A little far out of Chiang Mai but worth the trip.

Wat Doi Sapphanyu (Wat Nam Bo Tib) in Don Pao, Mae Wang District is a lesser known temple in the suburbs of Chiang Mai. It is absolutly worth the drive. And when there also make the extra mile areound the hill to see the three buddha statues on the hill from the maze garden.

Part of a series of very beautiful Buddhist structures in the area.

Though the gate to the interior of the temple was closed the doors had been left open so that you could see inside.

Especially nice if you visit late near to sunset.
