Great weekend market in Chiang Mai - note that the market is open daily but the crafts and self made stuff are only available on weekends so do plan your trip accordingly.

The market is split into various sectors, local crafts are in tents surrounding the perimeter of the market, with some air conditioned supermarkets and shops in the centre, and a sheltered farmers market which has organic produce and food stalls.

Overall a great market to come by during the weekend morning - wasn’t overly crowded when we arrived at 9am though there’s a decent crowd already 👍🏻

Looking forward all week to visit Jing Jai Market after reading online reviews and I was not disappointed. Grab-ed my way on a Saturday morning at around 10am and the market was already busy with crowd. Love the creative, cool and positive vibe here, stall owners were very welcoming but not pushy for sales. There were so many local arts, merchandises, food and beverage and local farmers selling their organic produce. There were sheltered area with seats to hide from the sun while enjoying local cuisine entertained by buskers. Jing Jai Market is amazing and I highly recommend visiting here when you are in Chiang Mai! Don’t forget to bring cash for transactions although there’s ATMS here.

I would term this the younger and more modern sister of BKK’s Chatuchak.

The crowd is definitely more intense in the day and the outdoor stores start to wind down at about 3-4pm.

You’ll find a myriad of hand made products from accessories to clothes and beauty essentials.
The styles of the independent stores are definitely less commercial and more boutique-y/indie.
A farmer’s market is also available for fresh produce and some light snacks.

There are also 2 air conditioned zones - a supermarket and a souvenir store/cafe.

If you’re feeling tired after a day of shopping, head over to one of the pavilions for a toksen massage.

This is my favorite market to go on Saturday mornings. It has many stalls with crafts: hand made items and local food items.

It is a very eco friendly market, they are very serious about trash separation and plastic bags, which i think is a very good initiative in a setting where plastic is over used. The local vendors will not give you plastic bags, better carry your own bag.

The craft works are high quality compared to other markets. Local farmers market starts around 6 am and gets crowded by 9 am. better to go early. I think it ends around 2 pm.

Also there is an art gallery which house seasonal exhibitions.

Locally brewed coffee guy sitting in the shade, leather products, hemp clothing, indigo died fabrics from slow stich and good goods shop are my favorites.

Nice place to spend few hours in the morning
of Saturdays.

Has a huge car park on the other side of the road and there is a free shuttle to the market from car park. For bike parking there is a shed in front of the market.

There is an umbrella lending service at the entrance, which is very useful in sunny days

A wonderful initiative to unite lots of small scale businesses under one umbrella and offer us visitors a diverse and beautiful expose of the local crafts, foods, greens and music.

We loved the fact that even recycling has been done in a simple and beautiful way.

Visual elements for all huts/halls/houses with great form language and identity.

This lovely Saturday market is probably one of the most eco-friendly markets in Chiang Mai. The market is massive and full of local vendors — more than 100 I think. The shops are mostly crafted goods from clothes to home decor items. There’s an art gallery where you can enjoy during taking a break from shopping. The farmers market is also nice. Some of them don’t give out plastic bags if not necessary. Additional, I like that they sort the garbage seriously; given that Chiang Mai is a big city, not many places do this. You can even take your trash from outside to recycle here.
Tip: come as early as you could because it can get really crowded after 9am.

Beautiful market with so many local food, bakery, fresh products like vegetables and fruits. Lots of great coffee stalls. Charming cloth design.

Vegan dessert, bread and some local treats like “kaw-ram-fuen” is also available here.

Parking available near by and also not too far from Nimman if you prefer walking.

This is our favorite market in all of Chiang Mai, period! We return at least once a week!

It has a farmer market section that we like to go to shop for our produce for the week (since we like cooking a chunk of our meals at home) as well as a big selection of food stands that has some truly delicious food both savory and sweet!

There is also a Tops market (general grocery store open all week) at the center and a LOT of vendors selling beautiful clothes and homemade crafted items (especially on the weekend). This is perfect if you are looking to bring a gift back home or shop for your wardrobe

It's a shopping paradise...for my wife. You can spend the whole day here and she will be happy except for when you ask her if it's time to go back to the hotel. There's so much to eat and drink for the guys. Best market I've been to in Chiang Mai.

Came on a Sunday and loved the vibe. The market sold a bit more premium items compared to the night market, a bit more pricey but better quality. Also have dozens of food stalls with a range of cuisines. However recommend to come early as by 1pm some food stalls have already sold out and started packing up.
Handful of artists bulking in the area and seats available for you to enjoy. However quite a number of China livestreams sellers which makes some shops difficult to approach

A market where you can find so many handmade goods. If you are into artsy things, linen clothings, cute trinkets, this market is for you. You can also find many variety of foods here, from fresh goods, traditional thai foods/dessert to cakes or pastry. Prepare a UV jacket or umbrella as this is an outdoor market so that will be hot

This is a MUST visit in Chiang Mai. Upmarket but incredibly special with quality handy work and you engage first hand with the creatives. In the farmers market, not sure if open during the week, for me the highlight is the exquisite food, mostly vegan, made by the ladies in one of the stalls. If they don't have a Michelin Star for street food /culinary delights I would be mortified. Photos of their food does not do it justice!

This charming market, open every Saturday and Sunday, is a must-visit. Filled with a variety of clothes and food stalls, all managed by locals of Chiang Mai, it’s a delightful experience. It’s even pet-friendly, so feel free to bring your dog along. I was thoroughly impressed! ♥☺

Visited JJ Market on 21st Jan'24. It's Sunday!!! Couldn't find any parking and we found a car wash! 😂 So we decided to have a car wash and the staff told us to pick it up after 3 hours, which is great! That's plenty of time for us to look around. So just happened to know JJ Market was having Coffee Week, we had the chance to try many different Coffee from different stalls. The atmosphere is good, there are many different Items to browse, especially those handcrafted Items. We had some good time over there!

Eco friendly morning market. Lots of local crafts and goods. Really lovely clothes and wares. The eating area was very nice with lots of different types of food to try. We had edible flowers which was served from a local flower farmer.

The place you CAN’T miss when come to Chiang Mai.

A lot of souvenirs here, the price is a little bit high, but they are stylish. You got plenty of food to choose with good quality. JJ market only open on Saturday, be ware to have it in your itinerary. Quite a chill day.

This is the best market I've shopped here in Chiang Mai. If you are looking for boutique- quality, unique, truly hand-crafted items ... this is the place! You won't find these clothing items at the "night bazaar ".
Plenty of places to grab lunch or a snack and even get a Tok Sen Massage for 20 minutes.
Go early and enjoy!

Weekend morning market.
Very large area with many tourists. You can buy souvenirs and craft items.
There are grocery stores. Farmer's market. Large footcourt.
There is a small bus that takes you around the market for free.

Came here at 7am on Saturday.
JJ market is still relatively quiet at this hour but most shops are already set up! people are starting to stream in and it gets crowded at around 8am, especially the food section.

JJ market have mostly crafted items ranging from jewelry, clothing, bags to pottery.

There are also some permanent stores that you can shop around too (permanent stores are open for the whole week except the stores’ off days).

The food section has a wide selection of bakes and snacks.

Recommend to come early when the booths are open on weekends, otherwise it gets really crowded.

Lovely and high quality market. Good organic food market and design clothes. Really worth it. There are coffee shops if you arrive early in the morning, which is the best. Clothes are really beautiful and also the crafts are very nice. Right next to the kamthieng flower market, which is also worth a visit. You can visit both markets in one morning.
