Sugar Cane Restaurant

Just returned from our stay at Sunwing Bangtao Beach and this restaurant was conveniently located across the road. Beautiful fit out, amazing food and the service was great. A must try if you’re in the area.

Absolutely great restaurant with so many amazing dishes for western and local Thai cuisines, huge menu. The staff were amazing, very friendly and made some good recommendations and offered to adjust meals accordingly. The food was great, lamb chops cooked perfectly, prawn curry was delicious, get the white to go with it. Kids loved their pizza too. The Thai dessert are worth trying, it surprised me how good the banana dough balls with ice cream was, absolutely delicious and the sticky mango rice was okay. One of many great restaurants around here, definitely recommend it.

Definitely recommend this place for Dinner. 5star for Food, Service and Atmosphere. Not the most cheap, but worth to pay the extra for what you get.

I recently had the pleasure of dining at a restaurant in Phuket, and I must say, the experience was exceptional. Best food in Phuket! I am from New Zealand and miss Thai food so much, I really love Moo Hong! The service and atmosphere also great! I've been here several times during 2 weeks of vacation in phuket. I highly recommend trying this place.

Like others we found the Thai food here to be ideal for non Thai palette with the food generally not overly spicy compared with other restaurants without any request for non spicy. Their signature Moo Hong (Phuket pork belly) was soft, meaty, with a depth of flavour. The kids liked both their kids pasta and the deep fried bananas. Like others, the giant Koi fish were great for entertainment for the young kids.

For many restaurants in Phuket, parking is difficult as typically there is only road side options available for a car. This, having a parking lot was an amazing discovery and greatly eases the mind on arrival.

From a cost perspective, prices are not significantly different from other restaurants, but the food, environment and service is better. They are also one of the few Thai restaurants that accept credit card payment!!! Great when you are low on cash.

The restaurant looks amazing, open air, beautiful ceiling. We only marked down the atmosphere as the bathroom was filled with mosquitoes which required significant amount of bug spray before entry.

We eat here every year when we come to Phuket and stay in the Bangtao beach area.
The service is good, staff friendly and the food is always exceptional. It is a very pretty place in the night and the kids enjoy feeding the koi,

It was such a perfect experience dining here. Food was fresh, delicate, tasty and presented in an artistic way. The dining pavilion looks grand but warm with local flowers and trees. Our service person speaks very good English and was helpful introducing local plants and culture to us.

Sugarcane is a gem of a place. The wait staff are so lovely and warm. The ambience is also spot on, really nice interior. We came back twice for this, and the delicious food, and would come again. Highly recommend

We held our wedding reception at Sugarcane and we recommend the venue, the food and the team highly. They’re great!

Firstly, we also ate at Sugarcane several times as ‘normal’ patrons - the food is always tasty and beautifully presented, the team is attentive and the venue is beautiful - it’s open aired, authentic wooden interior and immediately relaxing.

For the wedding reception, we were organising from Singapore - but we immediately felt comfortable with K. Marisa’s support. She is creative, empathetic, her English is perfect and - along with K. Oy and the team - she really helped us to organise an evening that exceeded our expectations.

We will of course visit again one day :)

Situated on the road above the beach, its actually quite calm and soothing with lush greenery around the restaurant. Food is really well made and it has a nicer depth of flavours you won't find in the beach restaurants. We ended up eating here almost every night :-)

Wondered in off the road. We were sat immediately without a wait. We had the pad thai goong sod, mango salad, and pepper chicken and pork. They were all good. Only complaint was that the mango salad wasn't spicy. But, to be clear, we ate every bite. Everything was delicious.

Went to Sugar Cane together with my partner in July 2022, and it was one of the best dining experiences we had in Phuket.

We came on the recommendation of friends, and I have wholeheartedly recommended this to other friends since. It's a bit out of the way from the famous Patong Beach, but it's closer to Bang Tao Beach, and the food is definitely worth it. We ordered the kratong thong, stir fried squid with garlic and pepper, stir fried tiger prawns in tamarind sauce, pineapple fried rice, and finally mango sticky rice for dessert. The taste of every dish was clearly a cut above the rest; all melt-in-your-mouth wonders. And just when we thought we've tasted it all, the mango sticky rice got served up and absolutely blew everything out of the water - it was the best mango sticky rice I've had in my life, period.

What added to our dining experience was our server Jane, who was really the warmest person, the type you know who's just overflowing with cheer and kindness. They were so helpful in recommending what the best items on the menu are, and when we didn't go with certain recommendations, they immediately counter proposed with alternatives, advising us that if we don't take to this dish, they would recommend this other dish. The food was a gift, and Jane was the beautiful ribbon that tied it all together.
