Highly recommend! Delicious food, professional service, beef was very well prepared as well as espada with bananas. It’s nerby city center - if you are arround better check this place!

My partner had king prawns and said they were some of the best he'd ever had. I had a lovely fresh salad and the olives were to die for.

The best and fantastic service and delicious food at a very good price. Lunch for €24.99 has it all (appetizer, first course, second course, dessert, wine, water and coffee). The steak was delicious!

This secret gem in the heart of Funchal is by far one of my favourite restaurants and I will tell you why. Not only is O Celeiro’s staff completely bilingual, but they are fast and the food is just impeccable. I loved the atmosphere and the food. But I ate the octopus,which needed some spice and lemon to digest because there was a lot of oil

Excellent food, local and right in the centre. If you want cheap prices I would suggest to go for lunch and you will be given the menu of the day. Prices range from 8 euros to 10 for main dishes in the lunch menu.

My favorite place for lunch in the city for the last 7 years. Never have they dissapointed me, super consistent, delicious and amazing prices.

Lovely and quiet place with really nice waiters. We went there 2 times, first time we shared espada with banana and second time we shared an octopus - both meals were amazing and came with great side meals and salads. Don't miss visiting this place :)

We loved this restaurant - quaint, quiet, unpretentious and great service. No aggressive sales at the door. We had the special which included an app, wine, water, the main course, coffee and dessert. The main course included a great variety of vegetables which we were pleased about. Nothing disappointed. The fish was exquisite. Well worth a visit!

We had heard good things about this restaurant for some time and were looking forward to trying it. We were not disappointed!! The menu was quite extensive and reasonably priced for the quality. Be sure to look through the whole menu as there are more options that are not initially apparent.
We had the prix fixe option; lamb chops (excellent) and chicken curry (good). Our friends had the seafood rice (portions for two) which they all raved about.
The service was excellent, attentive but not pushy.
We will definitely be back soon.

If you wish to eat some great tender octopus, just go for it. It’s really the best I had during our whole stay.
Also the bacalhau a Braz was very tasty. Friendly staff :-)

Service and food was amazing. Best to try octopus if you a fan. Bit pricy but you pay for the quality. House wines a good choice in my opinion.

In 4 years of visiting Funchal we've been here 3 times. Every time has been brilliant. Fantastic wine and fillet steak and pepper sauce to die for. Such a traditional setting inside which we prefer. Love it

If you want Traditional and delicious Madeiran food, this is the place to go! The restaurant itself is elegantly decorated in old style Madeiran fashion with the beautiful Portuguese tiles on the walls. The waiting staff are super nice and accommodating, the food is absolutely excellent and I have come back many times. The desserts are to die for, so don’t skip that course!

Tasty food. Cosy. Good service. We were not very hungry so our waiter proposed to serve one dish on two separate plates and whey decorated them nicely. We enjoyed our dinner:)

Delicious traditional Portuguese restaurant - great value. Try the local black scabbard fish with grilled banana €14. Plenty of vegetables come with your main meal at no extra charge. 1/2 bottle house wine €7.50

Wow! I feel so spoilt. Very nice piece of steak with 3 different sides, can't even finish it. I would recommend to all to try. Worth every penny. And the octopus salad is amazing too, with lots of octopus. Steak with madeira sauce is very well recommended. Oh and an introductory little glass of white wine as well! :-)
