a homey, cosy, friendly restaurant that brings together organic produce from all over Thailand. Their dishes are delicious, high quality, the staffs are very attentive with friendly service. Be that adventurous eater and you will not regret! I also love love love their desserts. A reconstruction of childhood sweets with different textures and never too sweet.

Please keep in mind the size of the restaurant. It is recommended to always make reservation a couple of days before hand and you won’t go wrong.

One of the best restaurants in Chiang Mai.
The moment you step in, you can tell the chef owner is so passionate about creating food.
Great and interesting food, good service.
Must try!

Both lunch and dinner by reservations only. Michelin guide restaurant. The 10 course dinner will last about 2.5 hours. 2500฿ for dinner which is very good value for the quality of food served. Decent selection of both alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks also. Well worth a trip down no matter where you are in Chiang Mai for a meal.

Visited Blackitch based on a friend's glowing recommendation for a top-notch fine dining experience in Chiang Mai. Today's lunch showcased a 12-course menu centered around the monsoon season, cleverly incorporating local ingredients from across Thailand. Beyond the exquisite food quality, the moderate portion sizes were a pleasant departure from the usual excesses of fine dining. If you're in Chiang Mai, it's a definite recommendation, but securing a reservation is key, given the limited tables and three rounds per day (one for lunch, two for dinner).

I would say my dinner was a 10/10 BlackKitch experience.

Booked over their official website about 3 weeks prior and required deposit for the dinner, I totally agree with it.

The dinner I had was in November 2023, I struggled to write a review as my words may not good enough. Team BlackKitch is very professional, friendly and well knowledgeable on every aspect on the food, Service team are very good in English as most of the guests on my night were tourists.

My menu was a 11 courses Moonsoon Delight Tasting Menu. Vegetables ingredients were from local finest organic farm, seafood were from the sea around Andaman Ocean, from south of Thailand. Most appreciated that chef Black honor the food from his country as many of the fine dining restaurants rather use Ingredients from western countries. I feel so touching that how chef well using seasonal goodies in Thailand.

There's a lot of details from the garnish, sauce, texture, taste combinations the dishes we had, thank you for all the explanation, myself is also working in this industry and I feel the passion and fire in the house, thank you very much for such a great experience.

Thank you for remembering me of no coriander, celery in my meal as a made a note on my booking, I was really taken care of.

The only little downside was a bit rush for our early dinner session at 5pn, we wished to enjoy more and slow down the the pacing but we were shy to return the table too late for the second session.

My friends had flown back to SG and I had a few hours before my flight to KL so booked myself in at the last minute. Blackitch were kind enough to host me and it was an incredible experience. Everything was beautifully curated and they truly sourced locally and exposed me to a wide variety of tastes and textures in the process.
Black even brews his own beer and the wheat beer I had was gorgeous.
The restaurant decor is down to earth and simple - just the way I like it. Its a lovely experience, do visit if you get the chance

In a word, Amazing! 10 course tasting menu and 90% were on target for my palate.

Seasonal menu and all farm to table with thoughtful flavor pairings. Most were flavor explosions in the mouth!

Lots of unexpected that makes you go, huh? Dang, why didn't I think of that?

The service is on another level together: Discreet and never overbearing.

Wish they had a wine pairing by the glass. I opted for their own sake which is a large bottle! Thankfully, the table to my left was occupied by another one person diner and I was able to coax her to share the bottle! (Thank you!)

Wonderful tiny restaurant with an impressive tasting menu with over 10 courses, most of which were inventive, delicious and satisfying. They’re all tiny but you’ll certainly be full by the end. Extremely local and seasonal, you’ll have a different meal every time you go. About 80 usd per head it’s pricey for Chiang Mai but this would be 150$ in NYC for this level of creativity, execution and effort. Worth checking out for sure

Amazing fine dining, Michelin star quality experience.
The food was excellent, story behind each ingredient & sourcing it from different parts of Thailand was really fascinating and transported us to a whole different world.
Our host, Junior, was professional, charismatic, positive and a passionate storyteller.
I loved that they accommodated my lactose intolerant diet without compromising the authenticity of the original menu.
It is really a great feeling knowing that the food you are eating is supporting the environment, tribes & farmers from all around the country.
Id definitely go again & recommend it to everyone.

Really enjoyed this tasting menu. Pairing familiar flavours with new and local ingredients to the western pallet. Everything was nicely flavoured. Hearing fermented fish always brings thoughts of strong flavours but the chef really controls the use of ingredients for a subtle and enjoyable experience. Personally don't like oysters so this was the only dish out of 10 I didnt enjoy but the service, ambience, restaurant and menu were brilliant. The wine list was also very good and we enjoyed a delicious orange wine that paired well with this menu. Would recommend.

LOVE IT! Would go again the next time I'm in Chiang Mai.

Food was fantastic! Love how beautifully and delicately every dish was prepared and presented.

Booking.
We booked one month in advance via email and was replied promptly to and they were very considerated towards the different food preferences and allergies we had.

Food.
We had the Warm Summer Menu and every bite was like an orchestra.

The starters were Kuzu Tofu, Wild Mushroom Tart & Cashew Nut Miso with Fish of the Day. Refreshing, Umami and WOW. Pardon my lack of vocab but WOW. These 3 starters brought our expectation sky high and the remaining dishes did not fail us.

The Somtam Tomyam & Grilled Shrimp packed a series of powerful flavour punches and the Shrimp was grilled to PERFECTION. I wished they had given me a full shrimp instead of half. The Tomyam powder and Somtam though were 2 super familiar and distinctive flavours were beyond expectations. EVERY SINGLE BITE was a hit with spice, flavours & umami.

The Smoked Fish with Sumac and Akha style Peanut Relish was suprising to the tastebud. The fish was sweet with the added aroma from being smoked and the peanut relish was more refreshing and flavourful than expected.

The Sundried Squid with Onion. OMG. They served a beautifully fried onion ring in the dish. The onion added a crunch and sweetness to the tender squid.

The Pen Shell with Sa-Mee-Sam and Lychee was a good flavour break. The sweetness of the lychee broth with the pumpkin puree served with pen shell and lychee flesh was super refreshing and appetising. By this time I was soooooo in love with the food I was nodding like an idiot.

My NUMBER 1 FAVOURITE of the night, GOBY FISH WITH GALANGAL. It was like ASMR which gives you the goosebumps. The fish was super sweet and juicy, the scales and skins were super crispy. The white sauce was coconuty with just a compact drop of oil that changed up the whole flavour, the green sauce was freaking delicious and when both sauces mixed together, *ahhhhhhhh~ (enter the gates of heaven).

Baked rice with free-ranged pig farming with soup was earthy, with soft bone (or was it diced pig ear) mixed into the filling that give it a little texture. I am bias, so the pig liver was sooooooo tender and yummy.

My friends had kolae beef next and cause i don't eat beef, i was served king mackerel with a satay sauce (without peanuts). This was the only dish I was disappointed with. I was hoping they serve me meat (chicken or pork) but fish again, and the Goby fish was hard to beat so I didn't enjoy this as much.

We had the Karen Rice Porridge with wild herbs broth and free-range chicken. And our group of three finally had a divide in opinion, while 2 of us enjoyed this dish, and found it as a good hearty end, 1 of us didn't like the broth and felt that it tasted too "grassy". Personally i like the use of 3 different kind of grains giving it different textures and taste.

Hang in there with me! Cause we finally reach dessert. AROY MAK MAK! Not too sweet corn mochi, buckwheat and hojicha waffle ice cream and somshun panna cotta that tasted different with every single bite. Perfect end to the perfect night! WONDERFUL!

Drinks.
We had our drinks recommended and both the Sake and umeshu were so smooth, naturally sweet and fragant.

A must go! Best dining experience.

This was the first tasting menu that we tried and we will definitely come back for a different seasonal menu. Our server, Junior, was very knowledgeable about each ingredient and described them beautifully. My husband and he discussed the dishes enthusiastically.

I was worried about my experience as I have a severe distaste for mushrooms, but the mushroom dish was exquisite 👌 its highly recommended you try all the ingredients together, which I did even though it was mushroom. The flavors blended beautifully.

This was an expensive meal in Chiangmai but for a tasting menu with 10 dishes, it's worth the price and the experience itself. You can see the effort and thought that was put into the menu.

Michelin Star quality. Amazing place, the atmosphere, the service and the food are perfect. The stuffs is really kind too.
Food was incredible. 22 bites of stunning flavours. If you are in Chiang Mai don’t miss the opportunity to visit this restaurant.
Price is normal according to the service and quality, I spent 130€ with different wine/ sake tasting. I don’t want to be spoiler with the pics but the place deserved to be known for the excellent work they are doing! Fully recommend!

Unique culinary experience in Chiang Mai. Beautifully selected ingredients from Thailand with a story. The first course started with ingredients from the ocean and the last ingredient was from the mountains. Chef puts great effort in the combination of flavors, textures and presentation. We felt honored to have the chef come to the table to explain about the dishes he prepared. In addition to the kind staff and excellent explanation of the dishes, the restaurant’s interior and the setting of the table is beautiful as well.

Absolutely exceptional dining experience. I was able to catch their 22 bites of 2022, since I dined back at the end of January. Every course was full of flavour and texture. Creative and unique use of local ingredients. My favourites would have to be the stuffed chicken wing, shrimp with roti, Blackitch Chicken soup, the pork broth, Amasake Cheese Pie, well, everything really!

It’s the kind of fine dining that I enjoy, exceptional food with great respect for the source, flavours, and artistry, without the snobbery. How I wish I met Chef Black and Chef Ano, but they weren’t there that night. The people working still took great care in presenting and explaining every dish. It added to the memorable experience.
I am a solo diner, so I was so glad they accepted my reservation. It’s always so hard to get a seat when you are dining solo.

Hope to come back to Chiang Mai, and will definitely come back here again! Must visit for everyone in the area!

Had a great experience here last night where the menu changes seasonally to bring you the freshest ingredients from throughout Thailand. Very friendly service! I especially enjoyed the “slow cooked beef tongue” and “rice with beef” from their summer menu.

Cute little place in the hip Nimman area. This is supposed to be one of the better places in CNX plus having a bib gourmand, so went in with some expectations. A fixed tasting menu of ten different courses excluding an amuse sets you back around 2500thb, but truly worth it.

All courses have thai foundations (herbs, curry bases etc.) but also include Japanese, Malay, middle-eastern and sometimes European/French influences and ingredients. Some courses really hit the spot such as the prawn with papaya salad and the rice-pork intestine "sausage" with an amazing broth consisting of middle-eastern spices amongst others. Deserts and amuses were outstanding as well.
The Thai flavors are present in each dish whilst most dishes seem to be focused on umami elements such as mushrooms and fermented ingredients, balanced by a variety of pickled stuff amongst others (never had pickled tomatoe before). Junior was a great host and had a lot of knowledge. 8.7/10, one of my better meals in Asia.
Only tip to the brigade would be to mind the pace, which was a bit too high for me (might also be me being a European) . Make sure to try their homecraft beers and sakes.

Beautiful dishes assembled from diverse biomes around Thailand and surrounding regions. We were given a card illustrating the different environments (mountains, farms, island waters, etc) and the dishes they were sourced from and inspired by. Quality of the ingredients was top notch, each dish well balanced. Amazing and unpretentious experience for anyone with any interest in food.
