Quiet and out of the way. A good place to relax and enjoy some nature in small town. Everything you need is walking distance or a short bike ride away. Staff is immediately inviting and the food and drink will make you feel at home. Plus they'll do laundry for a small fee. Washed, dried, and folded. Lovely place.

I really enjoyed my time in Kad Sala Lanna Cultural Homestay located in a tiny and gorgeous woodcraft village. It’s a unique experience where you can meet local woodcraft artisans in action and enjoy the very quiet and lovely atmosphere, away from the crowd. Their amazing carvings are for sale at very reasonable prices. Everything is beautifully decorated with wood works. The people who run it are very attentive. They gave us Thai cooking classes and we helped teaching English to local children. You can take a bike and ride around the lovely neighbourhood with very pretty houses that I didn’t see anywhere else in Thailand and visit local markets. It was an authentic experience that I would recommend to anyone coming to Chiang Mai.

The overall environment of Kad Sala is very relaxing- surrounded by trees and amazing intricately-done wooden houses and sculptures. It is the perfect place to be away from the city but if you want to go to the city, it is just a very easy ride. The people are so nice. The food is excellent from our cooking class. We were able to spend a night at the nearby temple which the staff have arranged for us. I will definitely miss this place. I enjoyed my 3-wk stay.

Kad Sala it's such a beautiful and amazing place to stay, in deep touch with nature and the traditional culture of Thai lama. The hosts are so lovely, and the place is located in the community where you have access to all the woodcarving workshops and you can have the opportunity to volunteer to teach kids on the weekend. Also there's a lot of traditional activities you can do around like spend one night with monks at the temple, Muay Thai lessons, or relax with a Thai massage.

Tranquil environment and completely immersed in nature. I had an extremely refreshing time here at Kad Sala, with the beautiful scenery and endearing staff. Breakfast was good, rooms were clean and there was a wide selection of things to do around the area. It is far from Chiang Mai, but it is great to have a break from the hustle and bustle of the city. I would highly recommend.

This could be the best homestay near to Chang Mai. It was easy to locate and we took a taxi from the airport and it took 45 minutes and paid around 300 bahts. This place is away from the city hustle and traffic and is peaceful and relaxed.

Don't expect 5 star hotel , it's a big property with wood cottages & wood carving workshops. The people are amazing and you learn a lot about Thai food & culture.

We loved our stay with them. Highly recommended

My husband and I spend the most beautiful time here. It's a great opportunity stay in an authentic cosy homestay, close to nature in the beautiful countryside in the north of Thailand. The ladies will help you to enjoy the area and get the most of your visit.
You can also buy some beautiful handicrafts from the many wood carving shops here.
Totally recommended, either you come as a couple, family, with a group of friends, or any other larger group.

Kad Sala is a true cultural homestay. As soon as you arrive you will feel part of a big family. Good opportunity to see and feel the Lanna life style, beautiful surroundings, peaceful place, perfect to get away from the busy Chiang Mai and relax which by the way is just 30 min away by car. The owners are adorable and will make you feel home.

It's a perfect place to get closer to thai culture and to relax and medidate. The luxurious vegetation and the traditionnal wooden houses will blow you away. By staying there, you get the chance to support a Lanna woodcarving community. Just don't expect a city-like experience. The staff is absolutely adorable. Good deal for backpackers.

Kadsala is a place with really good vibes, it’s situated ten minuts far from San Pa Tong so you can move easily by bike for go everywhere. Everything is quiet and calm so you can disconect a lot from the stresfull city living in the thipicals thai aborigines houses. The place is really nice and full of little tiny shops where you can buy the traditional wood carving pieces made by love from the san pa tong artisans.
If you are looking for a peaceful place where the details are prepares by love and relax your mind in a wonderful place just book with them!

Kad Sala is something in between a village, a family business and a cultural center run by Nan, Pantila and Mami, sweet women willing to keep alive San Pa Tong community, Chiang Mai. Kad Sala is trying to offer an alternative to the workers who wish to stay in their hometown: there are craft shops, free English schools run by volunteers, deck houses rented to visitors, a restaurant and a meditation center. The village is a living museum, every house comes from a different part of Thailand, on the first floor there are rooms while on the ground floor there is a serie of open living rooms, where chillout space meets the jungle. We spent here a week, it is a recommended place for a relaxing week in Thai countryside and to people who want to get in touch with Thai traditions.

I had a great stay here for a week as a volunteer. Beautiful traditional Thai houses surrounded by nature. I loved having the opportunity to teach local Thai children and adults English. Highly recommend if you're looking to relax in a peaceful environment.

I stayed at Kad sala with a friend for 5 nights and it was such a great time. Our room was really cozy and we felt home the minute we arrived. This calm and peaceful place is owned by the most friendy people! You can do yoga in the meditation hall, rent a bike to visit the lokal markets or attend a cooking class. All in all we really enjoyed our time at Kad sala and would always come back :)

One of the best place we could stay with my girlfriend in Thaïland !!!
The people who are running this place are absolutly soooo friendly, and have a really beautiful mind. Activities you can find there are running by local people, who want to share their culture, and preserve the beauty of their environnement.
Also good to take a breath from cities, much more quiet and peacefull than you can find in Chiang Mai.
1000 thanks again.

This was my first homestay at Kad sala and it was absolutely amazing! Pantila, Nan, Mamee, and Buddy are all so welcoming and make you feel so comfortable the whole time. Every morning I would wake up with a smile on my face ready to teach English nd learn about Thai Culture. This was for sure a home away from home for me! I will for sure be back at the end of February to volunteer again!
Great place and peaceful location!

It's a countryside homestay where you can stay with local thai people. It has been an amazing experience here. If you like nature and countryside then this place is for you.

You can reach easily by using public transport at 20 baht per person from Chang Mai gate. It takes around 30 minutes. Then its 3 km from the sanpatong police station. They can send a tuk tuk which is only 10 minutes.

The Homestay is very nice and the food. It is amazing. Close to the Bungalows, you can see the artisans carving wood and creating beautiful pieces of art. It is amazing the job they do. I enjoyed my time there.

Interesting place. Stopped off at the end of the Mae Hong Song loop on our way south. The homestay area is a bit unkempt (with very agressive mosquitos) and the "volunteer" are maybe not invested 100% in the project. The ladies running the place are very nice and made our evening meal when the nearby restarant was closed.
We really enjoyed the vibe and quirky nature of the place - just don't expect a hotel type experience.
