Alma Nomada Porto Covo

Hiking the Rota Vicentina and had our inaugural dinner at Alma Nomada. The food was fresh and flavorful. Our waiter gave us a great wine recommendation to pair with our dinner choices. Service was attentive and fast (but not rushed). The restaurant has a lovely atmosphere. All together, we had a lovely dining experience (felt like fine dining far beyond what we expected) and would highly recommend!

Wow! What a great restaurant! Where do I start? The sourdough bread with smoked goats butter was amazing and then the bbq brisket was sublime. My wife had the sirloin with rice that had the most incredible flavours. They certainly have some very talented chefs here and the service was first class too. I can honestly say that we had some of the best food we have had in a very, very long time. I would never have thought this quality of restaurant would be found on a campsite - although the campsite is also of a high standard (separate review).

We booked a table at 20:30 and arrived an hour earlier , asked if we could seat and were immediately accommodated .
We walk through walks with handmade art that are super eye catching until you seat .
Lighting and music volume were just perfect for a family meal .
The waiter introduced the menu as I haven’t seen in a very long time ( and I live overseas half my life ), with a fair knowledge on wines .
He suggested and recommended politely with a smooth cross-selling, delicate ice breaking jokes and a perfect time-counted service between courses . The best of all is that he respected us and didn’t try to over-feed us which happens often specially in season restaurants .
Clearance of plates were done allowing us to digest and while touching the table he took that to sell the goods , a interaction good enough to make the whole experience fantastic, but not taking our privacy .
We had the couvert ( best butter I had in my life ) made of smoked goat butter and 3 wheat types bread , followed by the hummus ( it wasn’t perfect and needs some tahini, lemon and olive oil to be honest ), but everything else was so good it didn’t allow me to classify less than 5** for this ! We also had the codfish “pataniscas”, with chorizo bread and shared a fish main that was equally amusing. I’m so glad to have this concept and hoping that it grows well, relieving to see someone knowing it well and spreading it through service and care 🫶🏼

We loved it. Some really creative dishes with good service. For us it was not too pricey as we expect to pay a certain amount for good food, especially when it is a treat. A meal of the same calibre in the UK would cost much more. Fresh ingredients used in a innovative way.

The chefs tasting menu is incredible! Each dish came artfully prepared with inventive flavors and absolutely perfect taste. I’ve had tasting menus across the globe and this really rivals top restaurants - I cannot recommend it more! If you’re visiting porto covo or driving down the coast this is a must stop! 👏🏻👏🏻

Really nice ambience from the moment you enter the door. A lot of local art work on offer. Great food with vegetarian option from the mains. Good selection of wine on offer. Service was fantastic. Will visit again. See you soon.

I wouldn’t expect such a great place in a camping! The place is nicely designed, with a touch of style. The service is quick and very prepared, explaining every plate and available to make changes upon menù. Food the the best since we are traveling around Portugal, tasty but not heavy, fresh, local, and original, since there is a Chef in the kitchen. I feared the bill… but it was absolutely in line with the dinner! Huy recommended

A magnificient surprise. The location may seem a bit odd but the dinner was fantastic, including the incredible wines. Great crew, relaxing decoration and moderate bill : honestly we couldn't have hoped better in the region.

After spending an unique night at Alma Nómada in Porto Corvo I was delighted with the amazing art and talent from an extremely professional and passionate chef Ricardo Leite. His deep knowledge of modern and conscious food and wine I can only recommend this restaurant that will be soon the next Michelin Star in Setubal. Thank you chef and entire team for the great experience and pleasure to exchange ideas and learn with this growing star of the Portuguese gourmet cuisine. Obrigado Chef Ricardo and team (Maria, Tiago and all). 🙌👏 will keep in my good memories the good wine and signature dishes 🤲
