La Cuptor

La Cuptor is such a wonderful restaurant in the old historic town of Sibiu. It has a chic vibe with the most attentive garçons. We ordered Bruchetta and it has thick slices of med-well done beef that is mouth watering with a side of mix veggies. The chicken was tender and creamy with peas. The onion soup was great, yum. Highly recommended for sure!

Good choice of meals, meat is done perfectly (medium). Interesting mix of tastes.

There are some downsides though. Alcohol is more expensive than e.g. in Braşov. Dessert is good yet pretty simple taste.

I did my research before embarking on my trip to Romania, and La Cuptor made the list - and did not disappoint. I stopped in around 2pm on a Tuesday, and even then they were about half full. I was seated with no reservation.

They've got a menu in English, and the servers also spoke English - lucky for me. I asked for recommendations, and they suggested several dishes that are cooked in the huge oven that is open to the room. I went with the marrow to start (good) followed by the lamb. The lamb is served in a bowl with pastry over the top - you break it all apart and it becomes the most delicious lamb stew you've ever tasted. Truly wonderful. If I lived here, this would be my "go to" restaurant! Thanks so much to the staff for making me feel welcome, and for the amazing food.

I enjoyed a delicious and decadent meal at La Cuptor during a recent trip to Romania. Dining at La Cuptor was one of the true highlights of my trip.

The theme of the menu here is modern interpretations of classic Romanian and European dishes. Recommended dishes: bone marrow, onion soup, duck with black rice, signature dessert 🤩 .

An absolute gem of restaurant in middle of Sibiu historic center.
Great food a cozy atmosphere inside with attentive service will give you all you need for a very pleasant evening.

Recently visited this restaurant and was thoroughly impressed by the attentive and friendly service provided by our waiter. Not only did he make us feel welcome, but he also went above and beyond to ensure that our dining experience was a memorable one.

The food was also exceptional, particularly the starters which were bursting with flavor. It was even more impressive to learn that the chef behind these delicious dishes was a 24 year young woman! Her talent and passion for cooking really shone through in each dish.

Overall, I would highly recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for delicious starters and excellent service. Can't wait to come back!

La Cuptor ia one of the few places in Sibiu where the quality never dropped during the years and continued to innovate. The chefs always have a nice selection change , and the food is always top quality. Easily top 3 restaurant in Sibiu.

Had an excellent meal in Cuptor 5 years ago, these days came back to Sibiu, so I went for rerun. They are still rockin'.

After going to a couple a tourist traps in Sibiu, I am so happy to find this restaurant with top notch quality in food, service and drinks. We ordered lemonade and it was freshly squeezed served with honey and sugar at our discretion. The fish was fresh and tasted great, the chicken and the salat were very flavorful and the burger was tasty and the burger fries reminded me of homemade fries. We also had an appetizer of baked peppers and traditionally baked bread which was enough for three people to share. Overall a very pleasant experience, fast service and great food, Also we visited around 5PM and it was rather quiet in the terrace with just 4 other tables taken, so it felt a bit private as well if that might interest you.

Great food, wonderful ambiance, clean bathrooms, friendly service, and COOL FIRE OVEN. Out of all dishes, we recommend the bone marrow toast appetizer and chocolate lava cake dessert the most! The dishes came out in a timely manner and the staff were able to answer all our questions!

We ate here again and everything was as expected. Will definitely come back each time we'll visit Sibiu.

The restaurant looks nice and the big oven is quite cool, nice idea. The food is good and you can try lots of dishes and almost most of them have something interesting or done differently.
For instance I had a Coqulet with black garlic ice-cream.
The restaurant is not far from the main area of the old Town. Maybe 6-7 minutes walk.

Found La Cuptor by chance and so happy we did! This small restaurant is a gem. Nice ambience, decor and music. Sophisticated menu with tasty options. Great and efficient service. It has my heartfelt recommendation!

What a lovely dinner!

The atmosphere was cozy and relaxed, the food delicious (would totally recommend the Măduvă, best one I have ever had).
We also tried the different beers they offer.

Excellent food and services! I went there continuously 2 days for lunch.

The bone marrow is epic! Must try!

Goie gras dish is another surprise that the aroma is rich and big in portion.

We had ribeye steak on the second day, the beef is very tender and tasty. The kitchen made a little mistake on the sauce, the chef sorted it out quickly and the restaurant offered us two dessert dishes on the house !

All foods were excellent and we enjoyed the cozy environment as well!
Must try if u travel to sibiu!

Very tasty food and the service was great, kudos for the waiter.
Prices are steep, but it is justified for the location and the food/service quality.

Listen, don’t walk to this place… run! It truly is a gemstone. When I think about comfort food, this is where I picture it to be served at.

The dishes are so magically described in the menu that it will be a challenge to pick just one or two. The portions are really generous and especially tasty. You won’t be disappointed. 🌟
