Ran-Tong Best elephant sanctuary

This was an incredible experience. It's well worth the hour ride from Chiang Mai to Ran-Tong Elephant santuary. When else will you have an opportunity to meet, feed and take pictures with such a gentle big animal? The caretakers are extremely nice and patient with the animals as well as visitors. I suggest bringing flip flops and change of underwear, if you intend to participate in the mud bath and river washing.

It was really really fun! Elephants looks like are treated good, our guide Limmy was on point. I have nothing bad to say about this place. We did many activities like take a bath with the elephants, make them eat bananas and sugar cane, teached us how to cut sugar cane, we had a lunch, took alot of pictures... But all of that with Limmy! He's awesome!

Everything went well, and the elephants seemed happy. Just note that they don't have hot water to shower in after playing with the elephants.

It was one of the best experiences I’ve ever had! So much fun and care 🙏 would highly recommend to others!

To spend time with elephants in Thailand has never been in my bucket list. Simply joined in with the rest of our travel buddies and ended up with an experience of a lifetime! The half-day at Ran-Tong was quality time with these gigantic brothers/sisters...preparing their food/feeding/mud-massage and bath time! I did feel anxious at first but found my ease with them which made me enjoy every moment and even felt emotional with one, Kunrud, as he was so gentle!
Well done to all the Mahouts, paid- and volunteer-staff, to the owner, the one who had a vision for this safe place for the elephants! And thank you to the elephants who allowed us in their safe space!

Ran-Tong Best elephant sanctuary was an incredible experience, we had the guide named “K” and was very knowledgeable and you could see that he truly loved these majestic animals. We got to prepare the food and fed the elephants. Afterwards we gave them a mud rub and after we went into the river where we cooled off the animals. It was easy to see that these elephants were well taken care of and no one rides these elephants except showing the love and care that they rightfully deserve. If you are thinking of interacting with these majestic beast, search no more Ran-Tong is the place you want to go. Again I would like to thank all the staff at this elephant sanctuary and also “K” for being an all around great guy and very professional at his job...Cheers to you Sir.

Amazing place and elephants. They really have a passion for looking after the animals and seeing them walk around, bath, eat and sleep is wonderful. We adopted an elephant and we know the funds will go towards helping continue the care they receive.
Highly recommended to visit, donate to and adopt an elephant!

This was probably the best experience I had in Thailand. A must go to sanctuary. We were lucky and got a private tour from our guide. We were the first ones there in the morning and had all the elephants attention. No fences, no chains no nothing. Touching, hugging and stealing of bananas was all included hehe. An amazing experience! Not a very touristic or knowned place, which allow you to spend quality time with the elephants. No riding, just feed and give them bath.

Very very very nice place. We were there for full day (the best option) and we enjoyed very much. Our guide was Jan Swedish guy. I can say that he is professional and he cares a lot for elephants. Time spent in Ran Tong was one of the best times in my life.

Amazing experience. Staff were great, and the elephants seemed to be well taken care of. Taking care of the young for the day was a once in a lifetime experience.
