Max The Original

This place was pretty great! Birds were singing in the bathroom, the waiter kept making jokes and the inside was damn cozy.

As for the food, the food was just great! I simply loved the duck breast with celery mousse. Really good combination!

The dessert was also delicious!

All in all a good experience! Nothing disappointed and we'll definitely return!

Very good food and very nice restaurant for vegetarian lovers. If you are a vegetarian person and are looking for a nice place to eat in Sibiu then definitely you should visit Max - the original as their food quality and taste is the best. I loved it specially the lentil curry and grilled salad. Next time I will eat fillet trout. Thank You Max restaurant. Youre the best !!!

This place is the definition of "fine dining" in Sibiu. Food was excellent, drinks were good and the staff very kind and professional. They took my gluten free request without any issue providing a couple of options safe for a celiac. They catered for other allergies as well. Quite happy with our experience. Prices, however, are on the higher end too

I strongly recommend Max - nestled in the beautiful old town of Sibiu, it was really a pleasure to spend the night there. Food was so good, especially the beef that Bogdan recommended was amazing, maybe the best we've tried. The cornmeal cheesecake was truly delightful too (still thinking about it).
The ambiance was warm and very cozy for a winter night.
And as a bonus - there is a wheelchair accessible entrance (it's an alternative one so notify the place in advance) and wheelchair accessible toilet.

Will definitely come back again if I'm in Sibiu.

I really liked the food and the staff was friendly. We ate the duck dish and pavlova. The waiter was nice and told me we could have smashed potatoes instead of the side dish that was listed there for the duck.
Both, the main dish and the dessert were delicious.

A delightful time dining here (twice!)

This is a great Italian style casual restaurant. Has a nice open courtyard plus a large indoor seating area. We went there on both nights during our visit to Sibiu (once in courtyard & once inside) and served by the lovely Roxanna who was friendly, helpful & made us feel welcome with her smiles & attentive service (despite restaurant being very busy both nights). The food is delicious, generous in portions & reasonably priced. The drinks menu had a decent range of local wines priced below 100 lei. Standouts of our food was the grilled octopus, the duck dish, steak, fish as well as the various pastas & salads. Our group of 9 managed to try out almost the entire menu during our 2 visits & no dish disappointed us!

Our 2nd visit was by default as we decided to leave another restaurant around the corner due to bad indifferent service plus no food after 90 minutes of waiting (check my other review for this) & arrived after 9 pm. Despite being busy, Roxanne found us a table of 9, organised our drinks/meal & we were happily eating away within 10 minutes of being seated. Excellent service from all the wait staff - they gave us good eye contact & checked on tables frequently to clear dishes etc, smiled alot & were sincere in ensuring we enjoyed our meal. There was even live music in the courtyard during our 2nd visit - very entertaining & enjoyable. Well done Max The original & we highly recommend this place.

A great place with soul in the old Sibiu town. I was impressed with both the food and the service, and let's not forget the great atmosphere of the preserved old building. And this comes with accessible seating for the disabled, which is sometimes a feat at historic sites.
All meals we tried were very tasty. I was especially impressed by the beaf Bogdan suggested. This was easily the best steak I've had in terms of presentation and taste.

Thanks to Bogdan, the chef and the whole staff for a wonderful evening.

First experience of dining in Sibiu and it didn't disappoint. Great food, great ambiance, and amazing service. The lady who took care of us really made us feel at home. Vă mulțumesc!

I went to this restaurant two weeks ago and I had a lovely time! Great atmosphere and food! The staff was very kind, especially our waitress Andreea, such a cool girl and a kind soul! I totally recommend this place!

The food was very good, and nicely arranged on the plate. But the best thing was the waiter, Mr Petrica deserves a raise, he's doing an amazing job and made us feel welcome. Thanks again for your service 🤩

Delicious pizza, very good pasta and a very relaxing atmosphere. I did not tried the desserts but it looked very irresistible to the table next to us. Try the marinara pizza, we loved it

The food was absolutely delicious and the atmosphere very cosy. I warmly recommend eating here on any occasion. I want to thank the staff for offering me a free Hugo because I asked for a Mojito which they couldn't make due to the lack of an ingredient.

One of the most special restaurants in Sibiu. Although it is not located, fixed in the city center, the food is an inviting flavor and a delight for the taste buds.

I speak only of the location, I didn't have a chance to stay, but the place is gorgeous, I think the work they've done to restore a historical building is amazing!
Will need to reserve one day!
