Chef Tao’s Thai Cuisine

We came here last night for dinner. I was already intrigued by the ambiance and decor, and then we had dinner and it was among the best places we ate at in Thailand. My partner had chicken Khao Soi and the chef upon my request made a special one for me with seafood. The Khao Soi was absolutely delicious! I was sad when it was finished. Also the staff are all really sweet, kind and professional. We even bought a shirt of the Chef as a nice souvenir to remember this wonderful experience. Definitely recommend!

Excellent food at a magnificent location. I dined at lunchtime during a heatwave, and it was a calm and cooling experience. The service was fast with no sense of rush. I enjoyed a tasty Khao Soi and finished with an Affogato. And I will return to taste other items on the menu.

the cafe is decorated nicely and comfortable. the food taste delicious as well, though compared to street foods around chiang mai the prices can be categorized as pretty pricey but i think its worth it. good service and clean plates. overall its a recommended place if you’re looking for a delicious food and comfortable place

Amazing food and Chef Tao comes out to check personally if everything is ok. My wife's soup was a little hotter than she likes so he took it away and replaced it with a calmer version with no fuss at all. Very accommodating and the food is excellent and good value.

A good restaurant with a lot of different options for food, both Thai and other. There are also a lot of more sophisticated food options with low to high pricing.
I had the Khao Soi and is was great. The service was exceptionally good.

The food in this place is not only yummy, it comes along in big portions. Very nice lush garden to sit in, friendly owner. A bit higher price, but that is ok, as the quality is above the average 😀👍

Food and the Service is Excellent. Chef Tao is very welcoming, will definitely be returning. Great Prices too , don't really understand how this place has any low reviews.

Khao Soi is 10/10!

Khao soy was excellent. The atmosphere is great (upgrade the lounge music maybe), the chef's life story is interesting. Why would you want to eat pad thai, the least creative dish at a place like this?

Highly recommended for Mark Weins to come visit. This is my favorite restaurant in Chiangmai. Excellent food with fair price, nice staff and owner.

Excellent food all around everything we had was top notch. The smokey flavor on the noodles was a real treat. Super friendly staff too.

OMG!! Can't believe the real authentic thai taste still existed 😂 Chef Tao's profile is guarunteed how awesome food is. The design of restaurant is so cozy and comfy. The spacious restaurant can bring big groups of seminar, family, kids etc. On top of that, he also provides cooking class with own fresh garden. I defenitely confirm and recommend this restaurant whenever you think of Chiangmai. Just right next to night walking street in the old city area. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐👍👍

Super place. Very happy that Chef Tao's (a new restaurant) has opened in the previous location of The Glass House. It's a really nice space so I'm happy to go back there, especially to find such excellent Thai food. Tao him self is a really personable guy, happy to talk with customers and visit. He's a properly trained chef that has worked in 5 star restaurants and now is opening this place for himself. The food was GREAT. I mean it. GREAT. I had Pad Ga Prao (ผัดกระเพรา) the most basic Thai dish you can get, and it was some of the best if not the best Ga Prao I've had. My friend had Green Curry (แกงเขียวหวาน) and reported it was also excellent. The prices are not 30 baht, but this is high end Thai food, not from a little shop but from a proper restaurant. I look forward to going back and trying more. My friend said he'd like to try every dish on the menu!

Pad thai from heaven. Red curry chicken same. Prices too low for this quality. I highly recommend mr chef Taos restaurant.

I like the atmosphere of the leafy café. The open place is cooler with a breeze and good to spend hours reading. Also love the cha thai yen, friendly staff and puppy Nana.

The best restaurant in town! The food tastes incredibly good, the portions are huge as well! The place is really pretty, cozy and clean. We were disappointed by NOTHING! The staff is super nice and friendly. If you are in Chiang Mai, you have to go there for dinner. I definitely recommend it!

New japanese menu (side restaurant also Chef Tao) was amazing. Awesome courtyard to dine at either Thai or Japanese and we sat at ‘chefs table’ inside watching our sushi being made. Was awesome. Favourite so far.

Absolutely amazing food and the service was stellar!!! Great presentation too. The staff are very friendly and sweet.
