Crama Sibiul Vechi

Great and friendly service and excellent food. We tried the bean with bacon soup, delicious! Then had the baked mushrooms with cheese on top, also good, with very large mushrooms. Also had excellent grilled trout with side of noodles and cabbage, and the spicy beef with potato. With two drinks our check was 202 Romanian lei. Nice decor and cool entrance and setting in vaulted cellar. Glad we came here for dinner. Maybe they can air freight me a barrel of that soup to the USA?

We came here two times in one day. That should say it all . The food is beyond delicious and the service is fantastic. If we were in town more days we would probably come here two more times. That’s how good it was.

You can't come to Sibiu and miss out on this place. The food is excellent, prices are very decent and the service is super friendly. The Papanasi can't be skipped under any circumstances. A gem in the central square.

We flew in to Sibiu and went to this highly sought after restaurant. We went at opening time and we had the entire place to ourselves.

Must try; Sarmale, lamb goulash, mixed meat platter, bruschetta, picklings and mash.

All the dishes were just so good. Rather than choosing off the menu, we asked the owner to bring out the most local Romanian dishes.

For those who don't like or eat lamb, like me, you have to try the lamb goulash with potatoes. It'll change your mind about lamb!

The best food i have ever had in a restaurant. Great taste and amazing service. Even the staff gave me great advice not to overpay for some of the foods. The taste is a as natural as it can be. I dared to talk to the chef and found out some secretes. The food is organic and grew in a farm.

Fantastic restaurant! I arrived around noon on a Wednesday and was immediately seated by a friendly server who spoke English (menu is in English too). I skipped the appetizers, but was sorry when I saw all the soups being poured tableside! Luckily, my main course - the sarmale - made up for any regret. It was delicious, and I finished every last bite. An order of the papanasi and a cappucino rounded out the meal - all that and a beer cost me about $20. Fantastic place, highly recommended.

Some of the best food we ate in Romania. Wonderful setting, great service. So good we went back again the next night. Traditional Romanian dishes. Excellent. Soups were amazing. Don't miss it if you are in Sibiu.

To be honest, I have been at Crama Sibiului with any occasion I was in Sibiu. The positive are the location, decoration and the excellent food (generous portions, fresh and tasty). A bit on a less positive light is the service. I appreciate all the advice and small talk with the staff wearing the traditional outfit. Hence, they get busy and overlook the order... I will return hoping for at least the same experience. in the picture 'Clatite cu urda'

Delicious local food. Try the apple juice if its available. Desserts were big portions so beware! Also 2 waiters but they were super efficient.

Make sure you get seated early because they will not let you in if its about 1hour 15mins before closing!

Small restaurant, full of charm and traditional Romanian look. Hidden gem of Sibiu, placed in basement with wonderful food and service.
We had amazing experience there, staff was funny, informative and helpful. I was unable to finish my main course but took the rest with me to the hotel. Restaurant is kids friendly, but bear in mind there are stairs. We will revisit when will be back to Sibiu.

Wow what a place, you must come here.
This is the best hidden gem in Romania.
Amazing atmosphere, great service and fi ger licking great food.
Every dish was delicious.
When we god the bill we were very surpised of the low price, we ate at high end restaurants at 20X the cost where the food was not as good and we did not enjoy ourselves as much.

This is a must do if you are in the area.
We will come back again and again and again.

An amazing traditional Romanian restaurant located in the city center. The atmosphere is very authentic. The place is located in an old cellar it is cold and there is no smoking of any sort (including electronic). The service is very good, there is a disclaimer that you may need to wait up to 45 minutes, but this is good, because everything is made fresh and it is not premade. The food is very good. The polenta was very tasty. The Shepherd's bag was amazing, just amazing. And the Papanashi were delicious. The home made pickles were very good and the Romanian beer also. The place is not a tourist trap, unlike some other places in the center.

What a hidden gem!!! We had the most delicious food here!! The service was fast and the staff were very jovial. My shepherd’s bag was too die for!!! It was so yummy!!! Portions are generous and prices are reasonable!!! Would definitely eat here again when I next find myself in Sibiu!!!

As a Romanian, I strongly recommend this place if you’re into high quality traditional food, great service and quiet place.
Rachiu is a must and the soups are unbelievable.
The waitress is very communicative and warm, willing to help and ensure will do whatever it takes to make you happy.
I have no adverse comments on this place.

This is my absolute favorite restaurant for traditional food in the country, hands down. Every time we come by Sibiu, we stop to eat here.

The place is decorated so nicely, the staff is absolutely amazing (and hilarious) and the food is just perfect. I have genuinely loved everything I've ever ordered here.

I always recommend this place to friends who tell me they're going to Sibiu. I urge everyone to give them a shot!

We loved the food and authentic Romanian atmosphere here. We had a minced meatbolls soup, Shepards bag, beef in mushroom sause and neck. For dessert we ordered papanassi.
All was very tasty.

The place was really cute and since it was really hot outside (29 degrees Celsius ) , this ‘underground’ restaurant offered us the best atmosphere to have lunch ! The stuff was really nice , kind and helpful and the food was amazing! Unfortunately, I don’t remember the name of the dishes we took , but you must try the pork with the cotolet that looks like a pineapple!!
