Pura Vida BJJ and Personal Training

Pura vida is such a great gym. The head coach, James has an incredible talent for teaching. The classes are structured really well and come from a systems based approach. In line with the level of teaching is the gym environment. Classes are hard, fun and all the people there make it an all around great gym to train at. Can't rate it more highly.

I spent a month training intensively at Pura Vida. It was a great time! The coaches have a deep understanding of ground combat and can explain it understandably. The training partners are helpful and friendly. Some students have competitions as goals, creating a dynamic atmosphere of growth.

A unique feature of Pura Vida is the focus on Submission Wrestling. For the ground BJJ NOGI with James, for the takedowns freestyle wrestling with Nat. The perfect grappling combination for MMA and self-defense!

The place where I first started training Jiu jitsu. This place is an amazing spot to rolls and meet some really great people. Top notch coaches. A ton of great memories here. So happy to have found this place.

The best place I’ve trained in Chiang Mai. Always clean, friendly people. English/ Thai speaking. Coach James going through all jiu jitsu technique details for everyone. Wrestling class with coach Nat is awesome as well!

love this gym! excellent instruction, clean, and the atmosphere is incredibly welcoming. highly recommend if you’re a newbie and want to learn, or a stone cold killer looking to roll with some high level guys. i’d only rolled a few times before starting here and they made me feel like family. five stars.
