Pentatonic rock bar

Great rock & metal bar in the center of Chiang Mai old city. Very kind owners and good prices. There you can listen both metal and rock music (they accept petitions). At 10 p.m. performs a local band with some great covers. I'm not sure if the band performs every night (we went on Thursday). Happy hour every day before 9:30 p.m.

And you can play pool for free with any drink!

Great band, fair drink prices. Seems like the Reggae Bar fills up earlier, so maybe go there first then come here at the end of the night. We went a couple times and the first night was poppin', the second time there were only a few people dancing. Such a shame everything closes at midnight, just about the time people really start showing up.

Had no idea there was a metal scene in Chiang Mai! It's a great place for live music. To be honest, the music isn't typically my cup of tea but the performers really pump you up.

We had a great evening in this small bar, if you love rock , but mostly Metal music come here, very cool cover bands..very good players, on our evening we saw 2 bands..and they were amazingly good..u know playing Dimebag Darrell solos isn't that easy..Ozzy , black Sabbath, system of a down, deep purple , gun's..shall I carry on? Just go, standard prices for booze

Bands playing here are great -- they can have you yelling and shouting as they simg your favorite rock songs. Definitely a 5 star go-to that you must experience when in Chiang Mai.

We had an stellar trio the night we went that played all the best classic rock tunes from the 60's and 70's. Great atmosphere and rocking Mai Thais!

What a difference a night of metal and alternative music can make. I have spent 2 years in Thailand and really never thought I would find a place where I could enjoy both the company AND THE MUSIC. Thai people and your usual expats/backpackers don't seem fond of the heavier, more boundary pushing side of music - but Pentatonic Rock Bar proved a refreshing and welcome breath of fresh air.

If you find yourself sick of Justin Bieber, weak Spotify playlists, accoustic covers of the same old songs, or the same 12 Thai folk classics at every function you attend, then do yourself a favour and swing by Pentatonic Rock Bar. It will envigourate you.

In Chiang Mai? Like heavy metal of any flavor? This tiny, tiny pub is where you absolutely must go. Hosts local bands, cover bands, and even Chiang Mai Deathfest. Supporting the local metal scene, kudos!

Good live music and fun atmosphere. If you are tired of all the dance music this is a nice place to go for something different.

A great live music rock bar surrounded by dance bars. As with all in the small cluster of bars next to it, opens late and closes at midnight.

This place knows how to party and they have bands that get you pumped! Looks fun just about any day of the week.

best place in Chiang Mai. If you like death metal and didnt go there, you dont like death metal.
