Bar Zeca

Very friendly, good sandwiches, and great Poncha. I can definitely recommend the Bar.

After doing the Balcões hike near Ribeiro Frio, we were looking for a place to relax and enjoy a drink. We passed Bar Zeca in the car and decided to stop at what looked like a local bar. What a find! We ordered ponchas which were made fresh by the barman and they were very refreshing. Served with a small plate of peanuts, we were happily lightly buzzed by these drinks. We also ordered a shot of ginja (when in Portugal!) and some coffee. We soaked up the sun on the bar patio in a very relaxed atmosphere. We loved this unexpected find and we were happy to support this local business. Definitely recommend!

Nice spot for a stop, coffee is good and the snacks we tried were pretty good. They have several ‘local specialty’ drinks and tourist prices, I don’t think there’s much authentic here, but it’s not bad.

Excellent view of mountains and even the ocean. But most importantly, delicious traditional poncha drinks. We stopped here spontaneously for a drink after a hike but we were not disappointed at all. This place is definitely worth visiting.

Good food, good prices, fast serving, better than most of the nearby restaurants down in Porto Moniz (expensive and not that tasty food there)

Delicious espresso machiato!

Very warm and welcome local bar with great Nikita. We stopped here two times on our way to Pico Ruivo.

An out of way bar, we were taken to by our tour. It has great Gonger Poncha, the local brew made from Sugar Cane. Quite a kick it has.

Couldn't find a more authentic poncha bar on the island. Definitely worth a stop. Amazing spot
