Rice Barn and Rooms

What a beautiful place !
we come here for the second time. the accommodations are complete and all unique. in the garden it is a cozy petting zoo, with ducks, goats, sheep.
With Grab you are in 25 minutes in the centre of Chiang Mai.

We can't say enough about this beautifully unique accommodations. Nok and Al truly are superhosts. They were there to welcome us when we arrived and made sure that all of our questions were answered. They provided information about the surrounding area and were quick to take care of any additional requests we had. The rooms are very clean and comfortable. Fresh water was provided everyday and Nok even brought around umbrellas for us to use when it rained! The gardens that surround the homes are lush and the pool is clean and at least 6 feet deep, perfect for family fun. We will definitely stay here again when we come back to Thailand!

This resort is a lovely place if you like nature and animals. It is about 30 min to Doi Suthep though, so one has to have a means of transport or use a Grab.
The rooms are well kept and guests have access to a communal kitchen (at least a fridge and a sink)- actually depending on the room type, you can make your own cooking there (stove, toaster, sink). This is a real plus when you don’t feel like driving to the restaurant.
The grounds are very pretty and the whole place is extremely quiet. Where in Thailand do you not hear the roar of a distant motorbike or car? Well, there !

The owners are very friendly, just like their two dogs and cats, not to mention the chickens and ducks (there were even ducklings!), the goat and the sheep☺.
Everything worked fine in the rooms and it is worth mentioning that the bed was exceptionally comfortable. Also, the owners don’t use single use plastic bottles - they have their bottles refilled and resealed by the water company, which is a nice gesture for the environment!

Al & Nok were brilliant hosts, polite and helpful. The accommodation is set away from the town centre which means you get to see more of Chiang Mai, albeit a quick Grab App taxi arrives within 5 min and a short 15-20min trip for less than £5 and you are in town. The pool was clean and gardens were beautiful, full of quirky artwork so there is always something new to see. Dogs were friendly and facilities are readily available for various needs such as an outdoor kitchen, mopeds etc... An honesty coffee shop/bar is on site, small shops are walking distance, as is the Grand Canyon Water Park. Cost of stay was significantly cheaper than other venues, highly recommended. Wi-Fi was readily available and ample parking should you choose to drive/ride. If you want a unique experience authentic to Thailand, then stay in the Rice Barn, anyone can book a hotel, try something new.

I came to Rice barn and rooms recovering after a rough patch and it was the perfect place to recuperate. The place is beautiful, serene, and quiet. Birds singing, bees buzzing. It has everything you need too. The owners are super friendly. Thank you Al and Nok for having me!

My favourite place in the world to stay, apart from home.
I spend a few nights every month or two at Rice Barn & Rooms. I find everything about Khun Nok and Al's hospitality, home, grounds and rooms perfect. A selection of rooms from modern style to the beautifully converted regionally traditional rice-barns set around manicured gardens with serene ponds and fountains.
All of the rooms are individually decorated with lovely taste, and I suspect a lot of heart and elbow grease.
Great wifi and Apple TV etc from a very tech savvy Al.
Well-equipped communal outside cooking area and fridge.
Honour system on the bar.
Great little pool that is refreshingly cold... took my breath away.
Not somewhere to party until the roosters start crowing. If you are after nightlife Chiang Mai itself is about 20 minutes away. I have my own vehicle but if I'm having a drink in town I use a Grab car. Easy. Taxis will do it also. For running around daily a scooter is ideal if you are experienced.
My visits are primarily business but the moment I walk in to the property I feel like I'm on holiday. I simply can't recommend this place highly enough.

Great place to stay if you want to be away from Chiang Mai - it’s a good 30mins away by taxi to Chiang Mai. About 20 mins away from the airport. Lovely, peaceful place.

It's a great place for a reasonable price to stay if you're in love with nature. Rice Barn and Rooms is located in the chilled and relaxing atmosphere of Nam Phrae and has a nice garden with some lovely animals. It's easy to relax outside. The rooms inside are clean and the bed is comfortable. Wifi works well. The owners are a very friendly couple and do their best to make your stay pleasent. I felt very safe and welcome here!

Great hospitality. Great people. Great room. Great surroundings. You can rent motorbikes from the owners, swim in the pool, eat in the thai food night local market (15mn ride) and rest in the many chill spots you can find around Rice Barn & Rooms !

This place is amazing. If you are looking for quiet relaxing place to to recharge this is it. The room was very nice and service was awesome. The owners are friendly and kind. The little touches like small farm and fish pond just add to the relaxing feeling. Also the price was great. Most of what Chiang Mai has to offer is close by without the craziness of staying in the main city. Grab (Thailand's uber) is available and reliable for transportation and food delivery. WiFi was fast and always available. Honestly this was one of the best vacations ever and this place was a big reason for it.

We have spent three lovely nights there with very friendly and inviting host (Khun Nok & Alistair). My sons had also great time chasing ducks, sheep and goats at the backyard garden along with two friendly dogs 🐕 Jessy and Simba ending up my sons calling their names days and weeks after our stay. The rice barn is super comfortable with all what u need and good location too. Highly recommend it and would come back if any chance to visit Chiang Mai.

This is a little paradise located away from the city in a peaceful and quiet neighborhood. After visiting Delhi and Bangkok, this was exactly what we needed. We are staying in a converted rice barn that is amazing! Would recommend this to those looking to get away from the hustle and bustle. Lovely Chiang Mai is an easy drive away. Rent a car an explore!

Nice and quiet place with very nice hosts and friendly animals. My fiancé is usually a bit afraid of dogs but the ones here were soo peaceful and relaxed that it was fine. Thank you for a great stay!

Alistair and Nok are fabulous hosts. Rooms are spacious and clean. Super Wi-fi if you want to work - as I did all with business over the world. I had to have breakfast every day. Honour bar is excellent value. Cooked there fresh to order. The hosts give so much help that within a day we were getting around like locals. Good range of rooms. Great for longer stays. We had a great time - business and pleasure!

My partner and I stayed here for one night and adored it. Beautiful grounds with many areas to chill out and enjoy the weather. The owners are very welcoming and made us feel at home immediately. Excellent value for money! It's also an easy 10 minute walk to the Grand Canyon waterpark. If you're in the area, I would definitely put this top of your list to stay.

A slice of heaven. As soon as we stepped onto the property I felt my stress slip away. The property is so lush with beautiful plants and decorations. The rooms are all so unique and well thought out. Al and Nok, the owners are such wonderful and authentic people who help to add to the character of the property and will make every effort to ensure you are happy. For example, prior to our arrival Nok picked up some essential groceries for us so they would be waiting for us when we arrived and Al offerd to drive us to the Airport in the morning if the cab didn't come on time. I would reccomend anyone to stay here who wants an authentic and unique Thai experience. My favorite part of my stay was watching the sun come up in the morning with my coffee in the outdoor kitchen/family room.

A very nice comfortable place to stay. Owner is very accommodating, helpful and friendly. Coffee, beer and massage all at location and very affordable.

Really enjoyed our time here, so welcoming and helpful with organising trips and taxis. Rooms are lovely and clean, rice barn is amazing
