This place is amazing! It's far away enough to feel like you left home anything that can stress you but close enough to a village with civilization in case of any need.
It's full of trails you can follow to explore the area, beautiful, friendly dogs and people with stories that worth to be listened.
I've heard lot of legends about the place and I can't wait to return and explore the cave. It's full of cabins for rent for all pockets.

Imposing. Cant go in unless you really know what you're doing and have proper equipment as well as a "go-ahead" from its caretakers. You can visit the entrance from both sides. We started from the left bank since the right one had too many overgrown weeds.
This cave has some pretty interesting achivements. You can read about them on google.

Really massive cave, worth seeing it. The access is done by car near the cave, I recommend park it 800m before to avoid getting stuck. The access inside the cave is not possible because of the water. It was the best thing visited in the area along with Vanatarile Ponorului and Bears cave

Very friendly owner, extraordinary place near the large cave portal, very nice, clean room. Breakfest included. Highly recommended!

Impressive cave. Access is almost too easy as there is a parking lot right next to the cave on the monastery premises. The little village at the base of the cave is charming and very clean. Good starting point for many hikes! The cave hosts the largest bat colony in Europe and cannot be visited inside but it is definitely worth a visit!

Easy climb, clear route, but a few stray dogs, so I usually carry some dog biscuits to share with them.

Spectacular entrance in the cave - beautiful
Unfortunatetly , you need special equipment to enter - the water is deeper than 1m (end of April) , and the cave has high wals of rock which you cannot climb without climbing gear

Impressive natural scenery with an ice-cold river that flows through the rocks just in front of a massive cave.

Beautiful cave entrance, reachable by a medium level hiker. I would advise good hiking shoes, as there are rocks one needs to walk on.

A breathtaking place, less known to the public probably because its remoteness. If you travel by car you can park at the nearby monostary, the stream is at a 5 min walk from there. If you dont mind getting wet you can go into the cave the stream is coming out from. Otherwise the cave is unaccesible. Going over the hill to the other end of the cave is also possible and recomended for regular tourists. Usually its a 45 min walk.

This is a childhood favourite. The cave is protected due to the bat populations native to it (and which used to be many, many more 20 years ago). However, one can easily get to the entrance of the cave by foot by taking the trail just behind the little shelter by the footpath, near the signpost. Be quiet during the visit to avoid disturbing wildlife and take your trash with you (including dirty nappies)! Access to the area is straight-forward: a narrow road, which is now being asphalted, from Salciua village to Sub Piatra village (catun in Romanian, a mountain outpost, if you will), then a short (200 m) footpath. It is en route to Valtarile Ponorului, a 90 minute hike from the cave) - doable with small children and other local attractions.

It is a beautiful, interesting place. Can't enter in the cave because of the water, but the entrance and the suronding areas are amazing

One of the greatest experience. I've done this route several times, and last time I did it with my kids and it was awesome

Beautiful area. You can hike around, mountain bike and downhill, speleo, even canyoning (vanatarile ponorului)
