There is one place that has Pu'er Tea - the only place I know. Chinese Dinosaur Donut Thai Style are great. The have a few booths for the Vegetarian Festival too.

Very vibrant and busy market with lots of shops and eateries. Mostly run by Chinese Thai business people. Must visit spot.

I love markets in the south of France, and I absolutely loved this one too. Lots of locals which is great, it’s definitely not an “only tourists” type of place. Lots of clothes, we found amazing pieces here.

Full of varied fruit, teas, spices and dry goods.
Worth a wander. Not expensive

Chinatown in Chiang Mai covers quite an area (see my map), and covers outside and inside markets, shops, and riverside attractions.

Something for everyone here, but the inside and outside markets are probably the main attractions, unless it's Chinese New Year, when the celebrations will take that honour.

Warorot Market is the #1 shopping experience here - a cavernous and multi level extravaganza.

Neat place, really Chinese, can't expect anything more or less.
A number of stalls; fresh and cooked food (there's an exotic bug stall if you're game), clothes, trinkets but it ain't no night market.
I came around the Lunar New year and the preparations were hectic, nicely decorated and very festive.

Chinatown Chiang Mai is a cool place to check out. It has 2 big markets, as will as all the street vendors. The street food is a bit cheaper than the food inside the food court, but both have great opinions and is very delicious. The shopping is okay, more for women. A lot of really bad knock off ( really bad ). Great for souvenirs or dry fruits and teas

Chiang Mai China town is really worth a visit. Here most of the shops are owned by Thais of Chinese descent.

You will also see a lot of old Chinese signs with shop names in the street, not the new signs popping up everywhere meant for the growing amount of Chinese tourist.

The main item beeing sold here is clothes and fabric, the latter from shops owned by Indians.

In the evening there is a big clothes market in the streets, with very cheap prices

My favorite shop in Chiang Mai China town is a more than 100 yeats old family owned traditional medicine shop.

I have been there several times to get examined by the Chinese doctor.

He looks at your tongue and your nails and asks you some questions, then he mixes some herbs for you to take home and make herbal tea from.

We visited Chinatown during the Chinese New Year this year and it was fun and like any Chinatown around the world it's not very clean but that's kind of the charm. It's got that old world other Nest about it.

This is such a fun, bustling place to visit. When you need a break I recommend the Thamel cafe.
