Ma Guest House Chiang Mai

We loved the breakfast that prepared by three super kind ladies. The breakfast veranda was lovely, on the 1st floor and the host was generously let us use it all day whenever a guest'd like.
We had a corner bedroom that was airy & filled with light

Lovely place! Ma is exceptionally nice, organized transportation to next stop, and even gave me snacks for the journey!
The breakfast with sticky rice, fresh fruits, tea/coffee, fried rice etc. was perfect.
Room was clean and as expected to the affordable price, even had a balcony for early morning coffee. Maybe a little bit of noise in the night due to the street in front of the guesthouse, slept like a newborn nevertheless.
And if you need a new haircut, Ma's salon downstairs is premium.

It was the best experience we could ever ask for! Location perfect (5 min walking to the night market), clean room with AC and amazing breakfast every mornings (again, thank you so much). Ma and her team are incredible. You should definitely go to Ma guesthouse!

This was my first night in Thailand and I got recieved with such a warm feeling. The breakfast and serviced we're amazing. Definitly recommend this place for a a stay

YOU NEED TO STAY HERE. This was by far the best place we stayed in all of Thailand. Ma & her family are so warm hearted and welcoming. The included breakfast is so yum and is traditional thai style food. Rooms were decorated so nicely with super dope vintage furniture and unique pieces. The beds were comfy too. 100000% recommend. Also was able to book tours/bus rides thanks to Ma.

The owner, her family, and staff are incredibly accommodating, helpful, attentive, and kind. They went above and beyond to help us, sometimes in unexpected and extraordinary ways. The space is very charming. It feels like an old manor house. The location is wonderful, inside the old city walls with many attractions nearby. The breakfast included is tasty, made with love, and served on a beautiful balcony over the street. Bottled water, coffee, tea, cocoa and snacks are freely available all the time. The price is amazing for everything you get.

Our favorite accommodation during weeks of travel in Thailand! The atmosphere is very cozy and welcoming, with the perfect old city charm. Value for money is unparalleled. Ma, her daughters and their staff are out of this world amazing. They did our laundry, offered us a ride to the airport, and even went out to find limes and seeded them for us! Their kindness and hospitality was truly unbelievable and a rarity. Will come back to Ma's again and again ❤

Highly recommend a stay at Ma Guesthouse! Great central location. Super clean, comfortable rooms and the loveliest hosts. I was travelling solo with my infant daughter and Ma went above and beyond to make sure we were comfortable. Will come back again!

Ma and her staff are FANTASTIC and attract good guests which also makes for a good experience.
The bed is on the hard side (which is par for Asia) - this was the ONLY negative!
The outdoor balcony bathroom is fun, functional and fine to use. Good pressure in the shower and hot water is great.
We were able to leave our luggage as we arrived early (and also when we checked out). We were generously offered breakfast even before we checked in. Breakfast was ALWAYS delicious, (noodles /fried rice/sticky rice) the fruit was always ripe and perfect.
Provided drinking water was greatly appreciated - able to have bottled water and fill your re-useable bottle too!
The common/breakfast area was so beautiful and lovely to spend time in - perfect for watching local life go by!
We felt safe with security measures provided after dark. We had some laundry done for free (but be aware they use highly scented detergent if you are sensitive)
Even though there are bars around, there was not excessive noise at night in the area.
Close to a great public park, pharmacy, loads of cute little places to eat and drink. Walking distance to Sunday night walking street/market.
Lots to discover in the area!
Also check out the salon downstairs if you need a beauty freshen up!

The guesthouse is nice and cozy. The rooms are clean and the staff is nice. The breakfast is traditional Thai but okay as there is also bread, eggs and fruit.

Very friendly staff, nice breakfast. The bathroom is pretty small though and located on a balcony.

Very nice place. Ma was so helpful and nice, the air condition wasn't on its best and she did what she can to help us.th breakfast was tasty, i recommend this place

Stayed at Ma’s Guesthouse with my girlfriend in December 2022 and were blown away by Ma’s hospitality. The guesthouse is excellently located, the room was spacious, clean and well insulated against sound and the wifi was good. Breakfast was nice and there was bottled water provided on every fridge of every floor.

There were other great touches by Ma’s team that made our stay even better like providing free laundry and some delicious waffles freshly made for us. Thanks again - highly recommended!

Hospitality at its best. The whole team of enthusiastic women are on their toes at all times. Well done rooms, Great breakfast, all time access to water, coffee, tea and toast. Located within the old city quarter and all the cafes and temples are accessible to walk. One can also rent out bikes and motorbikes around the area. Wonderful host and great time staying in Chiang Mai.

Fa was an very friendly and the most helpful host we ever had. We arrived early and we were welcomed for breakfast which was delicious every single day of our stay!
We were given invaluable help to get to the bus station too.

We liked so much about our stay! The staff kept the entire place spotlessly clean - they were constantly sweeping and cleaning. Breakfast was incredible. Our family will very much miss the delicious fresh made pad thai and fried rice in the morning. They even did a few loads of laundry for us for free - way above and beyond! The The Guesthouse is within the Old City, but in a corner that is away from a lot of the noise and busyness. We liked the calmness of the area. There is a 7-11 less than a minute walk away and a night market about a 10 minute walk (ate there for dinner each night). My teenagers especially loved a huge park around the corner for basketball, yoga, weightlifting, and sepak takraw. We had a fantastic stay!

I had a great experience with this accomodation. The owner, Ma, is an extremely nice and helpful lady. We arrived early with night bus to Chiang Mai and she let us check, as soon as possible in the morning. When we were leaving, she organized us a cheaper taxi than usual and helped us with other things during our stay. There is a shared bathroom and rooms have AC. Everything nice and clean. Really recommend.

Had excellent stay at guest house. Ma, the owner of guest house very sweet and humble. Everything available in kitchen for cooking if want to cook. Breakfast was excellent, every night Ma asked us breakfast. Also her daughter Fa she is nice too. I would highly recommend to stay over there.

Planning to stay 1 night ended up staying here for our whole time in Chiang Mai, we would definitely stay here again. Reasons why?

1. Cleanliness, everything was so clean.

2. The Owner Ma, she is so very kind and super helpful. If there is anything you need help with she will be there for you. She wants you to feel at home. We had an issue with a driver charging too much, I called Ma and she spoke to him and sorted him out.

3. Location location location, great place to be in the old town. Very close to Sunday night market, also the park where they have the cheapest massage.

4. The staff, it's a family run business and every one is quick to smile and be helpful. All work very hard to make our stay as happy as possible.

5. Breakfast. Made by Ma's sister. She is awesome cook. Each morning there is a Thai dish with some sort of rice. Along with fruits, toast, jams, eggs. If you get there early enough there will be some sticky rice of some sort.

6. Comfort. Beds are comfortable. Rooms all have a unique feel to them, all decorated in various ways which reflects Ma's eye for design and style.

Rooms are clean, breakfast was very good and everyday something else, the owner is very friendly and is very supportive in organizing tours etc! Locations is good. Can be a bit loud because it’s next to a busy street. I would definitely stay here again.
