Hom Pok was a great experience. A little difficult walking up (I would say intermediate) but easy to come back down. Spectacular views at the top. The grounds and hiking trail are well maintained. If you enjoy hiking I would recommend putting this one your itinerary. Two soi dogs followed us the entire hike 👍

There is a type of plant species that can give you trouble if you touch it but as long as you stay on the path, this is easily avoided.

“The heavens are telling the glory of God;
and the firmament proclaims his handiwork.
Day to day pours forth speech,
and night to night declares knowledge.
There is no speech, nor are there words;
their voice is not heard;
yet their voice goes out through all the earth,
and their words to the end of the world.”Hallelujah 🙌

We went past quite quickly. However the area was very pretty. Some road works ongoing. Take care on bikes it gets slippery. Locals working in the fields and a real taste of country Thai.

The summit is about 1,5h hike from the Kiew Long Campground (with our kids, the youngest 11y.). Guides will try convince you that you need a guide to get there. But the trail is so clear you can't get lost. Nice forest trail.

I have a wonderful time here. !!
This is 2nd highest mountain in Thailand.
So adventure level in low. !

Suit for family and friends who do not need place that too adventure.
Not so easy like Doi Inthanon that just drive notmal car to top of the mountain.
But this mountain you can drive only 4-wheels drive car for front way (very shorter). If you no have 4-wheels car. You can hire at National Park. (350.- thb per person).
And the other way, you can drive normal car but very longer way.

So tent area, have everything for basic living for rent. Just like tents, sleeping pad, blankets, pillow, and sleeping bag at National Park Office.
And they also have food shop and fire stove for rent too.

And if you need to trek to mountain.
These is not to hard (around 8 km / 3 hr).

The second highest peak but the higest camp ground in Thailand. You could reach by 4x4 vehicle. I appreciate hired from Fang District at Bt. 1,800 round trip. Suitable for all kind of tourists including senior or children. No shop up here so loaded your supply from Fang Town. Clean toilets with tap water. Good for stay overnight to see sunrise. Anyway, I have seen only sunset because I'm too lazy to craw up atop early in the windchill morning.
