Restaurant Olhar do Campo

One of the best food we’ve had in a long time. The chicken curry was sumptuous. The service exceeded expectations. We were also served with Bacalau Frito and it was very tasty. If you ever get the chance to come here, please do not miss the opportunity to visit this restaurant. The staffs are polite and well mannered. The hygiene is very good too. Overall 5/5.

The food, atmosphere, and service all exceeded my expectations. I opted for the chef's recommended dish - sword fish with passion fruit sauce and fried bananas. Would have never imagined that the dish and ingredients to be so tasty. Each dish was beautifully presented and bursting with flavor. From the delicate seafood starter to the rich and satisfying main course, every bite was a delight.

Stopped off here for lunch today, and from the outside the place doesn't look like much, but the food was absolutely fantastic. Had mussels and bolo do caco to start, both of which were truly excellent. I went for the Espetada as a main, and this was beef perfection! Seasoned perfectly and came medium rare as asked for. My girlfriend had a sirloin steak, and again this was just spot on. Can't recommend this little spot enough. 2 starters, 2 mains and 3 beers came to €54.50. Jolly good

Best food... I always come back here..

The restaurant didn't look very nice from the outside but the food, specially the espetada de carne, exceeded our expectations. We had 2 entrees (lapas and bolo do caco), 2 main dished (tuna and meat) and a bottle of wine and we payed 50 Euros total. In general, the service was nice and fast. It's easy to park in front of the restaurant.

We got sirloin steak with black pepper sauce and country salad. Great steak with a sauce ! Very surprised !! Some stuff on a house as well. Good prices as well.

Great Madeiran food, some local classics but also good salads. Excellent mango cheesecake and tiramisu. Very kind service, nice view on the see. A very good address. Thank you.

4/14/2018 1220. Stopped to fuel up before our hike @ Levada Prazeres - Raposeira.

We requested a menu and after review, it depicted, typical Portuguese and the gentleman (Artur) that provided, assisted us with our choices, suggesting some of the restaurant specialties, which all sounded pleasant but we were looking for breakfast which was limited. Artur was able to accommodate, suggesting an omelette with with boiled or fried potatoes which was what the dr. ordered. Great service, award winning omelette (Eggs, Broccoli, Peppers, Onion and Cheese, cooked in “cast iron” pan to perfection) and delicious boiled potatoes. No doubt their Portuguese food will be as good. Cast is a mixture of locals and tourist. Patio and Casual seating is available. Small bar and decent wine cabinet.

We had mussels for starter and was pleasantly surprised, tasted amazing

For our main, we ordered espetada, which was exactly as ordered, cooked over an open flame. Could really taste the difference.

Dessert was too much for me, but my finacee loved the passion fruit cheesecake. She said it was very fluffy and tasted amazing.

The waiter spoke perfect English and had no issues with language.

We will most definitely be visiting next time we travel to madeira

The staff is very friendly, on the house they offered us some olives and fish crocket, then we had a lovely and wonderful menu (espada with banana and mango with maracuja sauce with salad and baked potato and picado for 1). Everything was delicious 😉 if you are near, you have to stop there!

Food is tasty and staff are attentive and friendly. When we come back to Madeira, we will make sure to come back!
