Great old fortress and nature. Excellent view. Steep approach. Be ready for some climbing if you want to enter into the fotress. Some parts are Inaccessible.

A beautiful fortress in a beautiful place, but you have to be careful when walking because it is guarded, there are steep slippery rocks that one has to climb.

Nice short hike to the ruins of the old castle. You can walk and climb freely all over the ruins, there is nobody that looks after the ruins. You can explore it in detail on your own.

Hard to climb, not for little kids. But the view is worth it.

It's a steep climb to the top.... but once there it worths every drop of sweat. Wear comfy shoes, bring a stick to help you climb and take your photo camera because you're gonna enjoy the view. Cheers!

Amazing nature, short hike from the parking area up to the hilltop, you may want to wear hiking shoes, as the path is a bit slippery (especially in Autumn). Next to the parking lot you can stay, as well as grab something to eat or drink in the nearby cafe.

Very nice walk from Lepterija to Soko Grad. Might be also demanding if you don’t have proper shoes and it is not dry. But worth of going there.

The fortress was founded in the 6th century during the reign of Eastern Roman Emperor Justinian I, to prevent incursions of Pannonian Avars and Slavs into Balkan peninsula. In 1172, it was occupied by Stefan Nemanja and became part of the medieval Serbian state. During the expulsion of the Bogomils from Serbia, Nemanja had a clash with the administrator of Soko, who was a Bogomil himself. Ottoman Empire occupied it in the year 1398. The town was destroyed in a violent Ottoman attack,[citation needed] and today the only thing visible is the remains of the upper town with a gate, walls, and three towers. Soko Grad translates as "falcon city". It got its name because there were many falconers in the town, who paid taxes with trained falcons.
Easy to medium climb with great views and plenty of places to rest.

A little bit harder path but 90% of the people I have met have arrived to the place. I have even worn sandals 😁

Good walking area, had a talk with a woman who sold magnets and found out some details about the area. I didn't go up all the way to the medieval tower as the walk seemed dangerous and slippery although some people went up with small children which I don't recommend during autumn and winter. Didn't know they had like a parking space nearby so I made a longer walk, didn't mind all that much.

Great place, but not easy to climb there. Do not go in slippers, as a matter of fact please have your mountaineering shoes. It is not an easy walk to the top, it is a rock climb and it is not recommended if you are not up for a challenge.

Colors during autumn are generaly magical in this region, and Soko grad is no exception. Marks are visible all the way, and last part is the most difficult. We walked all the way from our accommodation that was near the city centre, and it doesn't take too long, around hour and a half, but it is posible to cover first part to Lepterija by car. It is unbelievable where they built the fortress.

It's on a steep hill but worth the effort. Medieval fortress with a great view. Surrounding nature is breathtaking with a crystal clear river leading you the way.
