The Old City Pub

Awesome music, awesome booze, awesome service!

Popped in for a light lunch! Good beer and a great sandwich 'prego da casa' 7.50 euros.

right aft the big markethall is the old city pub. Ycou can sit inside or right at the street. The staff is very friendly and the fish and chips is the betst I had outside of London. There is a variety of beers to test. I love is pub, strong recommendation for a visit to eat these awesome fish & chips.

Had a few pints with family and friends and did have a nice service and a good ambiance.

Just had drinks, reasonable prices and pleasant atmosphere.

Ordered fish and chips for €6.50. It was delicious, the fish tasted fresh and the batter was super crispy. Another win was the tartare sauce which looked homemade. Staff were friendly and cleaned up quick. Location is good, near the waterfront and next to Old Town

Stopped for a quick bite and a pint.
Wife raved about the tuna toastie as the best she's ever had. The ham, cheese and tomato. Was excellent too.

The barmen were super friendly, not pushy about trying to get you in and spoke great English. Good drinks menu and a choice of Ponchas. Nice atmosphere with some decent background music.

Possibly the best sangria I've ever had. Rich, sweet with fresh fruit.

Lovely little pub. The staff are wonderful; prompt, polite and friendly - they've even helped us with our, limited, Portuguese. They play great Blue's music and if the weather is adverse, you can smoke inside.

One of the Best Coffee in Madeira

If you want to experience good old music and really nice people, go to this place. The bar staff speaks good English and they can recommend you really good places to go if you want to explore something else in the city.
