The Den

Absolutely wonderful Christmas and New Year's stay with Steve and Aisling! The hosts were incredibly helpful and generous with their time and resources. They provided us with a plethora of recommendations for places to eat and things to do, including a tour company that was truly a highlight of our trip. The accommodation was clean, well-maintained, and equipped with everything we needed for a comfortable stay. The terrace was a lovely spot to relax and the overall ambiance was peaceful and tranquil. Our only slight regret was the absence of a TV in the bedroom, but this was easily compensated for by the cozy atmosphere and abundance of distractions in the area. We would recommend this accommodation (that you can find on Airbnb) to anyone seeking a memorable and enriching holiday experience.

Found The Den by chance and really loved the place, an amazing location right in the center of Funchal and a really helpful staff. The apartment was really confortable and a great value for money. Steve - our host on the guesthouse - was very polite and courteous. His recomendations for places to eat were spot on. On the ground floor of the guesthouse there is a cozy cafe place that serves amazing coffee. Would certainly stay there again!

I have stayed here twice, each for a week and honestly could not have asked for anything more. The apartments are very clean and comfortable, I love that they have universal plug sockets and cool little USB ports in the wall. The decor is very relaxing, love the four poster bed (I stayed in Den1 and Den 2) and it was great to be able to make and store food for breakfast and picnics when we were out. The location is very central. We asked the hosts to organise us a car to be picked up from the airport and they were pleased to organise the same company to take us on trips to faja dos padres and down to the beach at calheta - both times the service was much cheaper than taking a yellow cab. All in all great value for money and a lovely place to stay - I wouldn't hesitate to recommend it

Great neat studios to rent, well equipped, thoughtfully arranged, with a fast wifi - definitely recommended.

Consigliatissimo a Funchal,offre tutto quello che serve in un appartamento. Molto cordiali i proprietari, che lavorano nel bar sottostante. Steve fa il caffè più buono di tutta Funchal!!

Très bien situé, propriétaire sympa et réactif, tout ce qu'il faut pour faire la cuisine, très confortable ! Bien qu'il soit dans une petite rue, l'appart est parfois bruyant la nuit !

This place cannot be trusted. They will accept and confirm your reservation (and payment) made months in advance. Then they will cancel it last minute due to 'surbooking' which means they found someone who paid a higher price. Unreliable.
