BED Chiangmai Gate Hotel

This must be one of the best hotels I've stayed. Don't be fooled by it being a 3star hotel because its hospitality is 5star! The staff are very warm and friendly, they are attentive and they listen to you. They are always willing to provide suggestions if you require them. Rooms are clean and modern with a minimalistic touch. I appreciated the free flow water, snacks and fruits that are available in the lobby bar all day and night. Would definitely stay again!

We’ve traveled to over 30 countries and I’ve got to say this is honestly one of the better hotels we’ve stayed at. Not a luxury hotel, but it’s perfectly set up as a hotel. Super clean, spacious rooms, amazing free breakfast, the pool is clean and quiet, the free water is a huge win and little touch that makes a huge difference when traveling in a warm country. The staff are super welcoming and helpful. The bed is more comfortable than most Asian hotels I’ve stayed at with fluffy pillows. Location is right next to old city while being quietly set back from a main street. Walkable to lots of restaurants, markets, bars and laundry services. Highlight of our trip around Thailand.

A unique hotel for such places. Very clean, high standards, quiet, very attentive staff. Location is good enough for walking to the old city and night bazaar. Breakfast was very good. Not too much variety, but all is tasty. The food could have been warmer. Highly recommend.

Pros: Really nice helpful staff. Really awesome that they have free snacks, juice and water 24-7. Great breakfast. Clean rooms.
Cons: Rooms are minimalistic. Especially the sink/bathrooms and closet area. Would recommend adding more closet space and areas to put toiletries and towels in the sink area.

To start, the hotel staff are extremely attentive and accommodating! Gave recommendations to us when we needed, went the extra mile to make us coffee, if we wanted, and just overall very friendly! The hotel itself is also very clean and modern. Well-maintained, and the adult only aspect is nice as well! Located in the central part of the city, it’s close by to nearby markets, as well as some temples! Had a great stay here!!

You know your favourite hostel, the one you visited years ago and had just the most outgoing, personable, and international staff that went out of their way to make sure you’re having a good time? This place has that vibe but instead of 4 bed shared dorm, there’re big, clean and, importantly, cool rooms.

This isn’t to imply it’s a party place, it certainly wasn’t during my stay, but there’s a common area (the lobby, where breakfast is served) where there are seats and frequently there’s a couple staff there offering local advice, making sure everything is going great, and just there if you need them. It’s like an (unpretentious) 5 star experience at a 3 star price. I didn’t think this place would live up to the reviews (they’re so good!) but I can’t recommend it enough.

Free juice, cereal, coffee, yogurt, cup noodles available in said common room at all hours too. Great perk. Hospitality does a fantastic job cleaning too. Location is, I think, ideal - even if you’re not here for the weekend market there’s a gate market a 3 minute walk with incredible food (evening-night).

Highly recommend this hotel if staying in Chiang Mai. The staff is wonderful and willing to help you with anything. After a long day of hiking, we were even greeted by the front desk with Thai tea and coconut popsicles! They definitely go above and beyond to make you feel welcome. The breakfast was great as well and the location was perfect for exploring the city.

The outstanding feature is the staff. They were all smart, nice and outgoing. Really noticeably better than other good hotels.

The room was all good and the toilet / shower / sink layout works better than most, especially for a smaller space. We loved the shower water pressure after the pathetic flow in our last hotel Himku, which I did not bother to rate.

This was our third hotel in Chiang Mai. A good choice.

Great hotel close to the center with a great different breakfast every morning. The room is spacious and the bed very comfortable. The staff is also very kind and helpful. Snacks all day long 😋

Rooms are very modern. Services and breakfast are something special , stuff always look after you, with good advice and fantastic services. Location you are just right there working distance to anything you want.

Great customer service and breakfast! This hotel is located in a quiet neighbourhood, although occasionally you might hear music from the hotel next door if the windows are open. There are some wonderful cafes and bars within walking distance. I thoroughly enjoyed my entire stay!

What a hidden gem! Loved this place so much. The staff here are by far the highlight. The make you feel like family and are just so nice, kind, there to help at any time and there for a chat too. There is free water, tea, coffee, juice, cereal, snacks all day and night long. No kettle in the room but there because you get them free in the reception. Which was nice as each time I went down I then stayed and had a chat with the staff who were always so interesting.
Breakfast is excellent. It’s a mixture of international and Thai and each day is different.
The room is lovely, not huge but good enough. The pool was really cold which was nice after a hot humid day out and about.
When we first arrived I didn’t feel it was a good area because it was outside of the old town but actually it was fab. There was so much to see so close by: a really nice coffee shop and restaurant around the corner called Cozy, the Saturday street market steps away, loads of laundry places on the next street, some gorgeous temples in the area too. My favourite was the silver temple which was like mins walk away.
I highly recommend this place for a stay. We honestly didn’t want to leave. Loved everything about it. A huge kudos to the staff you make it amazing!

Nice location, great amenities (love the pool, unlimited free drinks and snacks), very good local breakfast, and most importantly, the service here is exceptionally fantastic! I’m taken care very well at this hotel. Every staff we encountered was nice, hospitable and speak very good English. We asked the front desk recommendations about food, tour and hiring a car a couple of times. They are really friendly and super helpful! They also care the guests very much. They offered us ice creams when we got our sun bath on the pool benches. From the first day till the end (we stayed 3 days), I have not had any bad experience. I would totally recommend this hotel to everyone!

HIGHLY RECOMMEND. The staff provide an exceptional service which made our stay so memorable - we were always greeted with a smiling face, provided with local recommendations, constantly offered (free) food and drinks at the hotel, they even helped us return our scooter and get our deposit back very late at night. When they are not at the front desk, they help serve breakfast, clean up the communal area, restock the fridges or attend to any needs for guests. Everyone is so friendly and speaks really good English. Clean spacious rooms with daily room service. The hotel is also within close proximity to old city and walking distance to Saturday night market. Do yourself a favour and stay here when visiting Chiang Mai!

Excellent hotel. Booked a triple room, and it totally met our expectations. The rooms are clean and comfortable. The beds are also pretty comfortable. They have a concept of hospitality where guests can just come down from their rooms any time they want to grab some water, orange juice, milk, apple juice, bananas etc. I also think the breakfast tastes really good, with a decent variety of things to eat. Furthermore, room service is available everyday. Basic necessities are met, like a functional refrigerator and safe. Furthermore, the staff are really friendly and deal with any matters swiftly. Even the owner of the hotel came down one morning to ask guests for feedback for improvement. Goes to show the excellent customer service of this hotel.

Highly recommend this place to anyone visiting Chiang Mai. The hotel is close to most of the attractions in old town and most things are within walking distance. The room itself is very clean. We had a really comfortable and quiet stay. The best thing about the hotel is the staff. I've never stayed in a hotel where the staff are so accommodating. It really makes things a thousand times better than other hotels. Would love to come back again.

I have to share my wonderful experience at this hotel, and I promise that I will stay here again if I come back to Chiangmai one day.

First of all, this hotel offers awesome hospitality - all the staff are super friendly and make you feel at home. They always smile, have small talks with guests, offer help whenever needed, and truly care about guests’ experience here. It was my parents’ first time in Thailand, and they were amazed by the hospitality. They were especially impressed by Neo because of his great service and friendliness :)

Secondly, the food and beverage here are so good, including the breakfasts and a variety of drinks that you can take from the fridge anytime during the day. Neo even offered us some ice cream which was exactly what we needed in such a hot day!

Thirdly, the location is also exceeding expectations. The hotel is very quiet at night, but actually it’s very close to many tourist attractions, and it’s quite convenient to get to any place in Chiangmai from here.

Last but not least, this hotel is small but the facilities are very nice. It has a small pool that looks pretty in sunshine.

I can tell from my own experience that the owner of this place believes in the good sides of people and wanted to inspire both staff and guests to treat each other nicely. Thank you very much for giving us a beautiful memory of Chiangmai <3

I am vegan and was given plenty of good food each morning. The staff is friendly and helpful. The hotel is clean and comfortable. The hotel is walking distance to coffee shops, temples, restaurants, etc. I would stay here again.

The breakfast was very very good. Unexpected good.
Like the bed and the hotel and everything. We would come back again :)
