The best restaurant I visited in Portugal and we went to some very, very good ones. You have to be patient because, there is always demand of visitors and locals alike. If you like octopus, fish; this the place to go. Super friendly service although you need to understand portuguese to appreciate how nice people are in the restaurant; the owner/main cook is brilliant and kind

My favourite restaurant in the whole of Portugal. Stumbled across it 11 years ago, been back 3 times (twice via significant detours). Each time the food was amazing and the welcome incomparable The pulvos is out of this world.

This is a very local restaurant. We where a bit late so they only could offer 2 main course. This means to me they cook what they got and fresh. The ladies where to sweet and it felt like eating at your grandma's place. Very nice and coisy. Love it.

All we had is on the picture, just the mixed salad is missing. All very delicious , just the octopus was a bit to oily.
The housewine is amazing !
Also the dessert was very good.

Tip : do not order to much food because everything fills you up very well.

Would definitely come back !

We’ve been to a lot of restaurants travelling around Portugal and Passarinho is simply the best. We went there three times while stating in Alentejo for four days.

The octopus and deep fried sole were divine. The accompanying rice home made chips were great as well.

The ladies working there were all so kind. The mistress was extremely attentive! We will definitely come back.

The queue and wait was promising, as it was by locals only. Forget about English and immerse in a true and genuine local kitchen, run by an incredible Portuguese lady who's coordinating kitchen and service that will make your meal absolutely incredible. Could not recommend more!!! Best food ever...

This place is a treasure. And the cook / owner, Cila is a delight. She doesn’t speak English but it’s not necessary to enjoy her exuberant personality and truly warm welcome. I requested vegetarian food and she didn’t disappoint: a savory kale soup, melon, tomato salad and bread. Later, friends also dined there eating the same meal I had as well as octopus. They were quite impressed with the delicious food also. This is a definite must visit cafe.

Amazing lunch!!! The food is veeeery good and the lady working here is super sweet and incredible!!! We ate Giardineira (the picture doesn’t show the taste - taste of mother and grandmother)

I suggest everyone to experience this place to feel home out of home.

Such a lovely place! Great Portuguese food served by a warmhearted older lady. We were able to smalltalk a bit, even though our Portuguese is non existent. She even came flying with a bandage after spotting a small cut on a finger.

Tried the dish of the day and were served in minutes. Fantastic!

If you're looking for something traditional and charming, have a visit!

Very good delicious regional food at great prices! The staff was very friendly. I totally recommend it if you are in the vicinity! The dinning room is not huge but it goes very well with the place and it's charme (you can see the kitchen).
Another very important detail, food came quickly, we where 5 people and waited less than 15 minutes for everyone's food to arrive.
Also, bring cash there is no electronic payment available, but it's totally worth it.

This restaurant is amazing value for money. They serve excellent quality food at a very low price. Tonight we had the soup of the day and the dish of the day including a half litre of wine all for 18€ for two people. Cheerful friendly service all the way. Great!

Our dinner at Passarinho was excellent, both in terms of delicious food and the service. The server/cook/proprietress--she may have been all 3, tho we aren't sure--was delightful and very helpful, even though she didn't know English and we know only a handful of words in Portuguese. Don't be fooled by the front room of this establishment--there is a very nice dining room in the back.

People, if you travel trough or stay in Cercal, you have to eat there at least once! You will get a real alentajano food which is delicious, full of flavors. I really recommend Carne porco alentejana with migas. Migas is amazing! If I could i would take several portions with me for later. We also had filetes de linguado, really well made- soft meat, crunchy crust and tasty rice coriander. Highly recommend!

Really interesting place to eat some simple country food. The ratio between quality/quantity and price is optimal: you get a lot and of good quality for your bucks!
A must for rota walkers!
