Chill out bar

Super cheap drinks and (normally) very friendly owner called bomb. He pours very generous amounts, sometimes too much. Atmosphere is very hit and miss but can be nice little crowd sometimes. Nice and chill.

It's a cozy, friendly, fun place literally what you can imagine from the bar name, 'Chill out bar'.

I visited around 11pm and stayed just before closing. I was the only guest in the venue. I still had a great time.

- I recommend this bar if you travel solo. Even when there's no other guests, you can easily chat to the bartenders here. It doesn't have that awkward, stiff vibe here.

- Make sure you bring cash! No card payment available.

- If there's no drink that's intriguing to you, ask a bartender whether a cocktail you wanna drink can be crafted. They might be able to make a cocktail out of menu. I tried tea cocktail 😊🍸

I would love to re-visit this bar when I come back to Chiang Mai.

Really amazing place and the name says it all. Very chill, low-key, relaxing and fun. The clientele made it the best experience. Very friendly people from all around the world. The prices of drinks were very affordable, much better than most bars in Chiang Mai. Thank you again for a very fun experience. I recommend this place for the great atmosphere, and that you can easily have conversations with everyone without blaringly loud obnoxious music.

The owner is one of the nicest people I have met on my travels, and this shines through in his friendly service and heavy hand when it comes to pouring drinks.
Very reasonable drink prices, and a lovely restaurant on the corner next to the bar that does cheap Thai food.

I used to stay around the corner from this place for a month in 2008 and it was my go to place whenever I felt like meeting other travellers. Fast forward to 2024, new owner, but the look and vibes are exactly the same, it's still the most friendly and sociable bar in town with a great mix of people of all ages and walks of life.

My favourite place to go for a drink in Chiang Mai. Bom is such an awesome bartender and such an awesome guy, even if you turn up alone he’ll lift your spirits and make you feel good. Chill out is the one place I will truly miss from Chiang Mai and Bom is also the one person I will truly miss. If you haven’t paid a visit to Bom and his bar then give yourself a favour and do so today!

Literally a hole in the wall but one of the best bars I ever been to. As many say: a great owner and he mixes a serious one at a very competitive price.

Chill Out bar is undoubtedly one of my favourite places in all of Chiang Mai. You can always guarantee that you'll enjoy your time here as the vibe is nice and the owner Bom is a wonderful host. Also the drinks he makes are lethally strong (which is a good thing).

Love this place and the bartender is a great guy. You should plan on getting sauced though because these drinks deliver a punch. Truly a hidden gem!
