Bangkok Bank

Opened a bank account in 20 mins with passport, res cert and receipt of my accommodation. Very efficient and friendly service, good English and clear information.

Bualung Bank, and Western Union

일반 입출금 창구에는 의자도 없다 서서 업무 봐야하네. 점심시간이라 그런지 창구는 많은데 업무 보는 창구는 하나뿐이다. 예상했던데로 업무 처리 속도는 매우 느리다. 요즘 찾아보기 힘든 CRT TV와 실내 안테나도 있다.

Gone are the days when I used to breeze in here, have a chat with the manager and enjoy a cup of tea. Now it's come in, wait ages for counter assistance with too few staff on duty, or wait to see a 'specialist' and get business done as fast as possible.

But to be fair, this has become the norm for all banks I'm sure, so I won't hold it just against Bangkok Bank. Banks now have their customers 'over a barrel.'

They do get most jobs done, and appear to be a major bank in the country, hopefully safe and secure. For some reason I've had a 'VIP card' for some time, but have never found it any use; I think it may have some power in Bangkok.

Staggeringly inefficient on my last request. Which was to get a standard letter regarding monthly deposits to satisfy for immigration purposes. Letter was promised in 5 days. Which was (at time of writing) 15 days ago! Even allowing for Songkran that’s a horrible waiting time. My marriage visa expires in 3 days, they couldn’t care less. In fact, their lack of interest seems like they want me to be deported!
I’ll definitely be sorting out another bank before my next renewal.

The worst customer service, they don't care anything.
Had few times problem with them, now I close account. Enough is enough.

Bangkok Bank is a good bank but for foreigners another agency is probably better.

If you are foreigner DO NOT come to this branch, the staff was very annoyed and didn't want to help.
