Woodlawn Villas Resort

Very nice, quiet, peaceful hotel, set back from the road in a green canyon filled with palm trees. Rooms are large, clean and comfortable, and the staff are helpful. If you stay here you’ll want to rent a scooter or motorbike as it’s some distance from town, although there are a few good restaurants within walking distance.

This morning I was running late to my catamaran, and I forgot to get the key deposit back of 1000 baht. So I had a half hour to kill before my boat left and I knew I was friends with the resort on Facebook , so I sent them a message explaining how I forgot to get my deposit back and they sent of their hotel employees down to the pier to give me that ฿1000 back. This hotel has great service and I recommended to everybody. Thank you so much I really enjoyed my stay and I look forward to staying with y’all again in the future.

Good hotel. Friendly staff. Deposit of 1000 thb for the room. They also offer scooter rental with no money or no passport deposit which is really nice. Got a 125cc for 200 thb per day. Paid the rental at the end of the stay. No problem 👌

Great experience! Very accommodating owners, manager, and staff which made for a very pleasant stay. You can rent scooters from the villas which was also very handy as it was cheap and reliable! Location is far enough away from the main strip so that it doesn’t feel touristy while also only being a 2-5 min scooter from all the main attractions on the island! Pick up and drop off at pier was also provided by Woodlawn villas. Definitely a place to stay :)

Amazing villas tucked into the jungle. So close to everything but so distant from the morning scooters buzzing around. Beautiful pool and staff. Kudos to Lucas (partial owner) for checking in on our stay and being so accommodating!

We had an amazing stay at woodlawn villas! There staff is friendly and super helpful!! The rental of the scooter through them was quite easy and worked beautifully! :) A late check-out was possible as well, which left us to relax at the pool the last day to close this amazing experience!

We had the absolute best time at Woodlawn Villas. Looks exactly like the pictures, a little oasis perfect for a relaxing vacation. The staff is adorable and everyone was so helpful with everything we needed. The room was very pretty and clean, big thumbs up for the mattress that was so comfortable. We will definitely come back here. Thank you again Woodlawn!

Very Good Hotel. The service here is incredible. It’s so easy to book tours or transport in the reception where you will get instant help from the manager in the reception. They also offer you Daily shuttlebus drives, so you can go to the city and get picked up again. The owner is also very nice and helpfull. All over very nice expirience

Amazing stay here in Koh Tao at the Woodlawn Villa's. Very kind and polite staff who will pick you up from the pier and bring you to your stay.

They offered me a cheap scooter rental also so that saved me time!

The owner was so kind that he even gave me a lift to a gas station after my scooter ran out of fuel!

I can recommend this stay so much since the location is good, the rooms are new and get cleaning every day + give you lots of recommendations on activities/restaurants!

A great break from reality.

Happy Place, 2023 we returned for the 5th time!
The garden is very nice - so many different trees (palm trees, frangipani,...). Birds, butterflies and dragonflies love it too.
The receptionist's welcome was very friendly (also the receptionist cat).
All our wishes have been met - even a room change.
There have been made so many improvements over the years and are still ongoing.
Woodlawn also offers pick up from Mae Haad pier. Additionally you can book the shuttle to Chalok, Mae Haad and Sairee.
Even if Woodlawn is fully booked, it is never crowded. You always find space at the pool.
Chalok Bay and Mae Haad are in walking distance.
If you want a relaxing time away from busy areas, Woodlawn is the perfect spot.

Amazing hotel, 5 stars well deserved. The rooms were big, neat and new, with an amazing terrace and included all the things you may need (water, fridge, hair dryer, shampoo, etc).
I don’t think is possible to find something that good on the island for such an competitive price.

Wonderful stay here. Very accessible to many places on the island. Staff were welcoming especially the owners, room was always clean couldn’t fault it one bit.

A very relaxing and quiet resort tucked away in a beautiful lush corner of koh tao.
While the beach is not too far to walk, the pool is great for chilling out, and the management is really helpful and attentive.

Our stay at Woodlawn Villas ranked near the top of our two months in Thailand. We stayed here for 8 nights, and were tremendously comfortable. The hosts/owners were extremely friendly and accommodating - a rarity on Koh Tao. The couple truly cares about their resort and bringing the best hospitality and comfort to their guests, and it shows in the subtle improvements throughout the complex. Read any somewhat-negative review on this place, chances are the problem has already been fixed. The room is quiet, the bed is comfortable, you have four pillows to choose from, the AC can get the room freezing, the ceiling fan helps spread the air from the AC, the shower is wonderful, and overall the room was just great. The one somewhat-negative I can think of is the fact we were only provided a top sheet on the bed for the first night; however this was immediately remedied with a warm blanket in the morning after a quick call to the host. We were provided a small cell phone to use throughout our stay, along with an entire welcoming book listing all the helpful information you could ever need. The location of the resort is quiet and the food within walking distance is great. Overall, we had one of our best stays here, and we would highly recommend Woodlawn Villas.

Great resort with lovely surroundings. Only a couple of negatives, the road to the resort is sandy and not very well lit at night. Also no kitchen, so you have to eat out or order in. They do provide you with a local SIM card and phone so you can call nearby places. The grounds and villas and even the single rooms are good, kept clean and are good for the price.

Ask them to send you a taxi when you arrive by ferry but remember you will have to pay for the taxi but is better than being ripped off by the ones already on the pier.

Watch out for the steep gradients specially at night and if you are riding a motor scooter or bike. The staff are helpful and they have a very informative brochure / info sheet in the room so please read that before hand.

A great hotel, with really inclined to help personnel. We got the special deal with 50% off and it was so worth it! We loved every single minutes of our stay. The chambers are neat, you can order food from the restaurant. They lend you for free a complimentary cell. The only downside is that it is a bit far away from everything and the road are not really awesome. But you can walk, or take a taxi!

I highly recommend, especially during the low season with the special offer for the rooms! Really worth it for the price!

We went on a 4 week holiday around Thailand and Woodlawn Villas was by far the best place we stayed at. The tranquility of the whole Woodlawn grounds was perfect, it feels like you are in the middle of the jungle, away from all the noise and chaos of the busier parts of the island. The beautiful pool was definitely one of the highlights. A lot of the time we had it just for ourselves.
As soon as we arrived we were welcomed by the owners Luke and Michelle who were extremely friendly and always there to help and advise us with anything we asked them. The welcome pack had useful information of what to do on the island and where to go. We followed their advice on quite a few things and it was all spot on. They even supply a phone with all the local useful numbers which was really handy and a super nice touch. The location is great too with good restaurants and a handy supermarket nearby. The rooms were thoroughly cleaned every day and all the staff were very friendly. The apartments have all you need in them including a kitchen which was handy when we wanted to cook some of our own food. There is also a super fast wifi connection that works both in the rooms and in the pool which was the icing on the cake.
All in all as you can see, a great place which we have already recommended to other travelers we met along the way. We will definitely come back.

We stayed here for around 2 weeks and are very glad with the choice. The villa is well equipped with a gas hob, fridge, toaster and kettle. It's set back from the road in a tranquil area. The owners are very friendly, attentive and contactable.
